  1. And I think this is it. The area is only 20 feet x 40 feet that has been giving targets and its like there is a line that you cross and all goes quiet. I detected in all directions and with this being soft sand I was able to scrub the sand so could see where I had detected and not missed much. I will just have to keep an eye on it for now for any more changes. This little area has treated me well!! Good Luck to All
  2. You are correct mine is not silver the one that is silver is the one between the dime and the ring, bad pic.
  3. unfortunately it is a kids beach and most of the rings are junk but they did lose coins.
  4. Targets were still plentiful 6 wheats 4 silver coins a silver ring and a silver religious metal. It looks like they pushed the sand out in to the water. Cant forget this.
  5. I took a ride to a local beach and saw this hole that was never there before. Some one had a machine and moved the sand around and left a hole. I have detected this area Quiet with my TDI BH in the past. Today I dug for 3.5 hours non stop all targets were deep as it looks like there was about 6 inches or more of sand removed. I was amazed at what was below. The best of it 3 Buffalos a silver dime a 1956 class ring and a ring like I have never seen, it has the head of a wolf with its mouth open.
  6. Nice find !! You are on the right track , as some of my best land finds were in areas that I had to step the brush down and detect over it. Just think If a tree started growing just after that Quarter was made that tree could be 24 to 36 inches diameter now, so it pays to search it all, woods change. Good luck on your future hunts, Jim
  7. I have ever dug. Being a nice day Friday I went to a beach that I had a 15 minute walk to get where I wanted to hunt. Being a nice day many people were walking the beach, So not having to dodge them or answer questions I went into the water thigh deep and walked down the beach detector on and just pushing it straight not swinging. 5 minutes in I get a signal stop back up locate it 2nd scoop up comes this 8.8 gram 14K Band. It just goes to show that Gold is where you find it. Finished out the hunt with some clad and lead sinkers.
  8. Salt water in a bay. I need light winds no waves and negative tides to get to these chest to shoulder deep.
  9. Hit my favorite beach today and was not disappointed a 1932 collage ring 10k and a signet OB 10k The best of all the coins were 5 Wheats. 2 silver religious items. a Pewter Cross, The shiny silver dot is a Mercury thermometer and it works.
  10. Great Silver haul! that charm looks promising. years back I would clean all my silver. Then I realized it look just like the pile of clad next to it. Now I do not clean silver I leave it all black and crusty as I found it. When I look into my box of silver coins they bring back the memories of finding them.
  11. Temp warmed up along with a low tide during the day.
  12. I have used the 14.8 since day 1 I have never used the 12 volt battery. I have countless hours on it in 2 years it is working just fine.
  13. Doesn't that piece of yellow make the ride home sooo much more enjoyable and shorter !!!
  14. Nice Haul!! All them targets.... All that 50 year old silver and only 1 gold and very little jewelry.. Seems there should be more then that. But you still did Great on the silver. And hats off to you for being at the right place and right time!! Jim
  15. Large black is silver quarter. 2 smaller blacks are silver dimes. the in-between sized is a nickel and I am assuming it is a war nickel because of it being black and all other nickels are not. I dont clean most targets because when I look at them it brings back memories of finding them, if they are cleaned they look like the money in my pocket. Thank you I will wait until next negatives. Its hallow only 2.2 No RI
  16. I got out twice last week to hit the negatives. All were found with a TDI BH waist to chest deep in a drysuit. Both golds are 14k. The Eagle is silver. Water was cold but with this many targets it keeps you warm digging plus yellow warms you up also. 2 silver rings are missing as my Grandkids got them. It used to be just my wife who would claim my treasures.
  17. I also cut the ground wire from coil connector to pcb and wrapped the whole pcb in static shield and put back in housing.
  18. I also had mine mounted on a straight shaft with box mounted behind my elbow, having the wire taped tight all along the shaft is the only way to go. It has not seen any use after getting a TDI BH.
  19. Try asking here. https://www.geotech1.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?6-Coils
  20. Mike with this hair pin from the strength of the signal after I had about 3-4 inches of sand removed from the center where a good target would have been , the signal was too strong to be centered in my hole at that depth so that is when I started looking around the edges for something long not round and found the hairpin. I try to hit old beaches that I know have produced many good finds in the past and where I am has a high possibility of good targets. Knowing this I dig every sound I hear that is repeatable at least in one direction I do not spend time trying to guess what the target is because most of the time digging in sand I have the target out of the hole in less time, in rocks and hard digging I will spend a little time investigating the target. Since I started digging these scratchy weak sounds I have yielded some of my best finds and my share if junk.
