Mark Gillespie
After spending many enjoyable hours of testing my TDI SL I'm starting to see some of the true advantages the AQ will have over my SL at the beach. Comparing written accounts "forums" of the AQ's capabilities to my "known" TDI experiences, it's becoming quite evident the TDI will fall quickly behind in the category of a beach hunter. Oh, there is so much to know about this new machine. For sure, there will be many unique "combination settings" discovered once the machine is released to general users. Exciting times ahead.
Steve Herschbach
Well it's all gone quiet so hopefully there will be an introduction some day. This was the only machine on the horizon I had any interest in this year but with each passing day I am thinking it will be more of a next year thing for me anyway.
Mark Gillespie
I'm with you Steve. For some strange reason I'm thinking they will wait until someone released a detector that grabs our interest. I know 1st Texas wants to release a perfect machine (nothing is perfect) out of the gate but there will be a point where people will quit waiting and move on. As I recall a couple years ago they, (presumably a leak of 2 new detectors under development, "CZX" well I waited until the Equinox was released and jumped on board. And I'm glad I did. If they wait too long, it will cost them. You know, Minelab listens to what is going on and it wouldn't surprise me if they don't release something to pickup part of that market before 1st Texas.
schoolofhardNox
I am always interested in something new, especially if it is beach related, or EMI mitigation related. But honestly I am tired of waiting on machines that never seem to come to market. Maybe if they would just let us know what is going on instead of silence, that would help. Minelab is always silent on their machines and never gives you more than a small glimpse of their new releases, but at least they do release them. My money is not everlasting by any means ?, so if I buy something today while waiting for the promised machine, I will not have the funds to buy it if it does come out! That happened with White's one time. I waited and waited and then the E Trac came out, so I bought it. They lost my sale, and helped Minelab get into my main line of machines used. Hard to knock them from that now, especially with just promises. I think it really hurts the credibility of a manufacturer to cry wolf too many times.
Marty
If they can bring out the Mantra in Gold form where it will dismiss iron,,,,,,be a machine to have for sure Marty
Steve Herschbach
I do not believe the ferrous rejection methodology employed will work for most gold nugget detecting. Too much variation in natural gold responses. Fisher Impulse AQ Logo
LE.JAG
the silence is goldenlol, it's a French expression, but I do not know, if it is well translated ...in short, some newsAQ production must "normally" start on July / Augustthere was some change on the machinenew stickera setting mode addand performance in reject modesignificantly improved (result of the first research on Terra) + for the Terrafirst tests were performedwith a new 8 inch coilssame design as the 12.5 '/ at manta technologyit starts less than 7us !!!(the delay in series is not yet fixed ...)with identque coil diameter (8 ') / facing the competitionI'm just telling you, that the results are excellent ? still a little patience and I guarantee youthat the level of performace will surprise many people extreme sensitivity on small jewels = gold possibility of finding gold on a zone full of iron (even of 24 carats)and in all-metal mode a depth on a gold ringthat you have never seenand all that = in perfect silence the others can get out all the machines they wantI think that AQ at least 5 years ahead of the competition (minimum)"""so in my opinion""" it's worth it to wait a bit ?

I hope that it works out that way in my style of hunting. If it performs that way on a beach, I will buy one. My fear is that EMI will kill most of those advantages.
Rick K - First Member
I used an AQ prototype last October under huge transmission lines - quiet as a mouse in all metal.
