  1. That would be a winning hunt in my book! I think i see a small bracelet with pearl on it! And an earring! And a small button thing above it! What are they? Junk jewelry? Show us all the rings! And i see a large spike, or square nail! What is that?👍👍
  2. Great information about yourself! Thanks! Sorry findmall shut down, with your posts! But you found your way here! Their loss is our gain! Steve's a great host, and i think you will feel right at home here! Good hunting, and welcome again!👍👍
  3. Hello MachineMan, Welcome to the forum! Hope you get that speaker fixed! Come back and tell us what type of hunting you do, and post some finds!👍👍
  4. Yes Colonel, It's a black, unpadded, nylon cover! I will try what you suggested! Thanks! 👍👍
  5. It could be the humidity, combined with with heat! Maybe the differential of taking it from A/C inside my house to outdoors! Sort of like the way my glasses fog up when i go outside! I did check the battery compartment for moisture after cleaning, but did not find any! I Don't know! Unless ML will tell me what Er 41 is! I will email them and ask! I just figured they would just say send it in for a check!👍👍
  6. Hey Steve, I am just about finished with making my own counterweight! It's an old brass hose nozzle i dug up last year! With a solid steel drawer pull, and steel insert! Weights in right at 13oz.! And moved the center of gravity back about 6 inches on the Nox! Feel's great! All i have left to do is wrap it with grip tape or paracord! 👍👍 Update: Done!👍👍
  7. Hey Tom, Thanks for asking! I went over it from top to bottom, after i got home and cleaned it up from the beach that day! I used it again last week in a fresh water hunt, and had no issues! I'm still of the opinion that it was a heat issue, but as of yet, i have no proof! I plan on duplicating the conditions soon to see if it is repeatable! Than i will contact ML to send it back for a checkup! I've been reading so much good Nox info on the forum lately, that I'm "chomping at the bit" to hunt some more; even with this miserable heat here in SF! But i will update here, if i find out anymore!👍👍
  8. Hey Cap, You are obviously well into the Knox, and are asking some great questions for all of us still learning it's nuances! Listen well to the pro's here, and keep the adjustments to a minimum! The program's in the Knox are solid, and the majority of the time, they work great! Sometimes i mess with one of the presets accidentally in bright sunlight, and have to do a reset to get it back to normal! A test garden; or even air testing in the A/C is mostly where i play with the custom stuff! (A/C for now, too hot, and too many mosquitoes to experiment outside!) But my actual hunting time is rather limited due to family obligations, so i only make limited adjustments in the field! Now, that is just my opinion!! No reflection on your's! Keep asking questions! I love to hear both them, and the responses!👍👍
  9. No!, Simon is already a Ninja! A "Coin Ninja"! (With long pants)!😂👍👍
  10. Yes Sir, Family first! Money and toys are down the list! Woodworking is an underappreciated art! Hope the family treasures it for a very long time! Send me a (pm), or us some pics, when you are done! If you don't mind!👍👍
  11. I'm of the opinion it came with a hairline crack, and just finished off with normal handling! No fault on either end really! Bad for you today, but good info for the other 99 Limited buyers tomorrow! We knew the Limited would have a delicate rear end! But wow! Good news is, no one with an AQ is probably going to beat you to your intended spot!💍💍👍👍
  12. I would think with that kind of "custom" made canoe, an aficionado would pay "big bucks" for it!! I'm sure you know what they are worth! Than you could buy a nice "Old Town Canoe", another detector, and still have cash left!🛶💰 Just a layman's opinion!👍👍(Your's is seriously too nice to beat around in!)
  13. Hello again Captain, Now you're "cookin' with gas"! Thanks for the intro, and we will now be "seeing" you around!👍👍

    Gold

Well Steve, With most people, they would be told to get a bigger plate! But in your case......... Ex: Steve's plate now; 🌏 Steve's projected plate**; 🍽 **Disclaimer: Future projections are not an indicator of future results!👍👍
  15. Hello again George, I ment to ask you; is that canoe in the picture your handiwork? Those are some "Mad" skills! (I think i used that term correctly?!)👍👍
  16. Hello Captain, Did you post an introduction in the Meet and Greet? If not, please do so, then we can give you a proper welcome! Glad your here! 👍👍
  17. Thank's Compass, Im already learning from you! I had a similar hunt just yesterday; but without the gold!😂 I will try the Gold 2 mode on my next fresh water hunt! Nice finds!👍👍
  18. Welcome back George, Glad to have you experience here! I actually found your "first" post a few minutes ago! Keep up the info and finds!👍👍
  19. Hello Jay, Great area you live in! Bring on the finds!👍👍
  20. I guess my next purchase should be a mini-sub with arms, to hold my detector and scoop! Than ill be safe from all threats! ( 🎶...Yellow Submarine...🎶,)🤣👍👍
  21. Sorry Steve, I ment "depth" in a more generic term than i may have stated! I get that the AQ is a more "focused detector" than other PI's before it! I understand that there is more to detecting than "raw depth" onto itself! Hence the intent to split into several specific models! You've done the "dig everything" routine, and are acutely aware of where you would like to focus! I, myself have never used a PI, and am considering weather my beach detecting would warrant the expense to purchase the AQ, or another more generic "dig it all" PI! I still love finding coins, as well as jewelry, and other metal targets; especially on the Treasure Coast! The AQ is shaping up to be an awesome addition to a stable of PI's, but I'll probably only be able to make that "one" purchase into that realm, for a long time forward! So i am just a student, for the time being!👍👍
  22. Thanks Steve, That has to be one of the clearest layman explanations I've seen on PI's! So what do you think is going to be the "Special Sauce" for the AQ to be deeper than your previous PI experiences?? If any?? Other than what you've stated previously!👍👍
  23. Hello all, I was able to get out for a few hours hunt today! I charged up the 800 last night , and needed to test it! After the Er 41 error i had, and posted about, a few days ago at the beach! Steve's Lake Tahoe Hunt yesterday with the AQ inspired me to search my childhood memories for a place where i could fresh water hunt near home! Not an easy task here in South Florida, beleve it or not!! There are tons of freshwater canals! But very few lake's that weren't for some modern housing development drainage basin in the last 20-30 years! And they weren't ever ment to be used for recreation! Let alone anything with a beach that had any history of use! And yes, there are still quite a few alligators 🐊 around to be mindful of!! So "head on a swivel" is a must! Among other hazards! So i drove by some of the spots i could remember from years ago! Two of the three that came to mind were closed off!! It wasn't looking good! The last one was just right, with few people nearby! So i gave it a shot! I didn't come to the realization that i had never detected fresh water before, until i was swinging the detector in it!🤯 So i spent the next two and half hours enjoying the experience! What a nice change it was, not getting pummeled by the surf of the beaches! I've got to find more places now, I'm hooked! I would have liked to end my adventure with a nice piece of gold or silver jewelry! But that wasn't the case this time out!! I found many bottle caps of various stages of decomposition! And a respectable amount of clad and zincons! But wait!! The story ain't over yet!! Generally, I'm not in the habit of looking at my finds very good when I'm hunting, i just seperate the trash from the treasure, and clean and sort later! Especially when i am alone, and there are eyes on me!👁👁 I had vaguely noticed that one of my "treasures" was odd sized! Bigger than a quarter, and smaller than the 69' Kennedy that i found at the beginning of the year! It was "coin" sized and solidly encrusted, so in with the coins it went! Along with a few other encrusted smaller coins! I can generally tell, with salt water encrusted coins, what they are! But i was in new territory with these few! My time was up, so i headed home! I did my usual dumping and sorting of the pouch contents, on my tailgate for a gross decon! Then off for a soak, cleaning, and examination! The "odd" coin was giving me a hard time, so i had to soak longer than the rest! I just figured it was some odd alloy, or some kind of blank that was probably trash! But i was still careful! The persistance paid off, and although it was badly corroded, and very thin! Enough details surfaced to identify it! It was a "bucket lister" for me, even though it's pretty much worthless monetarily!!👍👍 And now the unveiling: 1935 Walking Liberty Half Dollar!! 😵 In Sad condition!! 😩
