  1. I join Skate and others in wishing for healing for your mom, that would be the best treasure of all.
  2. Flbchbm, very interesting point. "... I get diggableTIDs where I believe other detectors that have gone over the same spill just averaged everything into a TID that would indicate junk..."
  3. I love my Equinox. It is a learning experience every time I take it out. The ability to change modes is unique, at least to me. I am learning it's tonal language and have been using 50 tones which is a huge leap in itself. I'm a happy camper.
  4. Very cool Randy. My aids won't do that but it's nice to know someone has worked it out.
  5. Wow. That is seriously coincidental. Nice going to both of you.
  6. I generally do hunt by the tones...just not too experienced with 50, but here we go...
  7. I am comfortable with 5 tones but your comment about stuffing things into 5 compartments got me thinking. I am going to shift to 50 tones and dispite the slight discomfort (it's a lot of tonal input), I'll give it a go for a few weeks and see what I learn. Thanks...
  8. Steve (and everyone), I might have missed it, but are you mainly hunting in 50 tones then? Thanks...
  9. Thanks Steve. I have tried several times and so far no luck. I'm open to suggestions.
  10. Slightly off topic, but will hearing aids that have bluetooth pair up with the Equinox? I tried today a few different ways and didn't have any luck.
  11. Actually polite disagreement is what makes this forum go. It is the differences that add to our knowledge. It's especially true when people with an abundance of knowledge and experience, work out their differences in ways that educate us all. Thanks...
  12. Yes Cal_Cobra, me too. From the way the 800 has worked on the beach and in the parks I have been working in, there seems to be a real possibility this may be a great (lightweight), possibility for finding gold. Can't wait to be able to try it out. Thank Steve and Lunk et al, for alluding to the possibility.
  13. Lunk how do you reckon it will do on larger pieces?
  14. Nice going Mitchel, that's encouraging for the Equinox.
  15. I don't care if the Equinox tips over when I lay it down. I just don't.
  16. I always ground-balance, a holdover from using PI's where it's a must.
  17. Hi Steve, just musing, not implying I'm stating fact. It will be fun to hear about it.
  18. I would think any half-way decent detector would have found it, but it's fun that it was an Equinox...
  19. Now there's a provocative post. Wow... Interested to hear and see the story.
  20. Really? That is quite amazing if it is true.
