  1. Ditto that! 10x5... 9.5x5... 9x5... any of those will do! 😏
  2. As far as relic hunting goes, sometimes relics are made of iron and also non-ferrous relics can have iron rusted onto them if they've been in the ground together for a long time, so notching out iron will lose some good targets and not all targets will unmask.
  3. Wow, that's quite a bit of iron. You might try bumping up the F2 to see if that knocks some out. If that doesn't work you might want to drag a huge magnet through a spot before detecting to see what kind of iron it is.
  4. Yes!!!! I think a lot of us are wanting a coil like the original Deus 9.5x5" coil even if it's just for land use. I don't think many water hunters would need a small elliptical coil, but I could be wrong. The extra coverage of the 11x13" would be great for fields and beaches though.
  5. Well people have been complaining about the clear and super long antenna wire that has to be wrapped aound the outside of the shaft, so XP is making a black antenna wire that is much shorter and presumedly can be run inside the shaft. My take away is that they are listening and trying to to respond customers requests, and that's a good sign. Not everybody wants the same things on their detectors and some have no problems with stock detectors, but if XP is going to be responsive to customers needs and wants, then that's a win. I'll take it, thanks XP! It makes me wonder what else they may be working on. 😏
  6. Dang, that's a beauty, Steelheader, well done!
  7. Well, who said XP doesn't listen to us... They're putting out a new antenna! Skip to the 10 minute mark to see this.
  8. That's excellent, you definitely went the extra mile! That should be the stock setup from XP! 😎
  9. I hope it's not from this seller because even though it says not 3D printed, they are 3D prints that have been sanded and spray painted. You can still see clear layer lines inside the holes and on the arcs that were not sanded well. https://www.ebay.com/itm/275403339431?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=5z_ZEJXAQ8-&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=C9pH38O6TWK&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  10. I couldn't help noticing you don't have you coil balancer on the 13" coil. Did you decide you don't need it?
  11. I'm outa likes, but I think you are correct, NCt. The debate is raging about Notch vs Disc and it just gets more confusing as everyone has a different opinion. For me the audio is the key, so I keep Disc as low as possible to try and not send good targets into the iron sound zone. But when I started using some notch, that's when targets I never noticed before started coming through. For some hunting, I know it's better to run wide open and allow as many sounds through as possible, but at some point it all just blends together making it harder to pick out the good targets. I also know if you Notch, you will miss anything in the Notched zone, but for some types of hunting it is very useful to suppress certain sounds to allow more desired sounds to pop through the noise. I wish I knew the answer to the secret sauce of Disc and Notch, but as it varies so much for each soil type and hunting type and target type, we may never know for sure. I think it will boil down to the best blends of Disc and Notch (or no Notch) for your own area and targets sought, which will only be discovered after a lot of hunting over time.
  12. I'm all outa likes again, so I'll have to come back later and punch them in. I was going to suggest the "Carolina Coil" up the entire shaft and I completely forgot the upper was aluminum. I'm glad to see your mod also works with the WS6 module. So can you use it with the full size remote without the clip too if you're not diving with it or does it have to be clipped on?
  13. Nice finds again, Erik! I wouldn't think the jeweler would be interested in the carbide ring, but hey a ring is a ring and still fun to find. It might be worth getting the stones checked on that silver looking ring, I could be wrong but it doesn't look like a junker to me. BTW, you'd never catch me beyond the shark nets, that's a big nope! 🦈
  14. Wow, well done again! The notched Fast program does have something special going on for sure.
  15. Man, SOHN, it looks like the M-Core is doing a good job for you! Great finds and I don't think I've ever seen so little trash in your photos, well done!
  16. All great ideas! I'm thinking of using Greg's idea of running the wire up the lower shaft for a semi-permanent installation and Jed's idea of using the velcro wire ties on the coil to be able to clean the coil cover and to switch coils when I get the new 9.5"x5" coil. 😎
  17. Hey, matt, your timing is good. That's covered in this recent thread:
  18. Nice finds, Luis, it looks like you got some silver too, well done! The gold will show up when it's time. Beautiful looking beach and it looks like it's a popular place to detect.
  19. More cool finds, F350! In fact I would lump all those musket balls in with the good stuff as well! They're historical too whether they're military or not. Well done! I was wondering if the syringe might have been from a local veterinarian back in the day. From the looks of the break he might have been kicked by the horse he was trying to help. 😉 I would be interested to try your new relic type program in my mineralized ghost town sites to see how it peforms and report back, that is if we can get more than a 2 day break between snow falls around here. Where's that global warming when you need it? 😆
  20. Unfortunately, I can't ID it, but I found something very similar and would also like to know what it is.
  21. Wow, nice spike even without the head! Anything from the 1715 fleet is a wonderful piece of history, well done! And a rare artifact from the Spanish colonial rapper, Lil' Rapero, is a once in a lifetime find! 😉
  22. Wow, congrats on the gold ring, Erik, and the coins, earring, and medical tag. Your early morning sandpipering is paying off well! 😎
