I wonder if tan is the new look with White’s in their gold detectors? Like someone else said that they don’t do camo and neither do I . But it’s all about what tickles your fancy. Lord knows I haven’t had my fancy tickled in a long time . Sorry I forgot we talking about metal detectors. Chuck

Jim If White’s wasn’t making money they wouldn’t be selling it. It’s like you said in my way you’re not paying the Doctor for what he’s doing but what he knows . Chuck

Jim If this TDI sales is like a dead fish and don’t move like White’s wants we’ll see it sooner. That tan box didn’t sale like they wanted before and they want to try to make another run at it . Think about this if you could buy both coils it may cost around about 500 to get out the door with them . Take that 500 from 1099 that you can buy the whole package for and now you find yourself paying 599 for the electronics you have in that tan box . Just how do you spell steal as in stolen. If White’s are someone out there would make a video to show and tell all . I could find myself with a tan box standing with other detectors. Chuck

Phrunt When I got White’s on the phone I did ask if they going to sale that coil by it’s self and he said yes but not now. If it sales like they want we’ll never see it as a single item. Chuck

Remember if you do buy a detector it won’t find a thing standing in a closet. When you just starting out dig everything and make a note of what it was . If your detector has a ID be sure to make note of that in relation to the item found. Chuck

I believe in due time by a video we should see how hot this maybe new coil and SL is .. I’ll just leave it at that for now and keep my money in my pocket. Chuck

Noob That’s what I said that Jack said at White’s when I called there and it’s a folded mono . Noob and Jim why wouldn’t White’s make the mods if it would improve the SL ? It’s not like it’s going to cost big bucks to make some simple changes.. We already know just upping the voltage would help to improve it overall. If it would help to solve this unknown factor I’d call White’s again. I need someone who talk the talk and I don’t think that’s me . Chuck

Jim I see you’re very knowledgeable on the electronics of the TDI SL . I too believe if you could get your hands on the tan SL you would know upfront what mods it had The only thing standing in our way from us finding out is the 1099.00. Chuck

On another forum I seen this guy has almost new V3i for sale but he don’t show what he wants just the list price of 1499.00 . He has yet to get anyone asking what he really wants. I think the day of putting a detector in a sardine can is history. Just using plastic will cut down on the weight and yet looks better at the same time. I know we have a lot of people on here is full time nugget hunters and part time coin hunters . Then you flip the coin over and you have a guy like me and that’s just the opposite. I’d like to say a nugget hunter first but that’s too far away here in Texas. Please correct me if I’m wrong but White’s only has two true nugget detectors The 24 K that hasn’t been out too long and the TDI SL we won’t say how long but with a new skin and with a new hot coil not sure about it yet . Just maybe we’ll get to see a video on it to set the record straight if it’s one to set . What I would like to know is have they done anything to the TDI to make it better other than like said new skin as in paint job ? I know beauty is only skin deep but ugly is to the bone . Chuck

Chase I too have one like that and for me it works great when I get down past 6”.’ We all have our likes and dislikes. That’s what makes all of us unique. Chuck

Lacky I’m sure we will in due tell but at my age I need to know what I like best. My reasoning is I need to tell my wife what detector I want in the coffin with me when I go. Lacky you may not know this but they stop prospectors from coming in the main part of Heaven. It’s just not because they were digging up the streets but they didn’t cover their holes either. I myself use a digging tool that White’s puts out . The handle is large and it fits my hands but yet light in weight. I don’t want something that pulls my pants down because of it’s weight. My wife don’t like when my piggy bank slot shows. Chuck

It’s a interesting video but I wish someone would tell them we too have coinage in America. I see depth test on coins that I can’t relate . If a detector like the Equinox 800 can detect any American coins at 12” I’ll be happy. My reasoning behind that is some of the oldest coins I found had a little more than dust over them . Yes I know we find coins deeper but we don’t date back two thousand years making them. So detector companies if you want to sell your product to me do your testing over here too . If I don’t like how the end result at least I can understand what they saying.. I’ll thank you ahead. Chuck

Thanks so much for your quick reply . I really don’t like headphones that much but glad to know if I want I can go back and get them. I know it would be cheaper to get them up front but not so much when you’re thinking about buying two detectors. I don’t know about you but I’ll still stop and pick up a penny. Chuck

Chase This kid is really not a kid anymore being he’s in college and this makes the third detector I’ve given him . Then I have a want to be Treasure hunter friend that I’ve given two detectors too . The last one was a Fisher two box but that’s a investment into him .haha Chuck

Mr. Goldman With 9 grandkids I need all theses cheap detectors I can get my hands on . I still got a daughter and son that just got married last year. So you see it may be more on the way one day. Just think I was the last at one time. I don’t sing joy to the world anymore. I’ve added enough joy . Chuck

Mr. Goldman The 540 is not bad at 2 and that’s one reason I have a problem with my Sport . I guess as we pay less we got to expect less because less is what we get . My favorite saying is spit in one hand and wish in the other to see what gets full the fastest. Oh don’t get me wrong but I am thinking about buying the 540 to play around with but I too have a grandson waiting in the wing for it . Chuck

Being it’s two models being offered one with wireless headphones and the other without can one go back later to get wireless headphones? Could it be the lower end model is not headphone ready? I notice too that on the Simplex you block out 5 at a time when you discriminate. Chuck

I note as the price of the detector goes down a larger block is deleted when you discriminate. Looks to go from about 2 on the 540 then 5 on the 440 and 10 on the 340. That’s if I read each correct. Chuck

Hi Steve You didn’t happen to see a price tag on any? Do you know if the coils will be out the same time as the Vanquish? That is a great selection of coils that Minelab is offering if one so wish the need for their Vanquish. I think it’s a wise move when a new detector comes on the market to have a good selection of coils at the same time offering with it. I’m one that will always buy another coil and for me it will be smaller. Thanks for posting. Chuck
