Tekkna For The Deus 2, First Impression (updated 3)
broadfield replied to F350Platinum's topic in XP Deus II Forum
Have you actually tried it? Whilst targets in a normal disc program may get dragged down Into the 30’s or 40’s, Tekknna is not using disc, this setting in full tones is more of a threshold for the offset. I think it actually separates better because the target ID’s are being pushed into their respective tone bins rather than being averaged by disc. -
Could they possibly be re-launching the V3i with updated software. That machine had a lot of potential but was never quite finished, the display was way ahead of its time. Failing that a multifrequency MXT re-launch, now that would be a seriously good detector.

It says in the manual that there is program specific signal processing. Also from v1.1 Sens FT uses a different silencer.

What Version Do You Like .71, 1.0 Or 1.1 And Why??
broadfield replied to bigtim1973's topic in XP Deus II Forum
V1.1 Frequency Max & Square Hi Tones are game changers, couple this with the bug fixes and performance enhancements and revised silencer, you have a serious bit of kit. -
Fire the machine up in General program and start using, then press bottom left audio shortcut button and select equilizer, make a small change then use back keys to go back to detect screen, profile is now the horseshoe and not big numbers. This was in v1.0, haven’t tried it in v1.1 yet.

Yes I see what you mean, I just replicated it.

Fast and sensitive are the same FMF platform/frequency bands, the only difference is fast uses a less filtered audio.

Are The Minelab Manticore Users Just Beta Testers?
broadfield replied to George Kinsey's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
If we all did that then there would never be any feedback or updates to machines, I would rather be on the journey early enjoying a new machine and proving feedback to the manufacturer if I thought it would improve performance. Its no different for nearly all new tech, the latest iPhone will have updates within weeks of its release. In this hi-tech software driven world nothing is ever truly finished. -
Full Tones - Discrimination - Iron Tone Question
broadfield replied to CPT_GhostLight's topic in XP Deus II Forum
I thought 0.71 added iron volume to full tones? -

WSA Wireless headphones, same as used on the ORX.

The D1 can be a very deep machine, just need to understand it

Addition & Subtraction
broadfield replied to broadfield's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Unless I am missing something that does not discuss subtraction or addition? -
Depending on what program you select on the Deus II it processes using one of the above methods, curious to know what other MF detectors may be using like the Legend or NOX. As far as I know you don’t get a choice with those. What do they actually do? I am assuming subtraction will not include ground responses from iron and salt based minerals so will be quieter but less deep on fringe targets whereas addition will add in the ground responses but may be noisier but deeper on fringe targets that start taking on the ground. Am I on the right lines? Thanks.

You have to get used to it but full tones in pwm gives you a wealth of info.
-
In my opinion nothing, in fact the the audio language compared to the D1 in full tones is vastly improved and gives a lot more info.
-
General uses the widest span of frequencies out of all the programs, I use it on new sites to get a feel. Then swap to sensitive if it need the weighting at higher frequencies or park / deep hc if I need a lower frequency weighting.

Why Aren't More Analog Detectors Made?
broadfield replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
C-Scope here in the UK still make Analogue machines -
Conductive Soil Subtraction And Addition...what Is It?
broadfield replied to Jeff McClendon's topic in XP Deus II Forum
That makes sense thanks. so for the addition it’s opposite, in that you add a frequency like 40khz to make the signal more sensitive to a desired target? -
Conductive Soil Subtraction And Addition...what Is It?
broadfield replied to Jeff McClendon's topic in XP Deus II Forum
So with subtraction the higher frequency will be less sensitive to low conductive targets like small gold?
