  1. Well your th 2nd one on this thread who confirmed that the 15 inch coil was not worth having. So I will not pay any attention to those. And yes I do believe that the T2 has taken it's place in history as to what it offers and where it lines up in today's market with the onset of new units that have hit the scene. I have one of those Vanquish 540 units. I think it is a fun unit however I see it's limitations too. I wish it was selectable frequency. Even with just having one frequency to choose from as a single frequency to search with along with the multi q thing would be a large improvement on the machine. And I am sure it would not cost that much more to have that option too on the vanquish.
  2. So you have the same deus since 2013? If so that is awesome. I too have a deus. I do not have as much time under my belt as with my ORX since I purchased the orx first...but am getting more familiar with it. But glad yo see there are no battery failures with your experience with XP units!!
  3. I doubt it. I think since they have other products that they make such as night vision equipment and the fact that they make the Bounty Hunter line that a lot of the big box stores sell, I do not think they are in any danger at the moment. They also make other name brands under contact too. I do not know what they are though but maybe someone here does. I agree to an extent somewhat with what your saying about them being pretty quiet here lately though. Dave Johnson who is or was the engineer was probably one of the most recognized engineer in this hobby for the past 30 to 40 years. He has designed everything from the Fisher 1260 to the F75 and a ton in between such as the Tesoro lobo super traq, whites mxt, Teknetics Omega, the Teknetics T2, and dozens more. I think he is still with First Texas but I am not sure if he has retired or not yet. I am sure others will chime in one his one.
  4. I saw one of those the other day at a pawn shop and almost bought it but passed. I thought they wanted a little too much for it....159.00 or so. I always like the screen on that one. I have never hunted with one though. Is that the one you started out with??
  5. I have the ORX too. Man what a fun mahine that puppy is. I had an equinox 600 as well for a little while. I liked the screen on it too. However I sold it and everything else when I got the ORX and saw how it performed. But here lately I guess I have been curious on some others I have never tried like the T2 to see what I think about it. My friend uses a T2 and has several other good machines. A few Tesoro units like the bandido 2 umax, lobo super traq, tejon, cibola silver sabre, whites dfx, Garrett at pro and the at gold, nokta relic, and some more I cannot remember and out of all of them his go to machine is the T2.
  6. Wow so that is the reason why they do not seem very popular. You know I had one of the MGC labs coils made in Russia on a makro racer 2. It is a very good coil. It is less expensive than the detech coil and others. Matter of fact they out my little email up on their website on my thoughts of their racer coil. I was disappointed to see on their website that they do not have one out for the T2 yet. Anyways I have some time to ponder the thought a little on the T2 with other coils. I used to use Teknetics products all of the time. I had the Omega 8000, Eurotek pro and gamma. At the time the best bang for the buck was the Eurotek pro imo. That little thing was fun to use. They are a decent mid range brand. It is all about having fun anyway and seeing what clicks with you the best. I like to try different machines to see how they compare to others.
  7. Hey Chase you meant to put me in my place with that coil remark didn't you?? 😋 No offense taken at all. Yeah the concentric coils are handy with bottle caps. Seems like there also was the old coil wiggle thing you could do on a suspicious bottle cap target that would make the iron fart come out in the signal and also raising the coil above the target on a bottle cap the numbers would drop where as on a coin or good target the numbers would remain the same. I do not see many people using g the large Teknetics coil with the T2 for wide open places. Everyone seems to get one of the coils by Mars or similar from Europe. Is it because the large white coil is heavier??
  8. Looking forward to your next session results on depth. I think you have done a pretty good review so far.
  9. Thanks for your input. I have to say that I am looking forward to messing around with it and yes I notice there are several coils out there as well. I have to ask though.....what did you replace your T2 with?? The reason I am getting some of these order units here lately is for back up units for my XP stuff. I have not had any problems with my XP machines but you just never know. Also I think having a detector that takes regular batteries is beneficial as well instead of just having a unit with an internal battery.
  10. Yeah I knew the coils were not compatible. The only other coil I think I would be interested in is one of the large DD style ones made over in Europe or the MGC labs one from Russia.
  11. I have never used the T2 Teknetics before. I have owned the original green T2 several years ago and other than turning it on and testing it out a little my buddy pretty much begged me to sell it to him and that was that. So I have one coming to me now which is the T2 SE. Now I have had the F75 SE LTD and from what I gather the difference between the T2 and F75 are this F75 has a back light, the ability to save your settings and the iron disc stops at 20 and the T2 iron disc stops at 40. Plus the layout if the screen is different but similar still. I think that is the difference between the 2. Anyways, I am looking forward to getting it. I liked how the F75 balanced and it was a good machine. So anyone else still swinging one of these??
  12. That was a great video to watch. I enjoyed it. I saw no difference really between the 2 programs other than how the tones were set. I think deus fast was just as good. You found some great stuff on that hunt. Very fun to watch!!
  13. I did notice that AQ post!!! Thanks for sharing the link. I guess I did not go back far enough. I kind of want one of these to be honest!! I watched a guy on YouTube use one on a beach and man was it quiet I the wet sand. Plus the red backlight looked real good. I do not need one though!! But it is tempting!!
  14. I just noticed that bounty hunter has a newer unit out the time ranger pro. Looks like an F19 or G2. I am sure it has the same specs as the others as well.
  15. Welcome aboard!! I used to use Xterra machines. They were real fun for their time. Also was one of the first of it's type being just a large Target ID number and the ability to change frequencies depending on the coil you love. You will like it here!!
  16. Welcome aboard and good to have you. Especially a Tesoro user!! It is fun here and a nice bunch of guys too. Enjoy!!
  17. Thanks for sharing! I love hearing about that kind if stuff.
  18. I am late to the game here but I got to add a few of my own 2 cents. I too watched some of the simplex videos vs other detectors. I do not believe the hype at all that the simplex machine is deeper than the Deus or equinox. Total b.s. as I have compared the simplex myself to the ORX here at home. The reason the simplex gets decent depth is due to the 11 inch coil. It also cannot separate well in trashy iron environments. So in the real world from my own testing, the simplex is a great starter unit that has many good benefits for what it cost but lacks keeping up with the XP and equinox machines and others I am sure from different brands like the T2 and F75 and I have owned both if those in the past and are excellent metal detectors. The 9 inch coil on my ORX goes deeper than the 11 inch on the simplex. Now a good comparison dollar for dollar for the simplex would be a Teknetics Eurotek pro with the 11 inch coil. Other than not being water proof I think it would be more in the ball park for apples vs apples.
  19. If you do have a UFO experience, I would love to hear it!! No kidding either. Cool interesting find as well.
  20. Interesting thoughts on your find rates going down. Maybe it is due to being so used to the T2 and DFX that you can interpret what they are telling you better. Maybe the tones of those machines are better on your hearing than the Deus and Equinox are. I have found in the past others have mentioned the same things.
  21. Your going to enjoy the vanquish 540. I have one I picked up from a friend a couple of weeks ago. I am very surprised at the simplicity of the machine verses the performance it has. It is by far the best bang for the buck out there in my opinion for land hunting. I have tested it on deep coins and it picks them up very good. I only have the V12 coil but am considering getting the v8 coil. Your gonna love it. It is about as easy as it can get being a digital turn on and go machine. I do not know what you used in the past but if you ever used an Xterra detector the vanquish is in a completely different class as the Xterra's are. IN other words, the vanquish is way way better than the xterra line up.
  22. Yes that's it....that is who I called and talked to for a bit. Yes they sold to the public at his shop in Alabama and also was the distribution center for the region.
  23. I tried to call the Sweet Home Oregeon facility. All that happrned was just a recording that kept on replaying over and over. So being an ex Whites dealer I decided to try Whites of the Mid South. Dwight the owner helped me set up my little shop when I got going. Anyways they told me they only had a few units left and they did have a lot of accessories left. I chatted a bit about how sad it was that Whites were no longer. Dwight seems to think the covid mess going on is part to blame. I guess it is possible. I asked them if they were going to pick up another brand and keep on selling metal detectors. They said no. I was surprised by that response. That same facility that is Whites of the Mid South is a Lawn and Garden Coop type place and one of the largest Old Timer knife dealers in the state. I guess being a die hard whites distribution center they do not have the heart to sell another brand. Heck if I were them I certainly would. Anyways....just thought I would share my findings.
  24. This little cartoon with flashlights really did not answer anything about my inquiry either. But what the heck....here it is for those of you who have not watched it.
  25. Picked one of these up yesterday. So far it seems to be pretty sturdy and well made. My question is this.....multi iq thing I know it runs in multiple frequencies.....but what frequencies is it running on?? Cannot find anything about it Hh Tim
