  1. Hello friends, I’ve created a song which would be close and clear to those who share metal detecting idea. Vladimir Poryvaev, well-known in Russian area, inspired me to create it. But I want to present it to everyone, who is directly or indirectly engaged in metal detecting. And everyone who likes this song can use it in to his advantage. Good luck everyone, and treasures.
  2. Typical contrived test in that a gold ring is a near perfect target. Still, I am noting that the Gold Racer at 56 kHz is different than most machines and does have some unique ferrous handling capability. The only problem is the machine is very hot, and can produce some really sparky responses on flat steel that will fake you out. The response time as shown however is near instantaneous and quite impressive in some locations.
  3. OK, I am an Alaskan and so no stranger to foul language. This video is great just because it is real and yes, you do not want to watch if cuss words bother you. Me, I have to admit I just smile watching it. You have been warned!
  4. Best gold hunting video I have seen of pocket gold hunting in NW USA. Always wondered what this serpentine/greenstone really looked like plus contact zones, how to read geology maps vs Natl Forest maps, etc.. http://www.goldpannersguide.com/#!bookstore/mvjm7 Looks like I will be buying some more gold books/videos for my library from this place...not much info around on Pocket gold hunting.. One of their online videos is from ICMJ and explains how the western states got to where they are today, mining wise, and why all the hassles vs 1872 and whats being done to try to resolve it.
  5. https://www.facebook.com/groups/270817552932590/ Ok, I'm going to try something here. I'm not sure it will transfer over to the forum or not. This is a VERY cool movie that was shot sometime in the early 1930's. It shows the road from Yreka (essentially) to Happy Camp, Calif. Note the narrow, one lane, rock slides, old cars and buildings, and especially, about half way through, a bucket dredge working the Klamath River. Note also the multiple tailing piles all along the river. There is no sound so don't try that. This was posted on a Yreka facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Yreka.News/videos?ref=page_internal I've no idea how someone found it but it shows how much has changed, and yet how little. Digger Bob
  6. You also get to see the new GPZ 19 coil being tested. There is explanatory text to accompany the video at http://www.minelab.com/usa/go-minelabbing/treasure-talk/in-the-ground-is-where-detecting-really-counts
  7. Here's the final video of my latest gold prospecting trip to Scotland, hope you like it
  8. Well time is coming for me to dust off the Zed and take a walk about in WA again. I keep my eyes out for interesting video's in youtube from time to remind myself of what I should be listening for. The following vid is a pretty good one in that not only does the man find a great patch but keeping your ears on he demonstrates the audio for these beautiful chunky pieces. Granted its all pretty shallow stuff, for the Zed, and he's in Victoria's milder ground but I still found myself figuring the size of his finds just with the audio he presents as he sweeps the Zed. Only things missing for my ears are the complex trebly and deep grunt signals I've heard with my own experience. However the big one in the video gets pretty close to the complicated trebly signal I love to dig on. This video has me psyching up and is a great inspiration :) I hope he keeps finding the good stuff. Me~ hehh I'll get a little something but I hope people here will pick up on those signals and be inspired as well.
  9. Here's a video covering day 1 of my most recent gold prospecting trip to Scotland (last weekend), the video covers about 4 hours of prospecting, pumping material, sluicing and panning it out, I hope you enjoy :)
  10. Ok, not gold or prospecting technically, but this kid has some real creative ideas. Remember the "gold from home depot sandbags" idea that hit the forums a few years ago? Well similarly, turns out you can also get platinum from the roads. He goes through a pretty simple fire assay demonstration too for any who wonder how it works. An interesting channel for those who enjoy vids - he's also reopening up his grandpas old hard rock mine, doing single jacking by hand, making his own charges, etc I find it all pretty interesting and entertaining to follow along with.
  11. Well done video showing the responses on found targets compared between White's MX Sport and Garrett AT Pro. These machines are fairly comparable although the AT Pro lacks the true threshold based all metal mode that is offered on the MX Sport. The Garrett AT Gold adds that mode and might be a better match up feature-wise with the MX Sport (all three being waterproof to ten feet) but the AT Gold comes with a much smaller coil geared for nugget detecting. The coil on the AT Pro and MX Sport are roughly comparable. This is how I test detectors myself though on way more targets. At Pro 15 kHz 8.5" x 11" DD 3.03 lbs $595 AT Gold 18 khz 5" x 8" DD 3.0 lbs $680 MX Sport 13.9 khz 10" round DD 4.2 lbs $749
  12. I saw this advertised. Thought it would be a great tool for those individuals who make their own videos. https://shop.soloshot.com
  13. Here's a video I just found for those thinking of using the MX-Sport at the beach john Also checkout this Silver Haul
  14. We have a meet every year with approximately 25 prospectors from all over Australia.
  15. I have been lucky enough to tour the White's Electronics facilities myself. Now you can also from the comfort of home! The gentleman conducting the tour is Steve Howard, Marketing Director for White's. Except for the electronic components and some minor parts White's detector are 100% built in the Sweet Home facility. Very impressive when you watch the video from beginning to end. Note to White's - this kind of video and the instructional videos get my attention and possible business (made in USA) far more than banana videos.
  16. Hey folks, I just watched this Video and it has to be one of the best on Gold Mining I have seen, it is very factual and funny at time and they have some great Gold too, and there is a Q&A session at the end of it, The Info they share is first class and easy to understand, Enjoy,,, John
  17. Hey guys! Just got my hands on the new Pro-Gold kit from Minelab. It's my first product review video, so be gentle on me ;) Anyway, hope you enjoy it. I know I did!
  18. Hello, I received the new gold racer 7.5 x 4" elliptical waterproof DD coil this evening for testing. I wont have a chance to get out on some gold with it till this weekend, but I made a little demonstration video at home. looks like it is going to be a real winner for tiny gold and for hard to reach places that other coils cant reach. Good luck
  19. Here's a video I made showing my 4" manual gold pump filling a classifier in 60 seconds with just 4 draws on the pump. The video also shows underwater shots of the pump in action so you can see the draw it has, these pumps are great for use in places where mechanical pumps are not allowed (like the UK and some US states etc), I hope you like it.
  20. Friend e mailed me this the other day. looks to be very well done. Nice work Ron. http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/on-the-hunt-with-high-tech-treasure-hunters/ strick
  21. Here's the video I made on the last day of my gold prospecting trip from last month, including some pickers and photo's of the final clean up
