  1. I don't have one, but on page 6 of the user manual it recommends Aptx-LL headphones of any kind. Aptx lists the 6000 as having the capability. Been reading this thread and have been confused about that myself. Don't use standard Bluetooth headphones without an Aptx-LL transmitter though. You have to get Aptx-LL headphones.
  2. Here it will be fun after the corn harvest, I'll probably be banging it into everything. 😀 Is that wheat stubble? Got some of that in my future too. ðŸĪŠ
  3. Depth doesn't seem to be a problem for me, but maybe I'm hunting where there aren't many deep targets. On the beach a couple of weeks ago it was nailing everything up to and over a foot deep. Could be because sand. 😀 I'll take the 11" stock coil to the farmhouse and see if I find anything deeper, last two times I hunted there even after a 2 inch soaker rain, I found next to nothing. It would be great to get more! Now ya got me wishing I had two Equinoxes. ðŸĪŽ BTW I'm running my 600 in Park 1, all metal, 10kHz because of EMI. Sensitivity 23-24. Tons of EMI there, I could use my Garrett Ace 400. 😀
  4. Great video! I have noticed these issues too, but I don't find them too annoying. First of all I don't press my coil into ground stubble, and the few bump falses it makes are my fault. The 11" coil has these issues too as you showed. I did notice that when changing the coil angle on the 10x5 I get some noise, but again I don't do it enough to be upset with it. The Equinox is a "hot" machine, very sensitive. They might want to do something about the ears, thankfully I am using a carbon fiber shaft and it isn't too bad. 🙂 I just pray the ears don't break. 😀 I see no need for the 11" coil anymore!
  5. I agree, it would still keep the control head out of the mud and sand. ðŸĪ” It might also not interfere with swing. I can think of spots where the control head might pull it over tho. Good idea! 👍
  6. Great finds, sorry you had to change up your profile. Looks like the Deus is really working out for you! I'm trying to find out if there is a story behind Liberty being seated, then standing, and finally walking. ðŸĪ” 😀
  7. Great stuff Doggo! I would love to find one Barber, let alone a San Francisco. I do find lots of those organ reeds however. 😀 👍
  8. Thanks Monte. This family has been here since the late 1600s. One of the family, the person who gave me the permissions, is buying back/inheriting some of the land that has been sold/left over the centuries. I've found a lot of great stuff on his properties, and share what I find with him, although he told me to keep what I find. Not finding many silver coins has been somewhat frustrating, but when I do find them it's a joy. This whole area is known for its frugality. In one year I've only found 15 silver coins or parts thereof, from Spanish half Reales to a Trime. Only lately have I found newer silver coins in places I know have not ever been visited. These places are all within a mile of my house. At first I thought I might be doing something wrong, but have since learned that if it is there the Equinox will find it. The coins just aren't there, but learning to "read the land" helps a lot. The one that gets me is the British Penny, I can't come up with a reason they would lose a 1907 in the front yard, maybe it was a lucky coin in a pocket on a clothesline. I found the 1958 D there too, along with a buffalo nickel and some newer wheats. The Mercury dime was under bushes at the side of the house. With winter's defoliation this place will produce more finds.
  9. A lot of you are gonna get the Coiltek 10x5 coil, and some of you are going to be irritated like I am that the Equinox falls over when you set it down. Went on Amazon and found the cheapest/ lightest rifle bipod I could find: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M0A1RB5 It would be terrible for a rifle, but it's great for the Equinox. The legs fold out, and while they can get in the way when swinging the detector, I find I'm pretty comfortable using them open. It only weighs about 8 ounces. The best part of it is the clamp, it can be used universally, even on my new carbon fiber shaft. The legs are removable from the clamp block via a thumbscrew. Another benefit it seems to provide is enough counterweight to relive trigger finger, I've been having a lot of problems with my right ring finger locking up at night. It's a lot better now. The clamp is probably steel, so don't tighten it too much and hit it with WD-40 now and again to keep it from rusting.
  10. I'm not sure whether to be intrigued or laugh at this. On one hand it makes me think of this: 6 antennas! And on the other I find myself wanting to put a voodoo talisman in the handle. ðŸĪ”
  11. I'm pretty sure Steve left the forum on auto update and the software company that wrote the forum program released updates that mangled it. I don't think Chase was left with authority to fix. 🙂
  12. I'm thinking the plate might be a latch plate of some kind, looks like something attached through the square hole. It has two screw holes, so the square hole serves some other purpose. Awesome stuff. 👍The Apex seems to be a great machine. I'm wishing it was available when I bought the Ace 400, but it came out a while later after it had been announced.
  13. This post can cover a couple of subforums, but I think it's ok here. All of the jewelry items I've found here are relics. 😀 Took the person who gave me permission to detect on his land "carte blanche" a small display box with stuff I found on his parents' long gone home place, and he was thrilled. Gave him the civil war relics I dug there, a spoon handle and some IHP and wheat cents, along with some buttons. He was so happy he let me hunt his grandparents' home place, it's still there but overgrown and falling to ruin. The front yard is very small and dominated by English and poison ivy. Only about 1 10th of an acre is open for detecting, I'll have to wait for late winter or spring to cover the rest. There is also a field to the left that hasn't been cleared, I'll have to wait for that too. There is a hunt club house and a cornfield to the right with a small open field in between. The first day in the front yard was a blast. This place has never been hunted! Of note is the 1958 D quarter in excellent shape, a silver bracelet in Tiffany style, a 1920-40s "Fede Gimmel" silver ring, and a 1907 British penny. The other pennies are a mix of wheats and memorials. I also dug a buffalo nickel and a 1944 nickel. The next time I went was only for a couple hours, I got some clad and a 1942 Mercury dime. I did dig a colonial button next to the cornfield, so I can't wait for harvest. 😀 I ran into the property owner again and he asked me to look for a silver ring his daughter's friend lost in the hunt club field a couple years ago, so I've been going there grid searching. Today was a bonanza! I added to my 1942 collection, I'm pretty sure I have a nickel somewhere. 1942 quarter, 1934 quarter, and 1942 walking liberty half dollar, all in the same spot. I moved 3 feet to the northeast and dug about half the clad. The coins just kept coming. The half dollar gave the loudest 34 tone, I knew what I had and almost had to change my pants. I've never found a silver coin that big! It's in great shape. BTW I've been detecting just over a year now. 26 December will be a year on the Equinox, but I probably have more "trigger time" than most because I go out so much. Sorry for the long post but it's been a heckuva couple weeks. ðŸ˜ģ May do a camping trip post, got 110 coins, but all modern. Haven't found the ring yet, but got a better idea of where it might be today.
  14. I was about to check myself into rehab. ðŸĪŠ So glad I didn't have to. Welcome back y'all!
  15. Back home from the beach. Got a beautiful day today, low 80s, North wind. Went to the hill over the river, I mowed it a bit more yesterday, so I wanted to see if the Coiltek 10x5 could pull some more from a place I have searched pretty heavily with the standard coil. I wasn't disappointed. Not much, but old coins and jewelry are always welcome. Copper scale that indicates from 0 to 25 something, Gold plated stamped pin with a purple stone, may be amethyst but possibly purple dyed paste. I'm glad the stone is still there, barely held in by the pins. 1941 wheat I think, and an old stamped button from Boston. This hill is infested with nails and large pieces of iron, but the 10x5 cuts the good stuff out like a knife. 😎
  16. Great stuff! 👍 What is the large coin in the bucket?
  17. last week I was at the beach, dug targets sometimes over 12" deep. I started to have some minor EMI issues when the people came with their cell phones. However, beach sand may be more "permeable" than farm dirt. There was some black sand there, and seaweed in spots that gave intermittent iron tones, but quick ground balance fixed that, the 10x5 ground balances much easier than the stock coil. I've used this coil in the woods, and it also performs well. For sure it can identify good targets that are partially masked by undesirable ones. It's hard to describe but you get a bunch of different signals all at once, that means you should dig. I've only had true EMI problems in one place I go, I'm going again next week. There I switched to 10kHz, the only single frequency that didn't make a lot of noise, and ended up finding every coin in the area I was searching. You're only losing one inch of sweep coverage, getting better "focus" on the target below the coil (less interference from multiple targets under a larger coil), and the ability to get into tighter spaces. Least of all it's lighter!
  18. Lucky you! That's great. Hopefully others in the EU will jump on that. They are US $39.99 with no discount. Guess the Euro and Dollar are about equal right now.
  19. A forum is very difficult to maintain, there are lots of plugins/subroutines that get updated and mess up the main system. The only fix would be time spent with the programmers/tech support. I would try clearing browser cache, that sort of thing. Thing is my cache is important to me. 😃 Thanks Chase, for what you are doing.
  20. So glad you like them! I'm always looking for deals and good Aptx-LL headphones. I hope you will post your thoughts. I had to turn them up a bit when close to the surf, but the point is I can. they were great, and I could talk to people without taking them off. What is the other model at a discount?
  21. I think you will like it. It's been working great for me. So good in fact that I may not use the stock coil any longer.
  22. I've logged out on one device, and can't get back in 😧
  23. When you look at anyone's profile do you get an error? I do. See above.
