This article is good explaining a few things about lithium's including why storage at full capacity is bad, it basically shortens the life of the battery gradually holding less and less of a charge.

Must be the same for electric vehicles too as they say the slow home charger is better for the battery life than the fast public charging stations. Also I read that only charging to 80% is also better for the battery.
