  1. If the Simplex is as great that we think it will be for what all it has to offer I don’t see myself selling it. The people that bought a detector that cost two or three times more than the Simplex that offers less has a real problem if they want to move it. I can’t say that the Simplex will be your number one go to detector . But for me at a low cost it is when water hunting it will be. Especially when my high dollar detector is out of warranty. On the Simplex it would be best if it’s still in warranty but if not for the price no big deal. I’ll just buy me another! What I’d like to know if the Simplex has made the long swim to U S shores? I can’t find a word saying so . Chuck
  2. This is my first time ever buying a low cost detector. My reasoning behind stepping down to the Simplex is where can I buy a detector that offers so much for so little out of the pocket. All that list of lower price detectors I never gave a second look. I always wanted more from a detector than just turn on and go. My statement above about stepping down is only true in price on the Simplex but not true in what it has to offer. This is why I have a Simplex on order now. I guess you could say that I may need a attitude adjustment on lots of things but it won’t happen overnight. Chuck
  3. Gerry I don’t know why you post your gold with a also new dime being it’s a 42 and I pop my head out in 41. Great looking gold ! Chuck
  4. If pass the warranty the value of the Simplex couldn’t be more than half at that point. The Simplex price is getting like a lot of electronics when something goes wrong you trash it . It’s just not worth the cost to fix it . Chuck
  5. Guessologist I welcome you to the forum. So many people on here can help you but I’d like to hear more what you got going. The help is a two way street in you maybe help us too . The Best! Chuck
  6. Look at it this way. My clothes dryer if I set it on medium the heating element will last lots longer. If I keep it on high like I did when I first get it,it don’t last near as long. I would say this holds true with a detector. With lower voltage it is less likely to go out before the warranty runs out and it sounds off if the nugget is big enough. White’s didn’t give you the weight of the nugget you could detect but it just would. So maybe White’s is trying to make a better coil so they can still keep the voltage as before. Please correct me on anything if I’m wrong. Chuck
  7. RobNC The time you came into the world I was using White’s 66 TR but we had the pull tab and with a detector that didn’t know discrimination yet you dug all . Don’t believe people that tell you All has been found. Believe me that is not true. You just got to think different than the next guy . Oh don’t get me wrong it helps to hunt where no other has been. The detectors people are swinging now get more depth than most I used way back when. Chuck
  8. RobNC I’ve sold silver two times over the years when the price was up . I don’t have a lot of silver anymore but I have the memory of finding it. I may been detecting longer than you are old . That being over fifty years. I guess you could say I cheated being I didn’t wait on you. The year I started detecting was the first year they stopped the silver coins. The Indian Head penny I like and I’ve found a fair amount but here is some. The Flying cent I’ve yet to find.
  9. Now nickels is another story. The top is a Shield Nickel . The next is V Nickels. The ones below that is all Buffalo Nickels. You can see old Nickels don’t fair too well. Chuck
  10. RobNC That’s the great thing about silver most of the time it comes out of the ground looking like new. Chuck
  11. Walt I have a SP 150 that I don’t see me using this year due to a health problem with my wife. I’ll be willing to loan it to you for as long as I don’t have a need for it. I will ship free to you to use . The soon as I’ll get a out I don’t see me nugget hunting but hope to coin hunt . The only thing if you’re willing to ship back free . If you want to talk about this send me a PM. Chuck
  12. Well I just got off White’s site and now they show the same size coil for both. Now they saying it’s a dual field High Q coil. All is right in the world being we have taken the time to find out the whole story. Chuck
  13. Bohemia Miner What size coil did you get with your Tan TDI SL ? They were showing two different size coils for the Tan and Camo in their ad . I was wondering if that question was answered too or is that still unknown? Chuck
  14. Bohemia Miner What you said about the camo is the reason I don’t have trouble with red one new detector is going to be, Chuck
  15. You know whatever the reason another great guy and his business not there for us anymore. I haven’t heard a word from Jimmy sense he went out of business. Chuck
  16. Hi RickUK Jimmy was a great guy to deal with and gave great service with some great products that carried his name. I bought a TDI from a dealer that was under his distributor with White’s when they came out. It worked great for a while but then had trouble. I’d sent it back three times but on it Jimmy steps in and told Whites to give me a new one. Jimmy wanted to pass the business on to a family member so he could retire but White’s said no you’re not. That made years of service come to a end quick. Oh each time that TDI went back I paid shipping. Chuck
  17. Slav If you have one on order like I do let’s not worry about trouble unless we have some. Your dealer may give you great service before the sale and a while after but Nokta/Makro will be there when others have abandoned you. In my opinion we right now have two great detector companies that offer the greatest service that’s Minelab and Nokta/Makro. In their case both are number one . Chuck
  18. Phrunt Do you have any idea what the cost would be to ship from the US ? It’s got to be a way you can get your hands on one . Just maybe Nokta/Makro can build a fire under that dealers butt . That’s if he wants to continue being a dealer for them. Chuck
  19. Here I sit waiting the day Rob email me that my Simplex + is on the way. The bump in the road has made it somewhat longer but with a little counseling each day until it gets here I think I’ll make it. Chuck
  20. Bohemia Miner Being you the only one here that has the TDI SL with the said hot new coil from White’s we want to hear more from you. If you can will you please run a Pinpointer over the coil to see if you can determine if the coil has a loop on the front end . I know I’m asking a lot but if you find the time a coin air test would be great. We would be so lucky if you have a test garden too. I thank you ahead of time for anything you can give us. Chuck
  21. I’m wondering just how many was sold ? Another thing is why the news on this detector went dead like it’s no more. You can’t sell something if you don’t let people know what you got and let guys like me think that I can’t live without it. I see that some detector companies that’s sitting on their rear and not letting the public know what they have to offer could fall by the wayside. Nokta/Makro should count their blessings that they have Dilek. It’s just too bad others don’t have her . When White’s had Tom he too was another that was a asset to his company .His replacement is Jack I believe and I don’t think he’s been on this forum. I know advertising cost but with all the great forums they could keep some of that expense down. The three fastest communication is telephone telegraph and tell a woman. But in this case when it comes to detectors it’s tell a guy. Chuck
  22. Kac I’ve been there like you said on old coins. One place I hunted we’ll say some years back it was 30 coins I found with all from 1854 up. It was none over half inch deep and most with just a layer of dirt over them Then you dig and dig past 6” to find a modern one newer than a wheat. When that person lost what you found they truly lost some money and may went back looking for it . Now days most people won’t bend over to pick it up . But I can assure you I will! Chuck
