  1. Maybe you could have locked the wheels on the cart and made a sled and slid it down.
  2. My 2nd detector back in 1963 was the same as the 3rd from the left, top row, I believe it was called a Gold Master. The only gold I ever found with it was a gold ring in the Denver City park. Those BFOs were not very deep and the batteries were kinda spendy. Found lots of shallow coins tho.
  3. I have a GB2 a GBP Pro a GMT an F75 and a Deus, don't think I need another VLF nugget hunter. Since I am not familiar with the Fors I was just wondering. I agree the GB2 is the best for small, small, gold, but not as deep on larger pieces.:-)
  4. I have a GB 2, a GB Pro a GMT an F 75 and a Deus so I don't think I need another Vlf detector for nugget hunting. I an not familiar with the Fors, was just wondering.
  5. Will the Nokta find the grainsize pcs. and smaller of gold as well as the GB2?
  6. Fisher used to make a 3" round coil for the original GB, it would work great. I think I still have the coil but not the detector.
  7. I did the same thing with a Surf Master, it leaked in salt water while it was on, I dried it & it was ok.
  8. Some of the after market coils for ML P.I.s are very spendy and all you get is a coil not another detector.
  9. Years ago I dropped a original Gold Bug in tne Yuba river, fished it out and opened it up, sat it on a rock in the sun. A hour later it was working just fine.
  10. I was was only responding to the statement that it was called having a "fragile frame". Try that test with a GB.

  12. I have a GB2 and a Deus,I too prefer the GB for prospecting but I don't feel the Deus has a fragile frame, if fact IMO its stronger than the GB2 frame altho its more flexible
  13. Since the f75 and the GB Pro have enough sensitivity to detect grain sized gold maybe the Sun Day probe would too when used on those detectors Oops I forgot To use a period
  14. IMO The Falcon would not have the depth. The Sunray work off of the detector electronics of the detector so it should have decent depth but may not be sensitive enough on small pieces.
  15. Has anyone tried using a Sunray probe for small nugget hunting? It seems to me that a sunray probe attatched to shaft of a GB Pro or a F75 would work great in places where a larger coil would be too big, like in cracks and around rocks. Since the Sunray workes off of the detectors control box it should have good depth and sensitivity.
  16. I can still use a vlf (GB 2 hip mounted) all day, at almost 80 yrs old i can't even lift a SD or a GP any more. LOL
  17. I noticed that the battery was only good for four hours, it must use a different batt pac than the other TDIs and many users would need two to hunt all day
  18. I assume that ML, Coiltec, ML and Nuggetfinder coils will work on it ??????
  19. Yea , mine works that way, but the F75 coil doesn't work on the GB P, it kinda works but won't ground balance.
  20. In gold wt. that's 7 ounces. Chris is right look like Rye Patch chevron gold, but I never heard of any that big from there. Wonder if its placer gold
  21. I had tried this a few years ago without much success but couldn't remember why. Today tried my 5"GB Pro coil on my f75 and it seemed to work ok, but when I put the f75 6" elliptical on the GB Pro it wouldn't ground balance. It may be my dirt, the ground phase reads,97,and that's what the gb reads also, if I manually GB up to 99.9 it is still out of bal. After doing this I now remember why it didn't work and I think it was the same for the larger coils also.
