  1. Hey Guys, Thanks for the update. I can insure you all there is no virus or harm on our forums. We went through this a few years ago when another customer stated it had a virus and I contacted the Host, Invision Boards and they did all the checks and everything and said it's fine. The Boards are hosted from Invision, it's on their server and I actually pay monthly for my server to be hosted, unlike a lot of the free ones that are loaded with ads and pop ups. Hope this helps a bit. I'm always updating my forum with all the new updates, so if someone is not ok with viewing, I completely understand. As much as our forums are slow, I still personally maintain and keep them updated and remove all the unwanted spam visitors. Rob
  2. Hey Guys/Gals, That is correct, American Detector Distributor has confirmed our shipment and should arrive soon. We will have both Garrett Axiom Metal Detector Packages available. We will make sure to get all our pre-orders that are pre-paid first out, then pre-orders list next. We should have enough to supply our current orders and anyone else interested in the purchase. Going to be exciting times now that Garrett has an amazing Pulse Induction detector. God Bless, Rob
  3. Hey Guys, Like Gerry mentioned, we both have been dealers for a long time and this is the first time I have seen a nearly $1000 detector included in a promo. You normally see like a free coil, battery, pinpointer or such, but value wise this is the biggest giveaway I have ever seen. It's limited time, up to Dec 31st of 2022, so anyone interested should contact their local or favorite Minelab dealer for sure. There are a few other promo's I added to the Classified section, so you can see those also, the SDC 2300 with a free battery and the Equinox 800 metal detector with a free 6" coil. We also have a batch of the Artesian GPX 6000's, which have the 11" Mono and 17" Mono, rather than the 14" DD. However, there could be a option to have all three coils! 🙂 There is a lot of speculation about why Minelab is doing this, such as slow sales with this economy, worried about the Garrett Axiom sales and such. Maybe Minelab's thought process is the Axiom at $4000, GPX 6000 at $6000, if they include a free $949 detector this makes the end user think more. For another $1000 you essentially you get a FREE detector, so you and a partner can hunt together. No clue ..... We have all the packages available and they will make great Holiday gifts. Contact your nearest Minelab dealer to lock in as the supplies will be limited and demand probably high. God Bless, Rob
  4. Hey Reese, Great channel, always fun to see others finding gold in different areas. I probably have about 10 channels I subscribe to so I can see all the new videos when they post them. I have my channel still, but I haven't posted any new videos in months. I probably have 20 hours of footage that has not been posted yet. I believe I have 106 videos loaded on my page. https://www.youtube.com/user/Nuggethunting/videos Hope to see some more of yours very soon. Wishing you many more GPX 6000 nuggets! P.S. If anyone don't have Reese's new book, I highly recommend it. Great read, awesome pictures also. Rob
  5. Hey Bill, You could always give them a call and find out. Right now, I'm sure they are plagued with GPX 6000 repairs along with all the other stuff during the now busy prospecting season here in the US. Many customer send in their detectors to get checked out prior to the season, so they could be loaded down. That being said, they are normally pretty quick on getting repairs finished and shipped back to the customer. Rob
  6. Hey Guys, I have had a handful of inquiry's as a Minelab dealer for over 20 years, I have yet to know what the "Minelab Tool Kit" is? I have sent a few emails to find out ....
  7. Hey Guys, Just a FYI for you. Keith at Detector Center called and official said they are doing the "speaker mod." You will need to contact Detector Center and have a ticket created so they know it's coming to them. Give them a call, let them know and then ship it to them. Hope this helps, Rob
  8. Hey Jason, I'm sure your used GPX 6000 will sell. I'm still selling new ones, but it has slowed down a bit due to many waiting to see what the Axiom does. You might have taken my comment out of content when I said the GPX 6000 Coiltek coils are selling very well and you might of thought I was referring to GPX 6000 metal detectors. The Coiltek coils, mostly the small 10x5 and 14x9 are selling very well, but detectors have slowed down a bit. I have a large pre-order list for the Garrett Axiom, Nugget Finder GPX 6000 coils and Nugget Finder GPZ 17x13 coil. I don't like to take any funds in advance, I just add you to a list, first ones on the list will have first shot of what inventory I have on hand when they arrive. Some customers insist they must pay ahead to be guaranteed a item, but it's not required from us. It's going to be an interesting Winter season with new detectors and coils. I'm hoping that only means more gold for the end user. Good luck, Rob
  9. Hey GotAU, I agree, a lot of archived info on the forums. I still remember the first online forum ran by Ron Long (Uncle Ron) which was hosted by Yahoo, called GoldStalkers Forum I believe. This would of been back in the late 90's or early 2000's. ROb
  10. Hey Guys, There is no question once Steve created the "Detector Prospectors" forum most fell to the way side, including my forums at - https://forums.robsdetectors.com/ I'm not super active on them, but my forums date back for ever a decade or longer and some good information for anyone that wants to search for a subject. It's still online, I just haven't kept it hot. I also have no ads, so I don't generate any revenue from my forums, as the free forums that have all the ads do generate revenue (based on clicks). Personally, it's easier for everyone to visit one forum for the most part. I remember when here in the US, most dealers had a forum and you would see the same posts on 5-6 different forums. I believe Bill Southern still has a forum, but also noticed a huge decrease in post in the last 6-12 months. I think majority of the "buzz" is here, so keep it running! Rob
  11. Hey Guys, I think this will be a great coil for the GPZ 7000. It's been a long wait for one, but I'm excited to re-visit a few old patches with this new coil once it arrives here in the US. I have kicked butt with the stock 14x13", but the last 2 years I have been using the 12" Nugget Finder round Z Search and love it. Hard to part with the GPZ, but every year I'm getting older .... Rob
  12. Hey Guys, Talked with Max (Minelab Americas Rep) today about this issue and asked what is the process here in the US. He is going to check and see, but I'm sure everything will have to go through Detector Center in PA, USA as they are the repair/warranty center for Minelab Americas. I have tried to contact Detector Center direct about it, but I'm sure they are getting calls so I haven't heard anything back from them. Hope this helps a bit, Rob
  13. Hey Guys, I can tell you from a Dealers standpoint, I sell both Coiltek and Nugget Finder and have for decades. That being said, there is a huge demand for the Nugget Finder GPZ coil and the GPX 6000, but customer are starting to loose interests in waiting and taking the plunge on the Coiltek version for now. I'm struggling to keep the Coiltek ones in stock, even for the Equinox series, which I guess is a great problem. Every time I ask the US Distributor about when they are coming, it's another 2-3 weeks. Trust me, he's super frustrated also, it's money being lost for Nugget Finder, the Distributor and all dealers. I'm hoping we see at least a small batch before Christmas here in the US. We have a pre-order list on the GPZ and GPX 6000 NF coils if anyone is still wanting to get one. Rob
  14. Hey Steve and Gerry, Great information as always. I think the Garrett will be a huge hit in the US. I'm excited for a USA made unit to be honest. I have supported Minelab since the early 90's, still do 100%, but I'm super excited Garrett got this one right. I wasn't a huge fan of the Infinium or ATX (due to the weight), but the Axiom looks and sounds like a real winner. I think Minelab recently countered with the "GPX 6000 Artisanal" which I do have a few left. It's the GPX 6000 International package, which comes with the 11" Round Mono & 17 inch Elliptical Mono and then are tossing in the 14" DD & extra Li-ion Battery for FREE. You are getting all three coils in this package plus extra battery. It's the same price, $6000. Good to see some good competition between manufactures, it only will benefit the end user for potentially better products and maybe better prices. Wishing you all a poke full of gold. Rob
  15. Hey Reg, Wow, what an impressive nugget. Just make you think of all the big gold nuggets during the early gold rushes that were melted down. Here in California, the Motherlode State, reports of nuggets well over a thousand ounces were found during the early gold rush days. I'm sure all of these huge gold nuggets were just melted back then, no real collector value to them. Just makes you think if someone got lucky to unearth one of those bad boys today that just hiding under a few inches of dirt, what kind of collector value it would bring? Great nuggets guys. Rob
  16. Thanks for all the comments. This year just seemed different, hot and super humid at the same time, normally it's either really dry heat and up to like 118 degrees during the peak of Summer or super humid during the Monsoons. We seemed to get a combo of both this year, maybe it's just age .... Haha I think back when I first started, early 90's and we would hunt year around with no problem. I remember days during the Summer coming back to fill the hydration pack several times and then back into the field. We are just a few short months from prime time Southwestern US weather. Until then, wishing everyone health and wellness to give the goldfields hell one more year! Rob
  17. Hey Guys, Well I'm not sure if it's just un-motivation, heat, humidity or what, but it's been a slow summer prospecting for me to say the least. Prior to the summer, up to about May-June a partner and myself were still out hitting the goldfields religiously. I put down the GPZ 7000 for a bit and wanted to give the Minelab GPX 6000 some time, so that is just want I did prior to Summer rolling in. In just a month or so on the weekends I rounded up a nice little batch of nuggets, roughly 1.66 ounces, mostly smaller gold. I was getting really adjusted to the lightweight unit and its ability to find small gold really well. Well, now its summer, heat up to 110-115 plus high humidity, my interested drastically dropped. I have been out a few early mornings before the Sun popped up hitting some new spots in hots for a new location or patch. I found 3 lonely nuggets in 3 new locations, really thought one of them would pan out into a good spot. I couldn't tell you how many lonely nuggets I have found over the years in new washes, benches or hillsides where I spent the rest of the day thinking I was onto something. Many of the spots over the years I have returned thinking I must have missed something or just overlooked the obvious ... NOPE just not there (or within detector capability to find). I'm excited for the cool weather to roll upon us soon. There's a lot of new stuff to play with, including the new Garrett Axiom metal detector, Coiltek GoldHawk coils for the GPX 6000, Nugget Finder coils for GPX 6000 (coming soon), along with the Nugget Finder 17" Elliptical for the GPZ 7000. We carry all of these items for anyone that might be looking at some point, look us up if you don't have a source already. Here are a few pictures of some of the gold I rounded up, nothing to write home about, but it still gets the "Gold Bug" biting. P.S. I remember an old prospecting buddy, now passed once saying "Every Summer as you get older gets worse!" I think I'm starting to understand more as I get older, the Summer seem longer and hotter, maybe it's just comes with age .... Keep the coils swinging, Rob Rob's Detector Sales
  18. This is a fact. I had a customer years ago call me and said the coil I sold him was junk, the ear broke off and it was cheaply made. We went back in forth for days about this, finally I told the guy to bring it back so I could see it. He said, "Look at that gap, that is why it broke, I had to tighten it down." I happen to noticed he didn't have the teardrop washers on the shaft attached, and he didn't realize that and tightened it down super tight, breaking the ear. Just make sure you don't loose your shaft washers, this customer apologized and said they must have fell off and he didn't even realize it when he changed to the new coil It happens, Rob
  19. Hey Jasong, I think you purchased it from us. Ya, Doc and I had a long discussion via email about this very subject. I sell a bunch of both of them, but if someone is concerned, then probably should purchase the original Minelab version. I have used both over the years, never seen a huge difference on the ground I hunt, but I'm sure it could play an important role in properly ground balancing the GPZ on much more mineralized ground (high iron/feromag minerals). ** Something Important to Customers - The ferrite rings are super fragile, many have just tossed them down on the ground and shattered them. It's best if you place them gently on the ground, "don't toss" them or there is a high change of it breaking into pieces. Some have covered them in various material to protect them, even electrical tape. Rob
  20. Hey Art, Here are my thoughts, at least here in Arizona. When the Minelab GPZ 7000 originally came out, with the first firmware update, there was no Ferrite ring included with the detector, nor was it available. It wasn't until a year or so later, the Ferrite ring was included in the detector and the firmware was updated (new purchases or available to download). For 2 years solid, I found some of my best gold with the GPZ 7000 and never used a Ferrite ring. I would just do the normal balance in the "Auto" mode and start hunting. I actually found in my opinion some of my smallest gold and largest with the original firmware and felt later one after the additional firmware updates I was finding smaller and not as deep. This might just by in my mind, but I remember finding smaller gold with the stock 14x13 back then. I have used the Ferrite ring over the years and do carry one with me for the most part, but haven't really seen a huge difference using it vs. not using it. Now when it comes to Ferrite rings, they say the color ID's the Ferrite ring. However, some have claimed Doc's don't do the same as the Minelab one and I haven't found any truth to this. I have even brought this to Doc's attention years ago, but I still have customers that claim the Minelab one works better than any aftermarket one. Just some thoughts on this. Rob
  21. Hey Steve, I agree, Coiltek knocked it out of the park with this coil and their very robust design. I also have to say Minelab hit a "Home Run" with the Minelab Equinox Series, 600 and 800 metal detectors. Looking forward to future reports from you on this new NOX coil. I haven't been able to use mine much due to time restraints, but they are selling like hotcakes! I just got another very large batch of them in, but they are moving quickly. I have them listed on Ebay and my online store if anyone don't have a lead on them already - https://www.robsdetectors.com/?s=Coiltek+Nox&post_type=product The new Coiltek GoldHawk coils are here, been working on pre-orders the last couple of days. We also have all of those coils available, but everything is moving quickly. I just got word NF coils have been delayed a bit longer here in the US, so I'm guess some of those customers might pull the trigger on the new Coiltek's. Keep the coils swinging, Rob
  22. Hey Guys, Here is my Nuggethunting Channel, not much drama, just raw footage of digging nuggets, what I like to do. I don't need to put on an act, act fake, nor trying to get millions of views or make money. That being said, it was more to help others, but there is always a million critics out there. https://www.youtube.com/user/Nuggethunting/videos As several mentioned, it just draws attention to where you are. There are many just looking to follow others, it's human nature, but part of the gold business. You will find some work hard for their gold, while others try to find any easy way to find gold off of someone's else's hard work. This could be in videos, landscape pictures, following others, GPS locators, GPS from pictures and on and on .... I guess realistically we have done the same, most of all of us, we have chased where the old-timers already done the work, so in a sense maybe in all fairness we have all done it to some degree. Like my old friend & mentor, Jim Straight once said, "Silence is Golden!" Rob
  23. Hey Reese, Sounds like you are doing well, great to hear. Curious, where you are digging by hand, are you finding anything digging down through the layers or is most of the nuggets on bedrock or near bedrock? Looks like you have hundreds of pieces from the area. Rob
  24. Hey OneGuy, Why did you part with the GPX 6000? Is the SDC 2300 with the small Coiltek coil working the best there? I know the SDC 2300 is super sensitive even with the stock 8" round, but with the Coiltek 10x5 it's better on small gold and bedrock hunting in my opinion. Congrats on the nice haul of gold nuggets! Wishing you much more success. Rob
  25. Hey Deathray, Yes, I was on vacation for about 4 days, but back at the "Salt Mine" now. Give me a call when you get a chance and we can talk more. I have boxes of Coiltek GPX 6000 coils to now ship out. Rob
