  1. Same detector. Although it says available with an 8” or 12 1/2” coil previously only the 12 1/2” was available.
  2. This is my drawing except someone has added pin 6 as pos. 4 & 5 are pos. and neg. for bone phones square tone only. 1 & 2 are pos.and neg. for speaker phones square and PWM tones. I do not know what pin 6 does.
  3. Midalake, do you own a Deus ll ? Just curious.
  4. The problem is your hand sliding up the shaft into the bottom of the RC. A generous wrap of vet wrap or bat wrap at the top of the handle will stop your hand from sliding up and provides a better grip. JMHO
  5. Beach and beach sensitive work extremely well here in Virginia not only in and out of the salt water but have also found buttons on land from the war of 1812. i have not used the dive program though as the others search in the frequencies I am most interested in.
  6. Can anyone tell me the difference if any between notch OFF and 00:00 ?
  7. As you probably know. A metal detector alone does little good. Many accessories will be needed depending on what she hunts. Good luck with your choice.
  8. When I’m detecting I’m all about detecting !!! My friend Joe hunts with his eyes closed. That is my mind set. All about the detector. By the way he like me is primarily a water hunter. I have been diggin in the dirt though lately. Same applies. My ears are all about the machine. Good luck everybody!
  9. I run a modified beach program in my mild (88, 89) soil for buttons. Disc. 7.0, notch 7=48. Sensitivity 99, reactivity 1, salt 9, iron volume 3, audio response 7, WSA ll XL phone volume down, audio out 7, pitch, square, silencer 0. I have a similar program in dive and beach sensitive but I prefer beach modified. For iron false I just pull the coil back off the target if it is not a clear signal and I hear the iron grunt a bit I pass it up. These seem to be the deepest programs with air tests of many different targets. 3 spins with my friend Max.
  10. I see Tennesseesharpshooter says he has a new WS6 testing changes in the software and Andy’s wife Charlene tells me Andy has the new beta version for testing so I would say we are very close now.
  11. I just thinned the clevis a bit and skipped the plastic washers. Works great.
  12. As many know, the Simplex/Legend CF shaft fits well. Slight modification to the clevis is required. Also about 2 1/2” longer and 6 grams lighter than the stock lower shaft.
  13. I talked with Andy’s wife Charlene this week about a book I was supposed to get when I bought my Deus ll one year ago. She told me specifically that Andy was testing the newest beta version, now soon to be released. No date though. Then of course most have seen Calabash’s video that implies he may know something and would be releasing more info today or tomorrow on the Deus ll. Who knows when for sure, not me. Good luck everybody.
  14. Send GEOTECH Carl Moreland a pm or maybe George Kinsey one also.
  15. Not very pretty but works. Rain, mud, dirt & dust. I ordered the covers for the WS6 only to figure out it will not fit inside the shaft mount for the WS6. Sooooo.... I bought the stretchy cups and after cutting out the clear plastic cover, with a small bead of silicon, secured it in the modded cover. Not the prettiest thing but functional. You could just use the stretchy cup by itself once you know the programs you want to use although a bit hard to see. Maybe a better ( clear ) stretchy cup is available somewhere.
  16. Steve, do you mind telling what state you are in ? Is it lead or steel shot ? Nice save !
  17. 115 cm is just a tad over 45 inches.
  18. I use my deus ll in heavy violent at times surf with no problems so this should be no worse. It does appear not to be submersible though?, wireless phones blue tooth?, so maybe a wader only?
  19. I would say you have a faulty coil if you have had that many bad experiences. Call your dealer and send it back. I also think maybe you should not have sanded down the ridges on the skid plate as they hold the charging connector tight to its charging pins. At any rate I wish you well and no more charging issues. Again for me I don’t even look at the icons. I just always connect the charging cable supplied with the Deus and forget it. Normally a 4 or 5 hr spin on a full charge for the RC, coil & phones requires around 1 hour charge for all to be full. This is the charger I use.
  20. My Tarsacci is selectable single frequency (6.4) (9) (12) & (18). Runs deep and smooth as silk on salt beach. Maybe they were pokin around one of those.
  21. Hi phrunt, again thanks for all your inputs as most are very informative. I just have to agree to disagree with you on the Deus ll. I’m not really sure what the ratio of water hunters as myself there is to dirt diggers but I would say it’s heavily stacked in favor of dirt. Therefore the silly antenna as you describe it only comes into play for a low percentage. I myself use the antenna in the Atlantic Ocean with zero issues so I am well pleased. For those who discuss the charging, for myself, most of my spins are in the five hour range. When I return home after cleaning, I just install the charging cable on the coil, RC and the WS6 and plug into my 8 bank charger with a visual screen that shows the charge rate. As each device reaches peak they shut down and when all are done the charger shows 0.00 output and I’m done. My WSA ll XL phones charge with their supplied cable. The charger shows what bank is finished or not. Piece of cake. On another note, my friend Denny, has had some medical issues and has been unable to detect since the end of August 2022. He leaves his detector in his unheated garage. Yesterday he looked at the charge icons for the coil and RC to see how depleted the coil was since it’s been in standby mode. Below is the picture he sent me after six months of idle use and zero charging . It surprised me. Good luck everybody.
