  1. Don't know how I missed this post but a "belated" congratulations on a very interesting ring!
  2. So even a $300 connector will make noise? I just posted on another thread that I'd be willing to pay more for a connector that didn't make noise. Apparently there is no fix.
  3. I know a couple of guys who get in the water about waist deep and move in a straight line like they're being chased. After an hour and no targets they're ready to drive to another beach. See you later. lol
  4. I would gladly pay more for a coil connector at the pod; that doesn't "sound off" when its entering the salt water or waves hitting it. Been there with the Infinium and it isn't fun.
  5. And from what I understand... If the earring is hollow it's even harder to pick up.
  6. Nice button. I think I'll be knocking on your door asking for permission to hunt your yard! LOL
  7. On land... The side of a cast iron wood stove. In water... A boat anchor. Also, partially dug up an aluminum beach chair. Way too much work to try and remove it.
  8. I can’t begin to count how many times I have not been able to get in the water because of the surf. This is the time I crank up the sensitivity and hunt the wet sand real slow. Lots of great results. I can’t imagine what the AQ might produce in that situation with its power.
  9. That had to be a fun hunt. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
  10. Nice reports Carolina and congrats on the gold. I’ll bet you’ll be showing us plenty more. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
  11. My Infinium had that problem where the coil wire connected to the box. As soon as it touched the salt water or my wet trunks a signal was generated.
  12. Nice heavy ring Joe! And the AQ has paid for itself. Nice going!
  13. So true! One thing I failed to ask ML... Is a NEW 3 year warranty now in place with the new coil and also had a new pod about 1 month ago? It's like a brand new machine again.
  14. Thanks Jim! This break was under warranty so off to the factory it went and in came the new one. I like the fix you describe. It will be SO helpful in the future. Thanks Again! Bob K
  15. It is not uncommon (at least for me) to go to a popular beach, hunt in the water and not get a target for 20 minutes. A lot of other hunters pound these places day and night. I'm using a VLF and so are the other hunters. In this case a PI would be very helpful.
  16. I think you have 2020 vision. No pun intended. I started in the '70's when even mediocre detectors found silver coins all over the place. Gold nugget hunting started for me in the mid '80's. Again lots of virgin sites and not an overabundance of people involved. I saw a kid today on the beach walking with his detector over his shoulder. Not sure why but I wouldn't be surprised if he was bored with it. I find more titanium, chromium and tungsten rings than ever before. Kids get bored easy if there isn't instant gratification. The younger folks will gladly pay $800 for a new phone. Look at what it does!
  17. Well that explains it pretty well about the noise between the two. I am running the Excalibur at 9-10 in pinpoint and it gets somewhat noisy with chatter mostly on uneven bottom. There is also the long dull noise at the end of some swings but I just deal with it. I am running the stock Minelab earphones but will soon be sporting some Tony E's. You sure are neck deep out there. When I wear a wet suit in the winter it's almost impossible for me to dig those deep targets when that deep. I become too buoyant and need a weight belt. Thanks for the video... Bob
  18. Hey. I think I recognize one of those rings. 😂 Nice pile for sure!
  19. I have a few scoops including an RTG travel scoop. It’s solid aluminum with pretty big holes, but my main complaint is the handle turns my hands black. Anybody else have that problem? Bob
