Steve and all, I still cant believe i got an email back from them as soon as they got back to Turkey!! I had asked a question on their website about dealers---- little did i know Rob was going to be one..... The point is they picked it up that quickly--literally less than 2 days after they got home from the USA trip......and I had an answer---makes me feel like they really care about who I am...exceptional customer communication/service I think i wanna go work for them...lol........in Turkey!!!! paul

Way to go Rob!!! I didnt think you would miss this one!!! pk

New Makro Racer Coming In February
vanursepaul replied to Nokta Detectors's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
Steve could you please till them that i am a cardiac patient and I cant take all the upfront communication!!!!!! hahaahhahaa..... pk -
Exactly Chris! Yes, I normally would like to leave my cell phone in the truck in that cup of water from McDonalds..... Just to make sure it cant interfere with my hunting time...lol
-
Has anyone else notice that if you leave your cell phone in your front pocket that the SDC will false when you swing the coil over to the left---- i couldn't figure it out one day and thought it was that dang pinpointer---but then i remember the deal about not keeping your coil level with the ground on the end of a swing----and remembered that will cause one to make a blurb,,,, Anyway, i finally figured out that when the SDC came across my body and the detector touched my front pocket where the phone was that i was getting a little interference---it was killing me because it was repeatable noise -- AS soon as i moved the phone it quit.... just in case any of you are dumb enough to hunt with your phone on --- paul maybe i should get my shovel back out......

Hahahaaha... detectorists ARE crazy Steve..... To prove my point i stay locked in a psych ward 12 hrs a day,,,,, I know I can turn it down, but I have that nagging feeling that I am going to miss a target..... So guess what--i get toasted and quit earlier---- (that makes sense , huh) When I get on a good patch and hit some good nugs with the gain down I am sure my confidence in running with a lower gain will grow.... Its all about time on the ground and I will admit I havent had enough to get my confidence going good yet...... When I do everything will be fine--- paul

So Im not the only one....... I thought I was going crazy when I ran this baby,,,, I could only compare it to running my old 2100 when i was just getting started out while I was down with BorderBoy in AZ.... I finally learned to listed to it like a radio blaring and just basically learned which sounds to listen too---when my brain got ahold of the right "note" i was better------ but there is no doubt if you crank up the SDC to 5 and try to run a low threshold , it can be maddening after an hour or so..... I almost always try to run at 5 because I think it gives more depth---- is this a fair observation??? There was no doubt when i hit a nugget---- but i did have to listen to a lot of iffy targets/mineralized ground and see if they repeat, all the while trying not to track them out. I need more time on mine and I am interested in hitting some tailing piles/creeks this spring. All just what I am learning-- please keep posting so i may pick up a few ideas... paul

Steve, I bought one of these from Bart at bigboyhobbies and I had trouble with as soon as I fired up my detectors---all PI's ---- I simply could not turn it on near one of them... they screamed like panthers!!!! Bart graciously let me return it, and i went ahead and got a Garrett Pro Pointer from him.... Bearkat4160 has a good youtube comparison of the pinpointers--Minelab, Garrett, and Deteknix.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxLIsGRTUhw Unfortuntely, I saw it too late,,but like i said i was able to return it. paul

Adjustable Tone Break
vanursepaul replied to goldbrick's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Really enjoying the thread folks! -
Thanks for the reply... i will try a liitle higher threshold with my external speaker setup to control volume... i had to go to external speaker because i cant hear diddly...and when i wear headphones i start hearing crazy noises after awhile...

First off, thanks for the add to the forum Steve and secondly i wanna express my thanks for your willingness to do real world tests of all these detectors--that's what means the most to me...how they react on the same undisturbed target. I am looking forward to the comparisons. If you get tired of your FrankenATX i wanna be the first to have a shot at buying it--i love the idea of the weight loss program you have it on. I may have one question---what is your normal set up of the 2300 here in NV?--- [Mine is not as quiet as I expected, of course i run it on 5 sensitivity if i can get away with it and about 2 on the threshold---it almost reminds me of the 2200v2 i had...a little warbly.....I am afraid to run it on the lower sensitivity settings because i am afraid i lose too much depth]--- What say you? Chris you can chime in too--or anyone else for that matter---- i really like his forum---it is educational for me...
