  1. Great looking gold.Lucky. I've been near there one time and meet up with Digger Bob but got run out because a storm was coming. It was just a short drive of 1800 miles for me. The best on the next time out. Chuck
  2. I was back out again with my MXS running the 6 X 10 DD coil. I can't say I was getting rich but I was having good luck finding dimes. Before I ever went out with my MXS and othe detectors I do a air test. Not so much on depth but the ID for each coin. On my old Eagle 2 when I'd get a ID of 22 most of the time it was a nickel. The test for a nickel on my MXS it showed 20 on the ID. Well I was digging anything that was hitting around these numbers. When it lock on 22 it was a hard tab every time but one time it had a rock hard 20 it lock on. Well I dug down and out pop a Jeff wanting air. This was my first for my MXS. So from now on when the ID shows 20 just maybe most of the time it will be a nickel . This is one great hobby we have ! Chuck
  3. We can find one detector is better than another being cost is a major factor to answer the why question.. I don't care what detector you swing you have to learn what it can do for you. If one is not willing to do that then do like so many just put it away. When I started detecting I didn't care how short the time I had I was out there learning and just a swinging. This holds true if want to be a relic, coin are just a plain Jane nugget hunter. haha Oh.I love nugget hunting but here in Texas we only have black gold. I too believe that with a new detector.it's good to dig all signals. This is just to see if your ID is in line with what you dug up. I love a ID detector but I found more when I had to dig all. I was out this afternoon with my MX Sport digging good targets but also the ID number 22 came up a lot. I knew most of the time it was a hard tab. then I got a rock solid 20 and on my air testing this should be a nickel. I dug down and out came a Jeff wanting air. This was my first nickel with my MXS but the Deus has cross that line in the sand. The best to each of you! Chuck
  4. D&P-OR The dealer that i got my Deus from work for Home Land Security and is only a relic hunter. He spends his vacation in the eastern states doing nothing but relic hunting with his XP Deus. He's not trying to make a living off selling Deus detectors but in his opinion the Deus is the only way to go. He has both coils but likes the 11 inch coil better. Now for myself I'm a relic that is a coin hunter. I have the MX Sport and the XP Deus to coin hunt with and I've been switching between both. The heat has been more than I like so it has cause me to limit my detecting. It will get better for a coin hunter as it cools down and we had a sample of that in the last two days. I'm looking forward to see the new coils from Deus and the V 4 update. Of the two detectors they both have a place in what I plan to do for me. Me is the only one they have to please and like said they do. Chuck .
  5. Jim_Alaska Over there you got gold in your hand but there goes a guy with your gold still in your hand. Chuck
  6. RKC Thanks for the video showing all that gold. I was about to pack my bag when I got to thinking they have things that will eat you. I haven't live this long by putting myself in harms way and I'm not going to start now.. Thanks again for the show and tell. Chuck
  7. Rege-PA I need a 6 inch mono coil for my MX Sport. When I hunt for coins in a high trash area I like to use a coil no bigger than 5 to 6 inch. You already make a 6 inch mono for a lot of PI's. So you have the shell of the coil I need and I now have the pigtail if you can make up the wiring inside. Thanks for asking Chuck PS I'm sure I'll be about the only one here that coin hunt more than nugget hunt..Ones light don't shine too bright when standing alone. Thanks again !
  8. Tom I thank you for the heads up on the sale at White's on coils. When I want a small coil for detecting in a high trash area I want a 5 inch but not over a 6 inch and a DD just don't fit the bill. I'll take the concentric over the DD anytime I'm coin hunting. 30% off all coils is a knock down great price for White's to offer.I will have to go take a look see to see if there is something that i can't live without. I just had a talk with Rege-PA on Detech coils. He let me know what White's has is what was contracted to make. I just don't see the need for the 7 inch DD coil at this time. I've never had the pleasure of having a Detech coil but only heard how good they are. Thanks again Tom Chuck
  9. Rege-PA I thank you for a quick reply and I understand what White's contracted Detech to make for them. You use the word popularity but sometimes one cannot be sure what that is until one is made. Thank you again for reading what I posted. Maybe one day Detech or another coil maker will hear me. The Best to You Chuck
  10. This is a question for Detech . What i'd like to know if you can make so many coils for other detectors is it possible to make more for the MX Sport.? I see White's sales a 7 inch DD coil from you. I have their 6 x 10 DD coil and I see no reason to buy another DD about the same size. I don't know why detector companies can't get it straight in their head that smaller coils have a place. Just like right now I have to mod a 6 inch coil to get what I need to hunt a high trash area. Now days just about every detector company has a big coil when they put it on sale. When White's put out the 66 TR Goldmaster it came with two coil a small and large one. I'm willing to put out the money for one but you got to make it for me to buy it. Us coin hunters have been around a long time before you gold hunters was a gleam in us coin hunters eye. Chuck PS Even my Eagle 2 came with a big coil but White's did have a small coil and I put money down for it right away. .
  11. Tom Just to let you know I got the pig tail but need bad to find that coil to put it on. I was back in that school yard that has so much trash. It has a big area in back that have something going on many years ago for it to have what I'm coming up with. I'm finding old bottle caps and tin plus metal too. The last time I had the concentric coil but it's cover too much ground at one time. Until I do get a smaller coil it may be best if i stay with the 6 X 10 DD. I've hunting in high trash area before but I don't know why but this goes beyond any I've had in past years. It's got to be some coins in the middle of all this trash.Well I hope so anyway. I did find this silver heart that was about two inches across but only silver in color.. Chuck
  12. Hey Digger You done great and after seeing this picture we know the rest of the story. The Best to You Digger ! Chuck
  13. Gold Seeker I don't know if you ever used it but you can buy some great plastic paint. I just may go buy a can and give it a try. I'm not sure if I'd want to go with the pink or lime green. I think I'll go with the green being I'm not sure if I'd want to go out in the public with pink.haha Chuck
  14. That Digger Bob is becoming a Movie Star. You'll find him over on MD-Blog showing how easy it is to find one of the new colored pinpointers from White's in the brush. Chuck PS When I go to Wal Mart and I don't see a price I say it must be free. Nothing was said about the cost of a new shell so it must be free. haha In my dreams.
  15. The work is out there if you're willing to travel where miners are running a mining operation. You got to take your talent to the ones that need it. I don't know but it may be hard to find what you want in the lower 48. Maybe Steve H. will come on here and point you in the right direction. Best of luck ! Chuck
  16. Hey Digger Bob That is one great looking nugget and hope we get a look at the others. Chuck
  17. Over on the MD- Blog that got a video talking about a new detector from Garrett call AT Pro 2 Wireless. I'm not sure this is the total way to go. The big thing when you go wireless is the price has to go up. You say why well anytime you have to add electronics it can't help to cost more. I have the Deus and I like it because of it's lite weight but I paid big time for that pleasure. The weight factor may not hold true with the AT Pro are maybe a MX Sport. That six foot of cable is not going remove a lot of weight when you have to add more electronics to be wireless. Chuck
  18. Rivers rat I didn't use a pinpointer for over 40 years but I don't leave home without it anymore. The best money I ever put down that I didn't think I needed. Rivers rat go buy you one and the more you use it the more you'll like it. Chuck
  19. Hi Goldpick You made some good points on the up and coming Deus pinpointer. It's good to say what you're thinking out loud. You just don't know who is reading on what you post here. We the buyer of detectors need to let all these detector companies know what we like and what we want. They may not get it just right but they do have to get it near to keep us buying. I do know I've been doing my part on the buying this past year. The best downunder Chuck
  20. Thanks Tom I''ll take a look see it may be one out there with my name on it. This is like window shopping it don't cost to look. If and when White's makes one for my MX Sport I'd like to be the first to buy it. Thanks Again Chuck
  21. Hi Tom I've got just about anything I need to solder are repair any electronic equipment. I can buy the coil but I don't see every electronic store having the type of plug I'll need.. I just need the cable with the MXS plug on the end. I don't want to start a project until I got all parts. I thank you for your kind offer. I'm more than willing to pay for the part and shipping.. Thanks again. Chuck
  22. Myself I don't see the need for me to make a adapter cable. I don't have another detector that will work with this coil. The only thing I need to do is get the correct plug first. I see that the 5.3 coil runs at 14kHz on the detectors it's on and that's MXT Pro and the MX5.. The odd thing is on White's site it's says MX Sport runs at 13.9 but the book that comes with it says 13.8. Maybe they are like me in that they too need to proofread all they write. I'd really like if I could just order the coil from White's with the correct plug on it. My thinking is I can buy the coil would be cheaper if it had the correct plug already on it and not having to buy the plug separate. Maybe the powers that be will hear my plea. Chuck
  23. When it came out that the Deus would have a pinpointer that was going to be wireless I said no big deal. I just didn't see the merit or the need of having one. Well I tell you I am wrong big time ! I was detecting not with the Deus but I was right next to a busy street and couldn't hear myself think. The noise was so loud and the vibration so much I couldn't tell if my pinpointer was working are not. The thing was that street had cars trucks and every so often came a city bus by. I too didn't have headphones and that alone put me at a disadvantage. I don't have the need for a wireless pinpointer all the time but I can now see it does have a place in detecting. Chuck
