https://joanallen.co.uk/coils.html Looks like they have 10x5 and 14x9 right now. The 15 says out of stock in red. But they are in the UK.

HAHA I know how you feel. I have to remember I got along without it to this point.

If If they did lighten it I would buy one. -
TexasMike, I have the same questions here in Florida. I read where one US dealer only received two coils. According to coiltek, we only have two dealerships, neither one has no idea when they will get them and one does not preorder. I also saw a message from joanallen metal detectors in UK saying they have shipped all their pre-orders of the new coiltek coils. HH

Great report! Thank you. Glad you are specific on your settings as it helps. Looking fwd to thew next report. Regards -
Good discussion but dang I wish the dealers had coiltek NOX product to ship and real reviews from us ‘end users’. Thanks all.
-
Very speculative. But for me the 10x5 is just what I need at my overgrown jungle sites. 🙂
-
No offense but today I paid attention to that and found every time I suddenly lift the coil I hear that. Have you tried that without a target to rule out?
-
Dang, you must be the first in the US to confirm one is heading to your doorstep. Congrats, have not heard from my dealer yet. Give us some feedback when you get out with it. HH

Al contact SteveG his balance system works and makes it easier to swing.
-
Chase, Steve and Basstrackerman are on the good ideas. I have Steves system and it definitely works. Customizable to what you need. Also see if you can shorten the lower shaft a little.
-
Al F, any feedback on how your new large coil works and where? Thx

Good timing, I am re-reading his book for about the fourth time over almost 3 years. And got to the bottom of page 48 where he says the same thing as Colonel Dan.

Yes, I turn down both RS 4-5 and IB 4-5. We have both iron and alum trash and one beach mineralized with black sand. I also am trying descrim from -9 to 2 to quiet the EQ down. Then if I hear a flat sounding high or low tone and dig, it is trash. A coin size piece of alum really throws a good tone as do ring tabs. Once I get a good sounding target I check it with all metal to see if an iron sound is included. Too low RS and the tone lags the target location and makes pinpointing difficult. Pinpointing can show me the size of the target and lifting coil helps determine size depth too. Biggest problem is lack of targets, we have an unusually high number of snow birds this season. Also no high surf or days of north winds since Dec. My beaches run NW to SE. But in my test garden on silver, these settings work well. So this is a work in progress. I use the 11” coil and think the key to the EQ is coil and stability. HH

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. I emailed Coiltek about the weight and this was the courteous response: (of course if enough of us ask, who knows?) -
Beginner New Ml600 Detector, Second Dig, 2 Days Ago
FloridaSon replied to Keith's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
The flashlight trick above often works and sometimes slightly dampen the surface. Change the angle of the coin. Magnify. Finally, try looking at it upside down. I know, but it has helped once in a while. HH -
I had the same thought after sending my coil in for replacement. Maybe it’s the hand wound coils too? My new coil and same 800 seems more stable and sensitive. Also just read warranty and MInelab may use ‘refurbished’ parts to replace and warranty claims.

I was just fighting with the same connector last night. After hours of searching, I ordered a different cable but don’t need it waterproofed. I would suggest you search in all the detecting forums for a member that builds headphones and contact them. I read of a couple years last year but don’t remember who or where. Good luck.

New Equinox Coils From Coiltek
FloridaSon replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
I agree Rick. For what it is worth, I ballparked the weight difference over the stock 11 inch coil of the 14x9 to be close to a full 12oz. can of soda. So guess I will velcro a can to the shaft with my 11in coil to get a rough idea of how it swings. I think coiltek is missing market share on non water hunters that will not buy a heavier coil. Just my 2 cents. Sent coiltek this question, but those of you who are testers will carry more influence. -
