  1. I too feel like i was catching " New Toy Syndrome" from hanging around here with you all!🀣 I will just have to go back to "Reality Rehab", and use what i have for now! Thank's for reminding me Dr. Steve!😞 Now leave me alone, to drown my sorrows in a cup of "Get Over It"! I think i will dust off my old Bounty Hunter 840, go for a hunt, and post some finds with it! "Whats old can be new again"πŸ€₯😞🎻 🎢🎢🎢
  2. Welcome Rick, Like you, i too took a long break from detecting, and came back in 2015! Still plenty of stuff to find! I mainly use a Treasure products Vibraprobe 585 pinpointer! I also have a Garrett carrot as a backup! But there is a greater selection now! Shop around! Same with digging tools and scoops! Shop the reputable dealers! I'm sure others here will chime in with suggestions! Just ask away! Good luck! And keep us posted!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  3. Hey BigWillie, and Welcome, Looks like you have been at this awile, so give us an idea of your hunting preferences/finds/pictures/stories! Also your "weapon(s)" of choice! Good Luck πŸ‘πŸ‘
  4. Welcome Ketch, As was said previously, new detectors are rolling out as we speak! Budget, and expected targets are a good starting point! Local knowledge, and research can also help guide your decision making process! Ask lots of questions, and think of all types of areas you may want to search! That will guide you to the right detector! Good LuckπŸ‘πŸ‘
  5. Welcome Go Ducks, How long have you been detecting? Any other detectors besides the 600? Good luck!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  6. Hello Ed! And welcome, Your background may give you a leg up on the competition! You can pick Steve's (the boss here) brain for a suggested starting point!( equipment, locations, etc..) There are also many other experienced individuals here to assist in your endeavor! Good luck with the new hobby!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  7. Welcome to the forum Mottic, I'm in Forida, but i did find this for you! Sorry it's not a link! Just a screen shot! Good luckπŸ‘πŸ‘
  8. Like Chase, I've never had any issues with batteries; in any of my detectors except my very old Bounty Hunter(3x9v), as i recall! But that was over 30 years ago!! Even my AT pro with AA's lasted many long hunts! Only high load/drain items use battery charge quickly! (my yard blower)!! I would hazard a guess that other than PI's (of which i don't own one as of yet) most detectors manufactured in the last several years, would not put any appreciable drain on them! With that being said, when i carry a backpack detecting long stretches anywhere, i always have a battery bank phone charger just in case! But i have yet to use it, even on all day hunts!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  9. Hello Maxxkatt, Welcome! Love Blue Ridge, and Stone Mountain areas North of you! Also an AT Pro and Knox 800 user! It's a great hobby, with great people here!! Keep on learning, and digging!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  10. Hello and Welcome, ALS! I retired in 2016, and picked up detecting again the year before, after a 35 year hiatus! It was like riding a bike! You picked a great time, with so many great new detectors to choose from, in a fantastic price range! Read and learn here, before you buy!! Good Luck!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  11. Welcome Boog, And Good Luck! Sounds like a "marathon" your undertaking! Have you tried detector gold hunting, or is this just an expansion from detecting for you? Keep us posted on your progress!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  12. Welcome D, And good luck on the build! Create something new, and you will have some eager testers here! Get to Innovating!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  13. Beyond the tech, and who's detector is better at what pricepoint! It's just as important to build anticipation, introduce, and bring to market, all in an ordered and timely fashion! Screw any of these up; as we have seen from others! And the innovations don't mean a hill of beans!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. I didn't even make any good finds to warrant this kind of attention!!! Soooo, THIS is what it feels like to be Simon!! (Phrunt)πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ Ok, fun is fun! Don't make Steve "come back there"!! His edit finger is getting itchy!! Back on subject!πŸ‘πŸ‘ (Yes i know!! You guys were talking about Brent WeaverπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ! Not me!)πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  15. Wow Rob, you would be great for my ego; if i had one!πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ But no, I am just hard on my equipment i guess! But i do take care to clean and maintain after almost every hunt! Especially after the beach! And if i was ever good at attracting women, those days are long gone! At least that's what my wife tells me, anyway!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ‘
  16. What is everyone's take on having US and International coinage on one machine??? Other than the obvious savings on two detectors!! Is this simply a function of software?; so any manufacturer can do this; to compete with the Apex?? Or is there a hardware component??? I'm glad they used a better grip! I hope the arm cuff is aluminum this time, the plastic one's always snap off on me, no matter the manufacturer! (water use puts a lot of strain on the cuffs)πŸ‘πŸ‘
  17. Hey all, Did anyone see or hear if the software is updatable by computer thru the charging port?? I may have missed it! ThanksπŸ‘πŸ‘
  18. And BeachHunter, The Yellow can be fixed with a Sharpie , or a cover!πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ And after all, you do have a Yellow VW Bus as your icon!!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  19. I like it!! Look's like this may be the replacement for my AT Pro! And OMG!! they are going to have more coils forthcoming! What a Novel idea!! Will wonders never cease!!!πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ€―πŸ‘πŸ‘ Garrett Ace Apex LCD display and controls
  20. Nice mod Simon, I love to see the evolution of a product to make it more functional! Tell your friend, nice work!! Keep us posted on function and mods!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  21. Welcome Skiddim, Hoping for a healthy baby, and momma! Great that the family show an interest in the hobby! Makes it that much better! Great people here, and plenty of knowledge to be shared! Good luck!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. Welcome Blue, City hunting can be tough, but rewarding! Get a buddy or three for parks and questionable areas; fewer finds but better safety! And the group research can really pay off! If you don't mind the getting permissions, than yard hunting is a great solitary and safer bet! Great history there! Good hunting!πŸ‘πŸ‘
  23. Welcome Garylee, I've been using the AT Pro for years, and have done well with it! Even though i have other better detectors, its sort of like slipping into an old comfortable pair of shoes! When i just want to detect on autopilot, i use it! Sorry for the job loss! If it was something you loved doing, it will come back to you in one way or another! Good luck with the detecting, and enjoy the escape! It really is therapeutic!πŸ‘πŸ‘
