Other than my minding the store here for historical purposes, the world is moving on. Soon Tesoro will be just like Compass Electronics... a fond memory for us old-timers.

Hmmm, maybe I should change this into an analog detecting forum that celebrates all the old machines regardless of brand. Obviously just being a Tesoro Forum will run out of steam entirely as time goes on.

There is a glimmer of hope.  A fellow who not so long ago advertised mods on Tesoros has relocated and although he isn’t set up yet he expects to be able to offer mods and perhaps repairs in the not t

On another note I just picked up a great little Compadre on the bay a few minutes ago. Looks to be in solid condition and has a return option. So that’s cool.

so where do I get parts now? I need the coil to rod connector bolts , washers, wing nuts for my Tesoro Lobo ST, like 6 each.

-Tom...Ace hardware has the plastic bolts but not the large wingnuts or washers.

You should be able to get neoprene washers at Ace that would work.  They would be in the little hardware trays somewhere.  As far as the plastic coil bolt and wingnut you can use most any other brand. You may need to enlarge the hole in the rod and coil or maybe wrap the bolt with a little tape if it is smaller.

You can look on Mcmaster Carr, www.mcmaster.com

Lots of cool industrial stuff, use them occasionally when tinkering.

Other option is put a bid in on the building and specify you want all the parts included hehe

It's the right thing to do when people purchased expecting a lifetime warranty.

Does anyone have an idea on how to contact the Gifford family or anyone who worked in Tesoro service?  Would like to request their service data and schematics.

If FB is the only open line of public communication I can try setting up an account.  But hoping someone has a contact.  Message me if you do and I'll give it a shot to request those details.

I tried all the email addresses I could find and never got an answer. You could contact the realtor and pass along a message that you are interested in buying the service data and schematics.

Thanks Steve, that sounds like the best route.  I got a hold of Dave Johnson but he also didn't know of a good way to contact regarding Tesoro data.  Will see if I can reach the agent sometime this week.

I also tried to contact Vince many months ago but never got a reply. The realtor was no help. Might try to find a way to contact Rusty Henry.

An intrepid forum member passed this along. Interesting, as the name does not sound “recreational” to me, more like something for geologists or exploration companies?
November 29, 2020 note: We know now this is related to the new GPX 6000 introduction.

Hello all, I just signed up!
Does anyone know what happened to the UKGPA?
I was a member and I met up with a few from there on a gold panning trip about 3-4 years ago. Thought I'd like to get back into it and have another go, but I can no longer find their website and no trace of them on the internet!
Think it was Dave and Julie running it, if I remember rightly?
Would be great to know if they are still around? any info would be greatly appreciated.
      Many thanks!

As many of you have no doubt heard, the COVID19 situation in El Paso is pretty serious. I posted a while ago information I got from them that they were busy working and shipping product (not so many AQ’s - but). Well, I just had a chance to talk to my main contact in Sales Management at FTP and I think it is useful to share the general message I got. She explained to me that the (new) facility at FTP has advanced air circulation and filtration systems - that all personnel have been provided with highly effective face masks and that workstations and all other aspects of the internal organization of where people work and how they interact with each other have been carefully arranged to absolutely minimize the chance of infection. Her general comment was - the time we spend at work is the safest part of our days. Tom (the President) is deeply involved in making this a safe workplace and has spared no expense in doing so.

There is a little coin shop next town over from me that used to be a Whites dealer and now has a big Garrett Sign out front. Will stop in and see what they have for inventory. Seems Garrett is using some of the original Whites dealers for distribution. Nice to see the dealers still offer equipment and not disbanding local sales. Good to be able to see new units in hand rather than just online pictures and videos.

I spoke with Todd Marshall today and he just picked up ALL the left over parts from White's.  He said to give him about 3 weeks to sort it all out before calling for availability.
