  1. Euro Ace and Ace Internacional .... have an extended iron identification ... and this is also a reason to change the display ..Apex solves it ...
  2. Greetings.... Mike .... I think that 6 programs at APEX could have different Recovery speed settings ... and that could change the game ... but we'll see ... The USB connector also suggests a possible software upgrade ...
  3. First of all, I have to praise for a good engineering and marketing team ...... They were able to change the design of the control panel and thus differentiate it from the old generation of Ace / Pro detectors ... and the size of the display reminds me more of the GTI series .... Another good step is to use an internal lithium battery to power the detector. they practically strongly defined themselves against the competitor Minelab Vanquish who still uses the older " Ace "design of the detector design .. Another good move is the use of multifrequency in this price class of detectors ... and this is a good technical springboard for the introduction of multifrequency in other classes of Garrett detectors as well. The multifrequency should mean ... that you have Aces in your hand .... but it will be as important as Garret can use the multifrequency effectively in his technology..It will be seen during the first tests of the Garret Apex detector ... Separate frequencies 5-10-15-20 Khz will also please because you now have in one detector after the frequency stand practically 3 Garrett detectors: Class Ace, Pro and Gold .... Manual and automatic Ground balance feeds Apex at least into the detector category Pro ..... 100 digit ID can be a great competitive advantage among multifrequency detectors ... The low weight of Apex .. and the modern 6x11 "separation coil are only documented .. that nothing is left to chance here .. but more modern approaches to detection are promoted here .. solutions that could be heard many times on this Detector prospector forum ... that's another plus for Garrett to be able to hear it ..... and put it into practice ..., I myself expected some time ago that Garret innovates his flagship GTI series, + with the addition of an improved Imaging system ... but in the end I was glad that Garret proved that he could put him in the lower price class APEX..it only indicates that Garrett believes and will be in the future to continue to improve its other classes of detectors ...
  4. And now I'm curious ,, ... to some answers about the New Garrett Apex ... from the field testers of this detector .. What advantages will this detector offer over the competition ...?
  5. Apex has ground balance.... Garrett Ace Apex metal detector specifications
  6. We can congratulate Garett on the new detector ,,, .. I think from hearing what the detectors say ...., the good news as well as the critical evaluations of the previous detector models ..... So what will Apex bring ....? Multifrequency, separate frequencies, large and backlit display, and a coil of very correct size 6x11 "- Apex=2.5lb total low weight .....and good separation ... At a price of $ 500 .. the price for such a detector is good ... If someone says ..... something is still missing on this detector. such as waterproofing ... can wait for Apex Pro ....
  7. I agree with the manual pinpointer ... it's light and compact ...
  8. I will do one more such test and publish my observations.
  9. I will answer your questions: 1 .. A .. I would suggest an in-depth test on low mineralized terrain .... -that will show the maximum practical depth of the detector as well as the quality of displaying ID or audio signal .. B. Further testing should take place in more mineralized test boxes on 4-bar-0.4% magnetite ..and 7bar -4.4% magnetite ...- it will be shown whether the detector is really universal and can work on a wide range of different mineralized terrain ... The results may surprise you .... I still use the Extreme Load Test detector and 2 test boxes with 12% mineralization of Magnetite and 33% mineralization ... Here, any technological limits or even the advantages of individual detectors will be fully demonstrated ... ,,, 2. A good separation test should be standardized and I will use it as a quality 2D test for many years ..... Monte Performance Nailboard Test .... in this test you will quickly find out the gaps as well as possible shortcomings of the tested detector and coil .... I recommend this test as an excellent test for the correct setting of the detector program for quality separation .. it concerns both digital and analog detectors ... Never underestimate the size of the coil in this test .... very many detectors have poor separation in iron because people do not use the correct size of the coil for quality separation in iron ... For the 3D test, I recommend a deep separation test from the video .... https: //www.youtube.com/watch? V = NIrZsdW3vPQ If the tested detector has good results in both 2D and 3D test, then it is really a quality separation detector ... Although in Slovakia we mostly have mild and moderately mineralized terrains, you can also meet in the mountain areas from stronger mineralized conditions .. A similar situation is in the area of the Spanish Pyrenees, where I also detect in the summer .. Yesterday I started to make a comparison in the field of Minelab Vanquish 340 on a V8 coil and Tesoro mojave on a 6 "CC coil ... This terrain is very dirty with iron and there is a problem to find any non-ferrous object ,,, and the last coin it found before the time of Tesoro Mojave on a 7 "CC precision coil .. Yesterday I marked about 15 "suspicious" targets with Tesoro Mojave with 6 "CC and then I checked them and dug them out with a Minelab Vanquish 340s V8 coil ...
  10. That's a very correct opinion Palzynski ..... who detects with Equinox ... gets used to working with Vanquish very quickly .... ,, practically the same item IDs and Audio help a lot here ...
  11. We are talking about separation tests ..... where special Depth programs on detectors will work counterproductively .... Of course, you will more or less test the detectors on programs designed for better separation .. ,, among other things, these separation programs also work better in more mineralized terrain ../- because it uses a higher recovery speed / .... The exception is Analog detectors .... but also there with some Analog detectors .. special modification of GB for better separation / Vista gold Gain / can reduce the maximum depth of detection ... ...
  12. This will change .... that when I found good signals in the field detection in a place that I have already detected by many detectors .. So it meant that this objects were already stored in the ground and masked by iron, so the previous detectors did not find it ... Sometimes it was a combination of a fast detector and a standard large coil ,, which proved in the depths to find a coin near iron ,, or it was a medium fast detector with a small coil that found a coin or 2 coins led itself at iron .... but more at the surface terrain, where this signal and other detectors simply passed ... Now I can responsibly say that the separation 2D Nailboard test and the 3D depth test can evaluate well enough how a given detector will be separated and detected in iron ... Perform these tests on a detector which is known in practical detection as an excellent detector for separation in iron ... Perform these tests on a detector known as an average or weak detector for separation in iron .... Find out for yourself that these test results correspond quite accurately with the given characteristics of the detector. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recently, my colleagues/ Top Digin / from the Polish Detection Forum have started to deal with this idea - and have created a real test field with 30 test points-/ coins/ ... where some coins are placed near iron or coke ... The maximum evaluation of the test is 150 points. And it is progressive .... This means that for a more demanding detected signal, the detector will get more points ... but as you will see in the tests .. it is a really harder nut ... So far, this test field is relatively heavily mineralized .... which significantly reduces the correct detection of the coin .... and for each detector it is really challenging ... Accurate statistics are kept on the detection of various objects, and the humidity and temperature of the terrain are also recorded .... so some tests are performed on dry and later also on wet terrain .... You can see the results in the link below the test ... soon ... these tests will be reworked into English ...
  13. The second equally important thing from this test is to show what the correct and effective setting of the detector is in the test - I consider it very important and also sufficiently instructive. As for the test, Tesoro Mojave and Vista Gold Gain, when set correctly, won on both 8/8 and 8/8 coins ..that means maximum evaluation ... Vanquish 340 which has a fixed iron bias to a high level reached 7/8 and 8/8 points ... which I also consider an excellent result, and I believe that the V540 which also has a low setting Iron biass can reach 8/8 and 8/8 maximum rating .... These tests are only an approximation of how the detector will work in real field ... but I consider them to be very authoritative ... So now I will see how Vanquish with a coil will behave in real detection and I will try to directly compare Tesoro Mojave and Vanquish 340 on 20 suspects signals ....in real detection ...
  14. So ... Separation tests have already been done ... and I included those tests in the Vanquish 340 with a V8 coil ... and also two Analog detectors .... Tesoro Mojave and Vista Gold Gain .... on small 5..7 "coils ... In the nailbordtest, I tested these three detectors on 2 different conductive coins of the same weight and size .... because I consider it a fair evaluation of any detector in the tests .... It is more or less the rule that detectors have a bigger problem detecting a high-conductivity silver coin in a nailbord test ... and they achieve better results on a low-conductivity nickel coin ... but there are exceptions ... which happened during this testing .... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So we start with: 1.Minelab Vanquish with V8 coils in Allmetall won in this nailbord test: Highly conductive silver coin..result is 7-point out of 8-point max ... Low-conductivity nickel coin..the result is 8-point out of 8-point max ... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.Tesoro Mojave with 5.7 "concentric coil gained: Highly conductive silver coin-result is 8 points out of 8max .. Low-conductivity nickel coin..the result is 8-point out of 8-point max ... What is interesting, I tried to find the maximum limit of the discrimination setting on Tesoro Mojave .. where it will still fit the high-conductivity silver coin still with the maximum result of 8 points out of 8max .... The safe limit is in the PT area in the picture .... How to set the discrimination for the best separation result on Low-conductivity nickel coins by writing at the end of the test .... but I can now say that the difference in the setting of discrimination is significant ... .... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Vista Gold Gain with 5.7 "DD coil gained: Highly conductive silver coin..result is 7-point out of 8 points max. Low-conductivity nickel coin..the result is 8-point out of 8-point max ... If you raise the spool to 10 -15 centimeters above the Nailboard test, you will also get a result of 8 points out of 8 points max on a highly conductive silver coin ... Another good and effective setting for Vista Gold Gain for better separation ... which is worth doing is to shift the ground balance to 9 hours -.... as it is in the picture ... -the detector then significantly better separates signals from the coin and when the spool is very low above the nailboard test and you reach 8 points max on both coins .. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When separating low-conductivity nickel coins, however, pay attention "..." and for the best result of 8 points max, you have to set the discrimination on Tesoro Mojave just below the label Foil ... as it is in the second picture ... So in this case, Tesor has better results in the separation on high-conductivity coins and it distinguishes it from other detectors in the test ... maybe it's also due to the concentric coil ....
  15. Palzynski....Thank you .... Right now I came from work ... but in the evening I will compare Vanquish with V8 coil and Tesoro Mojave with 15cm concentric coil on this nailboard test ...
  16. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ... tonight I did a similar Nailboard test Minelab Vanquish 340 ..but on a small V8 coil... The results of the separation were definitely much better .... When some time ago I got up to 5 points out of 8max from the Vanquish 340 and the V10 coil in the same test .... now I got up to 7 points out of 8 points max in the same test on the small V8 coil ... From the comparison of the depth range ... V10 coils and V8 coils I will give out that the range of these coils will not be far from each other ,,, at least on my Vanquish340 ... The V8 coil is very stable even at the maximum sensitivity of the detector. Vanquish is very well balanced and compact with the V8 coil .... I even dare to say ... that if Vanquish were sold in a standard package with a V8 coil, it would be a more advantageous, better and even cheaper / 200 euros / alternative for both beginners and advanced detectors ... Minelab should think about that ... Another important thing at least for me .... when we think about it .... that the Vanquish 340 with a V8 coil would be practically worth 200 euros - we get to a technically important milestone ... and this is a multifrequent Pinpointer with a relatively long range and with the exact ID ... in depth .. at a price of 200 euros .... It's only a matter of time before some manufacturers ... come to market with such a multifrequency pinpointer whith "ID" ...
  17. I ordered a V8 probe for my Minelab Vanquish 340 ... I will see what the difference will be ... in the depth and separation of detection..in comparison with the V10 coil which is standard..for Vanquisha 340 ... The V8 coil is relatively light and weighs 363 grams ...
  18. I would think about the temperature difference if a signal sounded when the coil was immersed .. ,, ....There is a question whether changing SAT will help more, for example....
  19. ....I would try to use the Frequency Shift function - where a stronger deviation from the main center frequency of the detector upwards should help reduce the strength and amount of RX received detector signal ..- and in this case more stable and better detection ... It is best to use the Shift frequency and at the same time try to reduce the sensitivity of the detector ... to an acceptable level... I used this trick with success with some detectors - which, when working on the main central frequency, it was not even possible to properly tune the ground because they already switched to overload when transferring GB ...
  20. Concentric coil and Tesoro Mojave's discriminating circuits are an effective combination for eliminating bottle caps ... ,, I think it is built directly on the concentric coil .. The DD type coil ... no longer has such an advantage here, because it is necessary to strongly increase the level of discrimination up to Zinc in order for it to have the desired effect .... Of the three good analog detectors I use - Golden Mask C-K 15khz,, ... Vista Gold Gain 30khz and Tesoro Mojave12khz ... is Mojave is the only detector that uses Concentric Coils ... and in combination with one-tone silent discrimination, it enables long-term tireless detection.
  21. Palzynski I have to admit that you do really very good tests .., and I'm happy to read your really well done reviews ... on the various detectors you tested ..... and I also agree with your rating ... Your opinions are correct .... also in terms of Vanquisha power supply .. The multifrequency has a very strong energy consumption ... and lithium batteries or accumulators are the optimal source here .. I use lithium batteries for the Whites Spectra V3 detector and it is really the best power alternative for this multifrequency detector as well. . A good alternative is also the use of powerful high-capacity but also high-quality Ni-Mh AA Accumulators. V8 coil ... The day before yesterday I ordered a V8 coil for Vanquish ... which comes along with 5.3 "concentric tesoro Epsilon coils for Mojave ... I believe that the V8 coil could move the Vanquish detector even further ..., and it can also be a very good backup detector to Equinox on a small 6 "coil ... I also think that the price of a V8 reel around 103 euros is very reasonable .... and for a little money we can ... improve detection Vanquish ...
  22. I ordered a 5.3 "/ 15cm / concentric coil for Tesoro Mojave .. ,, in my opinion there are not many of these coils for sale ... so I said to myself .... I will buy it now or never ... I believe that this coil will not disappoint me ...
  23. All tested gold is pure 24 carat gold divided from 1 gram 24 carat gold brick ... So even 0.1 gram is pure 24 carat gold .... It's not my idea. ,,. I took this standardized test from a colleague ... who detects gold in rivers and streams ... ,, where there is no strong mineralization ... Such a test quickly reveals the relative sensitivity of the detector and coil to small as well as larger gold. And most importantly, it will show what the detector settings should be correct ... so that it can achieve good detection results. You may notice 0.4 grams / small pieces of gold / a test sample of gold with a range of 10 cm ..... and you will see a significantly reduced detection range .... compared to a 0.5 gram solid piece of gold .. where the range is up to 18 cm ... - So the reach will still depend on how gold is internally, structurally compact. Airtest ... Here we come close to what the detector can detect correctly on low mineralized terrain ... but you have to count about minus 15% -20% from the airtest to achieve real depth results in field tests. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This 0.05 gram 3x5mm O-shaped gold micro-ring buried at 10cm is my equivalent of 0.1 gram of gold on my low mineralized test field. Each Detector must have a range of at least 12cm-13cm in the Airtest ... so that this ring can correctly detect ... Whites Spectra V3 at 22.5khz , 5hz Band filter and a very high RX Gain and Ds sensitivity setting proves it .... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is one thing that Steve has already written ... the range of the Spectra V3 detector will still depend on the detector setting for the given mineralized terrain ... For terrain with higher mineralization ... You must use a higher Ground filter / 10 Hz high or 12hz Band filter / a also lower preamp Rx Gain 4-7 .. and that means lower range of the detector ... even when testing in air .. Now ... Count the still natural 30-50% signal attenuation in mineralized terrain ... and you will get to the real range of the detector in such terrain ... Gold detectors are already pre-set and optimized for work in high mineralization..so they will achieve trouble-free, stable detection and good detection results even on such demanding terrain...
