That would narrow it down to just a few things. 5/8" x 5/8" x 1/4"

WTG Compass !👍 The whatsit with solder spot could be electronics related but I'm thinking possibly more likely decorative . Or the space thing 🤩 So ,,,It's 2 grams of 14k . I also believe that the whatsit is electronics related but expect it to be gold plated to make it a corrosion resistant type of contact or conductor.

I doubt that it is for some electronic equipment as it is of such a design that it would serve no purpose that I can see since it was soldered in place. The soldering is a tell tale sign of something much larger, and it being gold means that it would be more expensive.

There are no markings on it so I suspect that it had an industrial or decorative use. At the open end there appears to be solder marks where it was attached to something else. Any help in identifying it would be much appreciated! Reminds me of an X... (Don't know the name.) Think of a leather/vinyl watchband. There is a buckle but also a small band to constrain the excess strap. (It's usally made of the same material as the band, though -- leather/vinyl....) That small constraint band is what this reminds me of. 1
