  1. Aye Aye we are a lucky generation we have the gold detector to take a lot of the work out of the job, but regardless you certainly deserve the rewards Rob for putting the effort in. Our detectors are without doubt the best method of loaming where the overburden depth allows, especially the sensitive Z and now the even more sensitive 6K.
  2. Good one AFN, about time you took the plunge you were like a jittery soon to be bride. WTG but, the 6Ks the machine of 21. PS.... thanks Gerry for making AFN mind up.🙃
  3. Nah Nah you ML testers leave ML alone they make gold detectors that find gold. And also ML testers, leave us backyarders alone, we find gold with those crappy inferior ML detectors and the superior add ons we improve them with...........🤪
  4. Interesting but mainly ironic, Xcoil drama was brought about by negativity, and people believing they had a message in their negative barrow they push now boots have changed feet, me I'm a positive X coil user now a positive 6K user, both putting weight in the pocket. Seems the negativity was made with a supposed message in that negativity guess I'm walking down a barb wire fence with a leg on each side. Your not wrong NE, negativity is not constructive mostly destructive.
  5. Yeah JP no drama I was just avin a go, but thank you for the offer. I reckon most of us will fit those clips to stop the miss alignment of the 6Ks shaft, I have seen non-metalic ones but can`t remember where ... CRAFT disease. Tourists are up the gulf I suspect, very few around here.
  6. Welcome back, DP being down for awhile reminded this old codger how important DP is to my lifes enjoyment. Thank you Steve.
  7. Hey oneguy, that is magic you have the golden touch.
  8. Righto JP this holding the 6K 17 coil supply off from the rest of us in OZ just because you want to flog all our spots is totally selfish, even somewhat corrupt. I'll forgive you if you send me a 6K 17 coil pleeeeeze....
  9. Aye they indeed are what`s oneguy on about...................
  10. Nah don`t go, send it downunder to a neglected ML super supporter.
  11. On ya Chase, found for me just a couple of tries logs me on. Steve probably introduced a gremlin in before he left just to test us......... nah only jesting......... 🙃
  12. Got to agree in totality with AussieMatt, the ergonomics alone is not what the 6Ks about, it is going to bring a lot of pleasure to a lot of users and newbies. Detecting 6K gold is still as frustrating and challenging as its ever been but those who welcome this challenge of our healthy hobby and get to know/respect their new lover will be rewarded with years of pleasure until ML does their thing again. Equally there are many doing this happy thing with older detectors. Tis just a new toy cycle that repeats over and over for some of us. The Spice of our life.
  13. Nah, the speaker has naught to do with the pick up of EMI, I suspect those who believe this is so just have the volume turned up too much, the EMI I have experienced is there whether on the Bluetooth headphones or speaker tis just amplified with high volume as any audio interference is. I use the Torus aptX speakers mainly and though I`m not absolutely sure some EMI is caused by planes I suspect it is so and is simply a trade off between a super sensitive magic detector the 6K is. In the past such negativity has caused a lot of delay in those who sit on the fence, myself I have yet to be burnt by being a ML detector early bird and that is since they first built the 15000 way back last century. ML to date have not built a lemon IMO.
  14. You are a legend Gerry, it don`t get any better then Wades intro to MLs 6K detector in Gerrys Hall of Fame or anyones. Even if your a few grams short of an ounce. On ya.
  15. Be an undug, no vid, gold search mode over some deep productive undistrubed ground, one such patch the last gold got on using Z/19ML (hopefully owner to burn area soon as hasn`t been burnt since19ML proved itself), be as per original 6K11/ZX first impression thread. I am looking forward to the 17 as feel it will be very competitive, but a warning I want it to be so as the 6Ks a lovely chick to swing with as we know. Totally unbiased impression to the latest toy... crikey my tongues firmly in cheek🤪
  16. Good News GC, no news downunder, hopefully my dealer has in mail soon, be able to sort out the Z/6K depth comparison with like size coils ie. 17X CC coil on Z.
  17. JP I am assuming it was the plane, no fence was within cooee or anything else that I was aware could set off the 6K, stability returned once plane was well past, experience I`ve not noted before thus plane could have had some unusual electronic gear on board. I know helicopters much closer have no effect as my backyard have them going over daily during winter delivering tourists to the resort properties and chasing poachers, they come in pretty close to identify non-poachers. Keeping the coil flat and close to ground did not help as that is normal for this old codger, especially yesterday as I was having a productive day, mobile phone on as per norm. w/. Oziexplorer for tracking/waypoint saving and not in aeroplane mode. Please note I am assuming it was the plane, be only if more times this occurs can such an assumption be verified, I too was surprised.
  18. Fairly good demo, honest no bias. Two observations from my take. 1. DOD coils like DD have a blade like field wheras Mono have a cone, thus the 6K would have to have the centre of coil over target for max depth, at the angle of the shaft that appears to me would not be so until targets down 300plus. 2. Same comparison with say a 0.2gram may indicate what I believe the 6K edges out the Z even with a comparable size 10 X coil but that is a deaf old codgers findings my son believes the 10X/Z has the edge. I am keeping my Z as I`ve stated in an earlier post until the 17" 6Kcoil has been run, but I suspect as JP/ML have indicated ZVT has it over PIs for larger deep pieces. The 6K sure is a lovely lightweight to swing, yesterday I got my biggest 6K piece was a 1.8gram (first over a gram of a few hundred) flat solid at about 6ins gave a lovely warble in difficult and a distinct single signal in normal, sens auto+ before the ground was disturbed, ground was 1ft high lightly grassed.
  19. Ok, yesterday whilst detecting I had an irregular event for my remote area, a light plane went over at probably 1000ft, sight seeing I suspect. My 6K went totally unstable, so leaving it on no adjustments, coil on ground I had a spell and observed once the plane had moved on the 6K quietened down and I carried on for rest of detect. Unusual I've not experienced a detector react to such in such a way before, but it gives me an appreciation more of a detecting environment a lot are in everyday.
  20. Maybe the 6K owners are having such a ball learning how to use their 6K they see little point in a Z/K comparison, my experience is it cleans up the Z on small and depth of small scraps in both quiet and noisy ground, and that's with the 10 X coil which is the 6K/11 monos closest competitor in my armoury by far and that is also my viewpoint on why the X coils were not given the ML chip to save customers going down the patch cable path, simply to not have a competitor even their own out here in the Gold detecting world. I don't begrudge them for doing that it is their right to protect their IP and market products however they see fit, but it is also the right of a customer in the commercial world to seek and pay for a solution to suit their application. I emphasise the pay for, because it is that what funds R&D and thus tech advancement. OK I'm off my soap box now.#@$^@#$ 🤥
  21. I`m on the users side, this thread is about whether the 6K coils coils are on the same path as the 7000 coils were. Promised but not delivered, thus wonder is the 17"6K Mono coming or just promised? Of course Covid has slowed production and that is a valid reason for the delay, there was no valid reason with the smaller coil for the Z in fact no explanation at all, fair enough because ML do make the most superior detector and they have their business plan, plus we don`t have to buy their detectors but I`m a long time customer and have never been disappointed with a ML detector, I`m just hoping that`s enough brownie points for them to listen, I want a 17" 6K Mono coil on 6K not a promised one. Tis early days and I may be jumping the gun just a wee bit, hmmmmm not really just getting in early so as to perhaps not go down the GPZ7000 wait coil track.🤞
  22. There is no debate ML has the superior detector smarts brought about by R&D money that comes from us the customer. The explanation that fine tolerances needed for todays electronics whilst true is a lame excuse just ask most X coil users, in fact the closest detector in my armory to compete with a 6K/11" mono combo is a a Z/X small coil combo in ability not in weight or "swingability" of course. Obviously the X coil manufacturer has the superior smarts not to just produce coils for the Z but better performing coils, as does Coiltek and NF also as ML pre 6K PIs users will attest. ML knows this thus the prime reason/excuse for the chips. Ingenuity and Innovation brings us MLs superior gold detectors as it will bring us superior coils, accept you don`t make superior coils ML and allow the aftermarket fellows to do their thing.
  23. Simply use the Camel Back KUDU 20 with a hip stick, the carriage part complete with water bladder can be simply unzipped leaving just the harness with back protector for short detects.
