Todays The Day! Well Not Really, Just A Fugazi....

Recommended Posts

After the 4th of July and all of the festivities I was in my hometown and stopped by the grammar school where I attended the 3rd 4th and 5th grades.I pounded this site to death starting back in the early seventies thru the early 1980's and found a whole lot of good stuff. Heck I probably even found silver coins that I lost? During those years the school was surrounded by WW2 era subdivisions on the north the west and east sides but the south side was still old vine grapes and plumb orchards that stretched for about a mile. That area has all since been replaced with 100's Of modern houses.Due to the fact that there is no security lighting on the old play area/football and soccer field it has become a major after dark play and party spot for the young folks and miscreants.Another plus is that they do not cut the grass very often so things build up and disappear rather quickly. Here is what i found minus the clad and all of the trash.

Interesting finds.   It's also interesting how familiar places have changed over our lifetimes. I'm 61. Can you imagine what folks from 150 or more years ago would notice?   Much would be unrecognizable to them in my locale.

It's the same thing out here JCR and some places including the schoolyard have become almost unrecognizable in my lifetime. The old-time local Pomo and Yuki Indians as well as the Italian Irish German and other immigrants of a 150 years ago would hightail it for the foothills and mountains. But even they have changed.

Pretty cool finds! Yep that Spanish coin replica would’ve got my heart thumping! Here’s my 1715 Fleet 1/2 Reale I found in FL Dec’19. After pounding the sand for 3 seasons in storms etc, I’m proudly wearing in 2nd pic 😄C596C2F2-F54C-4485-A80B-E36231F94A7E.thumb.jpeg.8063f73cd6c284c8859c17c85930bd89.jpegDC8F0748-70AD-4CC2-8CB4-80CE994FF01F.thumb.jpeg.947efefabbaba270ecabda757ba73181.jpeg

The coin looks authentic to me. Replications are supposed to be marked "copy".

Hi Badger.I cannot say that you are wrong about that but from the little bit of searching that I did it appears that the very pricey genuine articles have gold settings.
