  1. THANKS Steve I'll have to take look at that. That just may be the thing for me. If I sit here waiting I may go from being gray headed to snow white Thank again Chuck
  2. Tom I thank you but if White's wouldn't approve it I'd take a pass doing it. I wouldn't want to do anything to void the warranty. i don't want my MX Sport to go belly up on me and south at the same time. I guess I'll spit in one hand and wish in the other and see what get full the fastest. I've just had my Eagle 2 all these years and used that small coil most of time and I don't leave home without it. Chuck.
  3. Rivers rat I don't know if it would work for me. It looks it has to do with work on my part and I really don't like the word work let alone do it. About 20 years ago it was a story about a guy that had made a rake be would pull on the beach. He pulled it like a horse and it would run about 5 inches deep. In this way it would catch all and let only the sand pass. He said it paid off for him. I never gave it a try but just keep on swinging my detector. Chuck
  4. Tom Me myself and I will buy it. Hey that's three ! I do understand on the number other than just me wanting one for White's to make it. Question= Is there another coil I can use just by changing the connector? If so can I get the connector and pin numbers to change it over? Well White's sell me the connector that will fit the MX Sport? I got the know how if White's will work with me. If this be the case maybe you can just sell what you got already on hand I B here waiting to hear from you. Chuck
  5. Mike Hillis I don't know if the light is any better but over on M-D Blog they show how quick it is to change to another color. With all the colors you can change from one to another depending on what mood you're in. The light may not blind you but it finds the coin. That is why I got it. Chuck
  6. Roughwater On the fire ants I'll remember to take some of the poison with me next time. I want that dime ! I'm sure the size of a dime is the reason it gets lost the most plus pennies. The good thing about it's still money. I wish I could go back in time when it was all silver. Where you need to be detecting along that coast being that storm has left town. I've heard sometimes the sand will get pulled off leaving the coins laying on top. Take Care ! Chuck
  7. Des D I've got another detector that I got after the MX Sport. Don't get me wrong I like the second one but at half the price the MXS has so much going for it plus being waterproof. I don't dive but if hunting in water and I drop it it's no big deal. I still waiting for White's to come out with that 6 inch concentric coil. I do hope it won't be long but I'm here White's Some may ask why I went out and got another detector if the MXS is so great. The only way I know to reply to that is I didn't have one The reason I keep saying about the 6 inch coil I want is because Tom is from White's and I want to let him know I'm not going away until he gets me that coil.Haha Tom glad to have you here and hope you never go away. Chuck.
  8. 1515Art You are a lucky one being others have been jump doing the same thing. That cat I think got two people on bikes. A guy when out to shoot it and it came after him too. He did kill it. With a big cat like that we are a easy kill and you take a old cat likes that easy kill with little fight. Years ago I had a farm and I had a young cat on my place. My brother in law watch it one time from a deer blind on my place. Another time another friend I had told him to keep a lookout for it. He was walking up the middle of my place and it jump up in front of him and ran off. If you come across one don't run because you can't out run it. The best thing if you can get your hands on a big stick to fight it off. Just don't turn your back on it. because it will jump you then. I had a friend that did have one as a pet. It had a bowling ball that was 16 lbs. and it could throw it around like you would a small ball. Chuck
  9. I told myself this morning I was going out and coin hunt all day with my MX Sport.. I'd put on that little 6 X 10 DD coil and away I went. I hit just about every school on my side of town. The trouble is you can't get in the play grounds area being it's lock. I don't know what it was today but everything was coming up dimes. Some days I start finding one certain coin and little of others. For all the people out there that in my opinion the MX Sport is hard to beat detector. it's so easy to may any change in the program on the fly. You can turn it off and it will keep your new entry with out having to do more. One thing that caught me off balance was the ground balance in how much it would change just from one school to another. Like I've already said all schools on the same side of town too. I don't know if you have this trouble call fire ants. At one school they were everywhere and digging up a dime I got into them. You should have been there because I didn't know just how good I could dance. I found another dime in the middle of a fire ant bed but I didn't have the guts to dig it. Having this small DD coil has not stop me from wanting a 6 inch concentric coil. What I want in a detector may took White's a while to get it correct but they did. Best to all of you that has a MX Sport. Chuck
  10. 1515Art When it's less deer out there for lions to eat they will come into town looking for dogs and other pets we have..In Colorado this store I trade at that is in the edge of town had one kill in front of it. What happen a guy pulls up with his dog chained in the back . He goes in to shop but when he comes out this lion had kill his dog. It couldn't get the dog out because it was chained. This why you need to carry a gun with you at all times when out. You go look in the mirror and you see you but that lion see's one big T bone steak. Be safe and live long ! Chuck
  11. As I look into my crystal ball this may not be a good thing. Everywhere I look I see rug rats all over the school yards digging up the coin I'd hope to find. I spend a thousand but they get by with less than a hundred. Is there any justice in this world anymore. Now with that said boy i wish I'd one when I was a kid. I wouldn't ask Santa for a bike but give me a detector. Chuck
  12. Steve can't have the pink I want it.! haha Oh well first come first serve. I may get the lime green being I have a shirt about the same color. Just another day I get the short end of the stick. BULL ! To make me feel better I think I'll just go out and buy me another detector. I spend all my money on buying detectors but then I don't have the money to go anywhere. All of you have a great day! I'm going to give me my best shot of doing it. Chuck
  13. Terry When I started detecting was on the coast with this school near me. The play grounds was all sand. The lunch money was 35 cents and most of the time I'd find it all. That play grounds had very little trash. Then another place I hunted had so much trash it took two weekends to clean it out so in hopes of finding coins. Oh it did pay off with 30 coin all in the 18 hundreds and I'd say small child gold ring plus a old watch. The oldest was a half with a date of 1854. This was two rooms about 6 X 8 with dirt floors. So I say you got a place that has high trash just don't give up. All that trash may be telling.you a lot of people was here. But this will give you a better shot of finding coins that all those people lost. I say to all is go slow, low and be sure to cover as best you can all the area your hunting. If it's paying off with coins be sure to go over it a bigger coil. Chuck .
  14. Fred I too have done the same thing and came away saying I've done that. I was there before it was a park. I think it was around 70 -71 with some friends on a coin detecting trip. Chuck
  15. I wouldn't pay a dime for that detector. My reasoning is the cost of paying someone to dig those deep holes is going to override the cost of that detector. Just how many holes would you be willing to dig at over 3 feet to find trash ? Maybe one but after that maybe not so much.. Here I am just asking for a small 6 inch coil to coin hunt and I can't get it.. Chuck
  16. I watch every video I can on each detector I've got to learn more about it. I've seen all about recovery speed and separation and that all looks so good. With the power in me and my detector I can notch out anything I want. Now that don't fix what I want I can apply my super power and discriminate it to a unknown place. I watch this one video showing how I can enhance one signal over another so the signal on the ring was more pronounce. I really love it when I see a depth test on one of the detector I got and how good it is. All I've said above was done in a perfect world of detecting. The trouble that I'm having is when I walk out my door to go detect all that perfect went south. Look at any depth test and you will see they check to make sure you don't have any trash around are in that hole. Not one time will you see them throw a hand full of trash in with that coin. I don't care what the size of coin they always check the hole first to make sure it's clean. Now here I dig up a coin but my big coil has trash under it too. Oh my recover speed not so good because I didn't have two nails to put down just right but I do have lots of trash. Another good one showing how to enhance the signal of a ring so it's more pronounce over the trash next to it. This is great but like the ring I found the other day I couldn't see what it was before I dug it up. I know each of you is asking what is my problem. I've come to the conclusion if I don't walk out my door I will be in the perfect world of detecting Chuck.
  17. With some of the new coils that has came out put us near to our goal on what you've said.. We hear a lot about people finding gold at two feet or more with some of the new coils. They will detect small gold but they come with a high cost. If you be the lucky one to live in gold country maybe that would be the way to go for you. I've said before it's only money I'm over a thousand miles away from any gold and won't spend over two weeks nugget hunting. I'm asking myself now when ever did I justify the money put out for a detector are coil. May be one day it will be a detector like that and at my age I don't think I'll ever see it. Right now I want grass that will grow only two inches high so I'll never have to cut it. Chuck
  18. I use a White's TRX and it works good for me. This is the first for me and I kick myself for not buying one sooner. The next one if and when will be waterproof to go with my waterproof MX Sport. Chuck
  19. I was hunting in a high trash area this afternoon and the whole time wishing I had that new 5.5 X 9 coil.. I don't know if it's me because sometimes I was right on target ( My pinpointing went south at times ) but the next I'd call in the ball park. I did find some coins but nothing to write home about.. I did find my first gold ring in all that trash. I started saying maybe 14 K but then I said 10 K but after it was all over it had got down to gold fill. Well if nothing else it is gold in color.Haha Chuck
  20. All I know I'll have the 5.5 X 9 as soon as I can get my hands on one for my XP Deus. Just like I'll have the 6 inch concentric coil for my MX Sport when they make it. I can download the V. 4 if or when it too comes out. Chuck
  21. This topic is about what coil you would like to add to your coin hunting coils. Most coils that come with a new detector is a large DD coil. White's has a concentric coil that is a 9 inch and I think is a great coil. Now myself want a 6 inch concentric coil to go with my MX Sport. It's been said that the DD is more in demand over concentric What I want to know from you is just what you want in a small coil. That being a DD are the same in a concentric coil for coin hunting. If you just want to say DD or Concentric that's okay. For fun go look at the Garrett AT Pro coils offered. Chuck PS Myself I don't like a DD coil for coin hunting at all other maybe on the beach..
  22. Well Steve we know of two guys that like a concentric coil. I think I will start a poll on who likes concentric or DD coil.
  23. I like the looks of the 7 inch coil and the larger one too. The thing is most coin hunters I believe want a concentric coil for coin hunting. Just how many coin hunters we have to nugget hunters I don't know. But lets say it's a hundred to one with the one being nugget hunter. What I ask Detech is you want to sell one or a hundred? To be true it's more like a thousand to one. If anyone from White's is reading this you too need to sit back and think of what I said. Chuck. PS There is a lot of nugget hunters that would like a small 6 inch mono coil too. When I buy a detector I want to have backup of other coils if I see the need. Maybe I need to do is look first at the number of and the type of coils to go with that detector before I buy..
  24. Great price great looking coils but that small DD coil just don't tickle my fancy. I'd take a mono or a concentric in the 7 inch size. I'm just not a great lover of DD coils for coin hunting. I do know they have a place in detecting but that's not what I want now. Chuck
  25. Rivers rat If we don't agree on anything else we do agree on a smaller coil. I've found over the years a small coil has fair depth and like said great on pinpointing. Garrett made a small coil that much bigger than a silver dollar. This coil you could get next to a fence and yet detect a coin but not the fence. Way back when I got my Eagle 2 it came with a 9 inch coil but White's did offer a smaller coil that was a 6 inch one. That coil has good depth and has stayed on there the major time I've been swinging that Eagle. I don't know about you but I think we must be talking to our self. Chuck
