Mark Gillespie
Actually thinking about getting one and hitting some of the mountain streams here in southwestern Virginia. Wonder how it would do for ring hunting?

Except the gm 1000 is not unique. White's GMT operates at 48kHz so it is in the same range.
Ridge Runner
Over on Rob's forum Rob himself is saying he has a large shipment has come in but until he can pick it up who knows. He thinks it may be the GM 1000 but won't know till Monday. Like Minelab said come Monday the GM 1000 would be out. I'd call this a positive note. mn90403
If I have a 7000 and 2300 and a Gold Bug Pro ... which one will take a seat if I get a 1000? The GB Pro sits most of the time already.
Steve Herschbach
The GM1000 comes nowhere near replacing a GPZ 7000 or SDC 2300.
mn90403
Well ... let me think about it this way ... what prospecting type of area would the 1000 be better at than the 7000 or 2300?
Steve Herschbach
Cleaning up the tiniest crumbs the GPZ or SDC cannot detect, or the Gold Bug Pro for that matter.
Shasta gold hunter
I will use it over my gbpro and gp3000 for crumbs but I am also looking forward to being able to use it in light rain or when rain is possible. Never liked trying to bag my detectors, but have often wanted to go out when it wasn't quite dry or wasn't likely to stay that way!
Shasta gold hunter
I also will be appreciating a volume control for the built in speaker. That is something I miss on the gbpro.
