  1. Yea, that is a shame too. There was some good info on there.
  2. That is a shame, I loved reading about it and fully plan on taking part in a couple years when I retire.
  3. I was able to re-register last Friday and took a look at it this morning. Hopefully they'll be able to get at least some of the information off the old site, there was a lot of good stuff on it.
  4. Thank you for the reply Mark. I wish I could be more help to you on this subject but to tell the truth target depth was only one of the things I looked for when I picked the TDI SL and I was willing to give up "extreme" depth in order to satisfy the other requirements. I have seen the posts you are looking for though and if I'm able to find them I'll post for you. Good luck sir.
  5. Not sure this is what you are looking for but there is some great info in it:
  6. Welcome, if what everyone says about the NOX is true you should really enjoy it. Look forward to hearing how you do with it.
  7. Yea, thinking of calling them up and asking what their definition of "Shortly" is lol.
  8. That is a great statement and one I agree with.
  9. Just my opinion: For their price point the AT series are great detectors, they offer many features at a cost that other detectors don't. I think they still have a place in the market for people just starting out that don't want to invest a ton before seeing if detecting is for them.
  10. I had read a rumor they were working on a waterproof version.
  11. Great price on the GM, good find sir. I just picked up a GM Monday afternoon from my local dealer. They helped me sell my AT Gold to help fund the purchase and gave me 100% of its selling price towards the GM, so made sense for me to go through them. I really wanted the 24k but jacking up the price without explanation was enough to turn me away.
  12. This was my first PI machine. I was looking for a lightweight, affordable PI, and the TDI SL was high on my list. When I saw the SE model I researched the Miner John's folded mono coil it came with and really liked what I read about it. I contacted Digger Bob (Comstock Metal Detectors in Paradise CA) and met with him twice prior to purchasing. I am really happy with this detector, it is so easy to use that I was detecting within 5 minutes my first time out with it. It sees targets deep enough that I bought a bigger pick lol and it also found me my first detected gold nugget. I'm working in Northern CA, steep and brushy with soil mineralization's all over the place. The weight, maneuverability and the ability to deal with high soil mineralization/hot rocks has made this my "go to" detector.
  13. This was my first metal detector. Lots of features for a detector in its price range. Pretty easy to use and a great detector to learn with in my opinion. I used both the DD and the super sniper coils, both had their applications. As stated above there is no volume control but I did not have a problem with that since you could adjust the threshold low enough that it did not drive you crazy. As an all around machine for someone just getting into the sport and who does not want to invest a really large sum of money, this is a detector that should be considered.
  14. As of today if you try and go to their forum through their Tech Support page it says basically the same thing, We are currently working on this page and will have it back up and running shortly. Thank you for your patience! White’s Team
  15. There is some great information on the 24k on this forum: https://www.detectorprospector.com/forums/forum/45-whites-metal-detectors/ I don't own either the GM1000 or the 24k but I have been doing research on both as I plan on getting one this spring. They are both great machines from what I can see and I don't think a person could go wrong with either one of them. They both see very small gold, they're both affordable and both come from reputable manufacturers. I would prefer to get the 24k just because it has an adjustable threshold and I'm not getting any younger nor is my hearing getting any better, but as stated I really don't think you can go wrong with either.
  16. That is funny PhaseTech, I've only found the one nugget so far and guess what, I forgot my nugget container in the truck that day! Maybe we're onto something lol.
  17. I'm thinking I need to return my Nugget scoops and get new ones, to date they have only scoop one nugget between them. They must be defective, right? ?
  18. Awesome information, thank you. That actually explains a lot of wide holes I had to dug for square nails last year!
