  1. No offense as you are a big contributor to this forum with many interesting articles. Why be so harsh on the Deus ll? I own 19 detectors now and it and my Fisher AQ are the deepest. It is my most versatile detector also. Unlike other detectors it tells me the frequency used for each 12 programs which is of great importance to me. And the antenna just clips on, not screws. Nothing silly about this machine phrunt. Again thank you for your many articles as they are all very informative. Your off just a little on the D2 in my humble opinion.
  2. A well known “surf church Sunday” good friend of mine, took his Manticore on its maiden voyage today in the dirt. Way to go Max! Moderator, move to different Minelab forum if you chose so please.
  3. Steve, you must have Popeye arms or a backhoe 😂. Excellent work!!!
  4. I’m scared the personalized small brick and mortar dealers will meet the fate of most corner hardware stores, when Lowe’s and Home Depot showed up.
  5. I can run beach sensitive 93 sensitive 1 reactivity 0 silencer pitch and I do balance in wet sand. I run magnetic sand mostly accepted and salt 7. As Cheddar said move slow. If I have issues I run magnetic rejected. Top right button GB. Then toggle thru past grab and tracking to magnetic ( accept/reject ). You may need to run reject.
  6. You did not say if your setting for black sand was accepted or rejected ?
  7. Hi Ridge Runner, awhile back I posted my last conversation with Dimitar about upcoming new detectors. No time line given but he definitely has a new machine in mind with different features. He does not want to discuss openly as he feels like his salt balance was borrowed on two more popular machines so he is keeping his new technology under raps. As far as posting here, I doubt that will happen as he speaks English well but writing is a bit of an issue for him. He is always ready to talk on the phone so give him a call.
  8. If we are going to start renaming like we did with the Equinox, my vote for the Manticore is M core. JMHO. I have seen both used previously.
  9. Bottom line. It was a marketing ploy of which many took the bait. All reports seem to convey that it is a excellent beach machine with great depth. I also believe with a new update in the future the iron issues should be resolved. For me though the jury is still out on the proprietary head phones.
  10. Joan Allen Detectors on Twitter announcer New Quest V60 & V80. Specs on questmetaldetectors.com. Not sure if this is a release or what.
  11. Alexandre told us all it takes 15 min. for the AQ to warm up. As Clive stated, I am one of the ones who has set his pot and never needed to adjust the threshold. After that fifteen min. warm up two years ago it has not moved. I adjust with the pots on my headphones if needed. Hell, tear it open now Joe. You got a spare. I believe you will be second behind Dennis though.
  12. The shield needs to be removed. Also I see 3 different lengths of antenna offered by XP for sale. I think length is NOT a factor. Nice job. On another note, has anyone seen a clear cover for the WS6 master ? It’s my dirt diggin machine and I’m trying to keep the dirt and mud off.
  13. Gary, is there any gain or loss from using the filters in the following way ? He used disc. 10 / notch 11 thru 40. If he used disc. 6 / notch 7 thru 40 Does one filter suffer the depth over the other, or would the loss of depth due to filter used make a difference?
  14. Tones, Tones, Tones, updatable. That’s my wishes. Good luck on your spin. On another note, Dew told me several years ago, Dimitar had one in his driveway beating the living daylights out of it and the screen with a hammer. Now that’s tough!!!
  15. It is the exact same width and one inch longer in the heel and one inch longer in the toe. It’s foot print is a bit larger than that. Dwarfs the 9” All and all I think it’s not worth the money over the eleven inch. JMHO. I do find it being used more than the 11” at the beach though. Mostly psychological I think though. They all pin point well for me in the sand. The weight of the 13” is not really that noticeable unless compared to the 9” on my XP lite shaft. I still think though the 11” is the one to beat.
  16. Couldn’t make up my mind soooooo. Good side by side for judgement.
  17. That is for the WS6 module only. I use this for the RC.
  18. It does not appear to be the same. I don’t know if it’s printed or not. Time will tell. I don’t have a problem with the stock coil. I have a problem shopping on line Lol.
  19. Not the same seller. I have no idea if it’s 3D printed or not.
  20. I guess a picture is worth a thousand words. Everything inside the blue circle is plastic not metal. The antenna bumps up against the back inside of the mounting bracket. Since I coil my cable so to facilitate complete closing of the lower shaft a tie wrap secures the end in place so it does not spring back into the shaft when fully opened.
  21. I found some in Ukraine made for the 13” x 11”. I will let you know how they work. Delivery by tank and horse back so may be awhile.
  22. As long as it is not submerged it will work. Since the WS6 is not waterproof I see no reason to exit the plastic retaining clip for the puck. For the RC to be submerged I really have no idea if I use the RC and submerge if it still will work not clipped. I’ll give it a try and get back to you in a few days.
  23. The upper shaft is metal therefore it prevents the signal unless you run it all the way into the plastic retainer that the RC snaps onto. I coiled my cable like the CTX and ran it all the way up to the retainer and held it in place with a plastic tie wrap so it works with my WS6 module.
