  1. Used mine in a nice area New River AZ, but no gold found today ......
  2. The XP ORX is a great machine....I love it but she doesn't like hot ground-hot rocks..... Drives her crazy.....
  3. Man that sounds like hot ground to me not good ground..... Using a double D and using it on minimal sensitivity-Gain to avoid noise means it's super hot ground, maybe one of the hot ground Australian friends can help you.
  4. I went ahead and ordered a 24" Hermit ...... from Bunks Arizona Prospecting...... I bought an Apex pic but it's top heavy and no matter how hard I try and even pulling sideways to pull dirt out of a hole it's head (shovel) section is too small ......
  5. I checked man..... they want the same price of the pick for shipping to Arizona USA ..... and it will take 4-6 weeks delivery time .....
  6. What ever happened to WALCO picks ? I have an old one I purchased from Doc's 10 years ago that the head has become so small, it takes me (2 hours) to dig a hole and was looking to purchase a new one .....
  7. Well if a gold miner from Arizona in 1865 is travelling back home to New York loaded with gold nuggets after the civil war and had a hole in his nugget sack, he could have dropped nuggets all the way there. So finding gold nuggets across the United States can be a possibility.
  8. I saved everything to buy a GPX 4500 ....... I can't believe it took me a long time to be able to get one in the year 2020 ...... So if there is a new release Minelab PI I should have it by the year 2030 ....... which will make me ..... 65 years old ......
  9. Do you think a GPX 4500 can detect a 32 ounce nugget at 14" inches ?
  10. I have seen some barely used for under $4,000.00 US..... You just have to be patient and search .....
  11. Wanted to show an area for today...... New River Arizona.... Found some tiny gold... And a picture of the famous Jumping Cholla Cactus....... Grab one and your life will change.....
  12. Man with lunkers like these I could buy a good metal detector. This is as big as I get ....
  13. Nice beat ....It looks like in Scottsdale Arizona .......
  14. That's wonderful terrain to prospect...... Here in Arizona it's nice, but dangerous vegetation...... I rolled down a canyon and onto a large Jumping Cholla bush and got this cholla balls stuck all over arms, legs and back that can't be removed except with a pair of pliers, and due to the excruciating pain and the way the fish hooks attach to any skin ...... I was air lifted into a Phoenix emergency room where I was put out to have them removed under anesthesia......More painful than getting blown up in Iraq ..... Thanks for such a beatiful posting..... Made me feel like I was there !!!!!........... That last picture is all the vegetation that hurts you ! Ha ha ....
  15. Oh this is a tough beat brother ...... believe me .... you have to climb up there to detect......
  16. Arizona is a tough country lad ......Ha ha .... and in the summer even more fun with 115 degree Fahrenheit temps .....
  17. The 20" Python is also known as a Bicep muscle ..... which equals a big arm........ When you detect out 2 to 5 miles to the top of a 2,000 foot hill and detecting the top and bottom through washes and boulders and dangerous vegetation and cactus and then hiking back to the car down hill like a mountain goat...... It's easy to climb and detect up a mountain, but it's harder coming down...... I get injured and roughed up and skuffed and bruised up and tripping and falling from sliding gravel and quartz..... It's a rough way down carrying a backpack, picks and two metal detectors....... You just want to make it back to the truck....... Specially after an 8 hour day digging up lead. These are pictures I take while detecting .....
  18. If they got rid of their bread and butter GPX 4500 then another piece of bread and butter needs to be found....... The GPZ is for most consumers like buying a new truck..... So for a normal consumer it's out of reach unless you sell one of your children or get a second mortgage. I would release a new GPX 7000 or GPX 6000 at an affordable $1,599 price but you can see they are lowering the quality of the machines by releasing plastic GPZ and plastic Gold Monsters and charging crazy prices ...... It's all about bottom line and not about the consumer !
  19. I used it yesterday for (6) hours and it's easy to handle.... The battery is lightweight aluminum so it's not heavy and I have 20" inch pythons to carry it around for 5 to 10 miles away from the truck and carry it back on my shoulder...... It's an easy machine to carry around....... but man get ready to dig deep .....
  20. The covers are easily available on Rob's detectors web site ...... I think he has them on sale..... https://www.robsdetectors.com/azo-control-box-cover/
