  1. I just got this machine , and Love it , I take it out to look for gold rings in the park, I am amazed at how good it is , its very light weight, it has 3 search modes by using the toggle switch , the all metal in the middle, the all metal can find bread ties like a champ , It also has the disc mode like the compadre but starts out discing iron . I dont use it so much because if a light foil is disced out you will not hear a coin under the foil , or a ring , but its the tone mode that is the cats meow, in tone mode if you have a small foil on the surface or over a good target you will see thru that small foil and hit the target, Kinda like my 1600.00$ tarsacci, I think the 6.6khz is making it do this , but it makes smooth tones, the toggle is very smooth, and it ignors iron very well and small junk foils , and it pinpoints spot on , I feel like I am using a 1000.00 machine , I have to say I really like it .pictures are of my last hunt in a park , I was using tone mode and had the tone dial set just back from 9 oclock, so most things where high tones, the iron you see i dug in all metal , save the bottle cap ,
  2. This time i left the ORX behind, as i had hunted 6 times and found nothing with the ORX, so out came the Tarsacci, 6.5 KHZ black sand on , and salt balance on set at 43 and gain on 7 out of 10, i started going over the ground i covered with the ORX and started getting hits, up come the 1896 indian penny . the ORX is a nice machine but the Tarsacci has a great ability to find good targets in iron and mineralized ground , and its a very noticeable difference, and it came threw .the hole the penny came out of had three iron objects in it
  3. I watched a couple of nice relic hunt videos last evening on Larry Hogston"s channel. It did well on some deep bullets in some bad ground.
  4. I was contacted out of the blue recently by Dimitar Gargov, owner and designer for Tarsacci metal detectors. I gave him a call and we were like two kids talking metal detectors! He explained some ideas he has for the future and I decided it was past time to set up a forum for Tarsacci owners to discuss their detectors. The MDT 8000 is a very high performance detector designed first for saltwater use but people are trying it for other purposes to good result. The bottom line is I have always supported competition especially as regards new technology. My main bias is I tend to only feature detectors with U.S. dealers and service. Yup, I am U.S. centric - sue me! Tarsacci as a home brewed detector obviously meets that criteria. So here we go, a forum for Tarsacci and the MDT 8000 and whatever else Dimitar's brilliant mind brings us eventually. Yeah I am buttering him up because I think I have talked him into doing what he never does - appear on a forum to answer questions about his product. Don't expect to get deep proprietary info as it is.... well, it's proprietary! But I hope to see Dimitar here soon. I am sure you will give him all that friendly place to share information we are famous for. Thanks! Tarsacci MDT 8000 Data & Specifications Tarsacci MDT 8000 metal detector at the beach
  5. I am really starting to love this machine! In the soft sandy soil of Virginia today we hit a colonial field that I have been in with my deus, others were there with the minelabs and garrett’s. I was hearing the good tones in the iron and digging brass, 1700’s buttons and other colonial pieces! Last week this machine was doing well in the red dirt in Northern VA. Its a keeper!
  6. Sounds like me. My first hunt with it on ground I have covered several times, Dug a 1919 Wheat pin pointer deep. That was with the stock 950 coil in Relic mode. Very stable, very good VDI resolution. I like it. It's main use will be deep targets running the mix mode Relic & All Metal Prospect. I have a 13" Detech Ultimate coming for it. Got to see if the big coils on the Legend, Vista X, AT Max & Tarsacci missed anything.
  7. I just again sent the powers that be asking for a small coil for the Tarsacci and if anything new Tarsacci coming out in the near future. This will be my last time to email anyone asking about the Tarsacci. If bye some unknown powers that be I do get a reply back I’ll post it here. Chuck
  8. Dancer I’m glad to see you going well but on age I’m ahead by 8 years on you. When you get past a certain age it’s best to hunt with another so if one can’t get up the other is there to help him to. Thanks for posting. This Tarsacci part of this forum is just about dead in the water and if it continue at this pace it will go totally dead. Always the best to you Dance. Chuck
  9. What i have found out is the Tarsacci out performs my ORX in ground littered with trash, and in depth of detection, I buried a penny only 7 inches deep and the orx could not hit that penny ,du to small bits of iron and other metal in the ground , the Tarsacci pounded that penny, and i have done this test in two different spots, its noticeable very much so . and today i found a spoon at a solid 14 inches deep . but i would say my ORX is better at i,d, on iron and bottle caps also today i got a false on a 7" bread tie using the Tarsacci. but over all the TAR has power and you know it and it delivers
  10. We all know that if you put the Tarsacci down on the ground with the coil flat it’s not going to fall over. I don’t know if you notice when you do put it down right below the hand grip can hit the ground. We spend lots on our detectors and I like protecting my investment. I’ve made other stands for other detectors I have so why not my Tarsacci. The best material for them is 1/2” Hot Water PVC pipe. Here’s what you going to need. One PVC T 4-45 degree joints 3 -end caps About 6” of 1/2” PVC Just remember everything is 1/2” You will need cleaner and glue. I always use the clear glue. I didn’t want the stand too wide so I cut off about 3/16 off each side of the T and the same on two of the 45’s. I done this so to narrow the stand so not to hit you when swinging. I hope all the pictures will help if you wish to make one. The black paint is the type that will stick to any surface. Chuck
  11. Well my first hunt I stayed up on the dry. Terrible, recently replenished. Check trouble finding coil. Next day ,went to wet sand to breaking surf. My previous settings for mild soil wasn't working like I'm used to. Got things quieted down some but getting noise when slapped by waves. Made a few adjustments and that baby became quiet as can be. The only area that started producing was on the surf line. Now I'm finding deep quarter's, and nickels, dimes. Strangely the pennies wernt much deep and seemed to be recent drops. So, production started picking up and today a two Silver Ring day. Pictured are the settings that I found to be the best for now. Second picture today's finds. The deepest targets started by the faintest of tone (signal) even this deep the Tar was giving me the plus numbers as best expected tho of cause not locking down until a couple scoops. By biggest problem is my scoop isn't big enough. I am completely confident in this machine and having a lot of fun. Got two more hunts down here.
  12. I’ve been wanting to use the pig tail that comes with my Tarsacci but at the same time I wanted the new Sun Ray Pro Gold headphones to go with it. I just like being able to unplug from my Tarsacci anytime I want. The headphones have a universal plug that the 1/4” screws down over the 1/8” making it two plugs in one so to say. It also has a volume control for each ear that helps me a lot being the hearing in my right ear is not as good as the other. If you’re wondering why it’s called a pig tail because it’s short like one. One important thing you need to do is anchor the pig tail down to the shaft so not to be pulling directly on it . If you don’t it’s going to take a beating and not last long at all. You can see in the picture below how I fixed that .The last picture as you can see is with the headphones plugged in. Chuck PS The headphones came from Rob’s detectors .
  13. I really liked my tarsacci , but had to pay my car inshurance, I miss the detector and want another , but am so broke , I may get the new simplex, just so i can get in the water , but I miss the way it could ignor and see thru small foils , I hope they can find a way to get the price down , I would love to have another
  14. I can understand that Dimitar don’t shout it out to the world of something new he’s coming out with on a new Tarsacci but the trouble he don’t say anything . We see all the time of a company coming out with a new detector and don’t have a small coil in the makes and don’t show a interest on having one. Dimitar is truly one that fits that bill. I hope tomorrow will be a better day for Tarsacci and the year to come. Chuck
  15. It may be others? You can take a Tarsacci out of the box new and just put it on discrimination and then set it on two 10 pound weights then start detecting. I just wanted to see just how good the discrimination was on the Tarsacci. I ran different gold rings across the coil from small to a large ones. I also tested some gold nuggets of different weights and the beast coil had no trouble detecting with good depth. When I sat the coil on the weights my thinking was this may cause some kind of overload but the Tarsacci never faltered. A lot of you may have known you could do this with a Tarsacci but I didn’t. I guess you could say I’m a new kid on the block with the Tarsacci. I just like running various test on a detector and in the case of the Tarsacci being it’s new to me. When I get out this fall I hope to find myself in gold country and even if I can’t get that small coil I’ve been wanting for my Tarsacci I’ll take it anyway. I’ll give the beast coil a run being nobody has come on here expressing their opinion of it in the gold fields. Chuck
  16. I just couldn’t seem to get the BEAST coil over any gold last weekend, except a lot of costume jewelry!😡 Thanks! Aaron
  17. Well after having my detector for only three days Dimitar repaired the original issue as well as all the damage the USPS ( and myself ) caused during shipping. I must admit my box was not the most sturdy of boxes. I’m not sure where Dimitar got the box he returned it in, but, it is by far the most sturdy thick box I have ever seen. It is bound for my attic for future use if needed. OK let’s get down to brass tacks. Owning over 18 detectors the service I received from Tarsacci was hands down the best in all categories. My original issue with heat was my power connector in the control housing showed signs of oxidation. The heat outside and the oxidation created expansion and contraction of the connector which was my power issue. Tarsacci replaced my connector. Now the control box was ruined so I received a new back panel with new coil and phone waterproof connectors. I had previously closed off my speaker openings as I am a water hunter, so, Tarsacci did not install a speaker in the new one and there will be no need to dam off the openings. There was really no need to do on the first one. Just my unwarranted worries. I also received a new screen and a new switch plate to round things off. I now have a complete new control box. In previous conversations I had mentioned I wished I could dim the back light as at night it is very bright and I had made a sun shield to dim it. Soooo Tarsacci remembered this conversation and dimmed my back light for me !!! I also received a new battery cap, new 0 rings and a new coil bolt !!! Is that top of the line or what ? Now if I had any complaints ( AND I DON’T ) I ordered a T shirt as well. I asked for a large and Dimitar told me a large fit him well and he is 6’2” 245 lbs. Lordy, I’m 5’10” and 145 lbs so I said send me a medium. I received a large. Other than that everything was more than perfect, and all this for less than taking my girlfriend out to dinner and drinks !!! If you don’t own a Tarsacci and am concerned about a smaller start up company, don’t be ! He is top of the line and the detector paired with my PI machine is all I need. It is truly a different type detector that works as well on dirt as it does the beach. Sorry for the long post but Tarsacci went above and beyond.
  18. I know myself over the years liked to hunt with a small coil but you had the option of a round coil and really was it Now days you can get them in about any variation one would want. I’d like to hear from others if you see the need for a smaller coil like the one I started this post with. Up front I want everyone know I think the beast 12” coil is great and I don’t have trouble swinging it. For myself I see the need of having a small coil would be a advantage to me when not a BeachHunter . The main advantage to a small coil to start with is you can get it in places that 12” won’t fit. As always the Best To all! Chuck
  19. You definitely want to to take the time to find how various targets respond to the 4 different frequencies & other variables in settings. Here’s one example….. HH! Aaron
  20. I might add, I know and understand why Dimitar is so secretive about revealing more detailed information on the salt balance (so called)/ threshold interactions and settings. A lot of things can change with just small adjustments and if you get one thing set wrong the machines can be severely handicapped. Yea, sure, there's quite a bit of information here about how people (users) have set the machine up but to be quite frank, some of these settings just won’t work in my area. Every location can be different and some of my sites gives the Tarsacci no leading edge over the Equinox. The essential requirement for the Tarsacci is super bad ground and I'm assuming the salt water beach. But, I'm pressing on, learning more with each outing.
  21. Tarsacci went the way of the Blisstool. It showed promise but had no practical use.
  22. Mailed my detector to California today. Going to find out why it won’t turn off at times or won’t turn on at times outdoors in 80+ degrees. Indoors 70 degrees works like it should. I will post the results.
  23. Been four months now and…….??? I’d interested in another Tarsacci that... A. Had decent tones. That high tone and high frequency hearing loss are a horrible combination. B. Makes it so I don’t have to use the one and only notch to notch out high tone false signals that no other setting on the detector will eliminate. It’s a bug and a bandaid fix. The notch should be for notching trash, not false signals. C. Get rid of multiple menus to access functions. D. Small coil. I can live without the last two, but the tones combined with high tone false signals in bad ground was a deal breaker for me. Almost nobody denies the machine performs, but a large number of people I know sold the machine due to dissatisfaction with other issues like tones, as I did myself.
  24. Sometimes rusty caps can really fool you, however there usually tell tall signs. A lot of caps come in at quarter range (23-25). The audio may also sound pretty good though it’s never going to be that sweet high tone, however you may still be tempted to dig it. In this video I am hunting in very low minerals (560), the Tarsacci always works better in higher minerals. In this low mineralized dirt, you can try every trick in the book, whipping and raising the coil, the crown cap is still going to sound good, though there will be tell tale signs like iron wrap around high end numbers. So try this...switch your frequency to 6.4 and then whip the coil, the audio really changes! Check out the video demo... Thanks! Aaron
  25. Once again today my Tarsacci would not turn off. You could feel the tactile switch clicking but no effect. I finally removed the battery cap and turned it off. I reinstalled the battery cap and could hear static in my phones as the cap negative made contact but a blank screen. I pushed and pushed and pushed the on switch to no avail. After removing the battery cap several more times each time reapplying I could hear the static in the phones but no screen. Finally upon installing the cap it came to life. I did notice that the salt balance was not acting as normal also in all frequencies. Keep in mind I have used this machine regularly for two years so I know it fairly well. This only started when I installed the new 12” coil. That is the only difference. I will put the stock coil back on and give it a go.
