Reno Chris
If it is sitting so that the sunlight touches it, its a sunbaker, whether you see it first or the detector sees it first. I've found underwater nuggets that were exposed to sunlight, and I'd also call them sunbakers, even though they were underwater.

1864hatter
I spend a lot of my time looking for gold in rivers and streams, I call a sunbaker anything thing that is immediately visible as it is naturally positioned, without covering of gravels. Even if it is a meter under water.

Gerry in Idaho
If I found one like that, I'd not call it a Sun Baker, but would call it a unique "Block Buster Find" as you have the rock it's still stuck in, as is. Please leave it like it is, as this adds character, mystery and potential value to a collector. Thanks for taking the time to catch it as discovered with your pics and being able to leave it as is. Sometimes a find is best left the way you 1st realized it. Thanks for sharing an extra ordinary find.
