  1. You will make some good finds by doing that. Get a decent size rare earth magnet to speed up finding the dug nails.
  2. Welcome from East Texas.
  3. That's an old one looking at the shank.
  4. That's a nice assortment of relics. Hopefully you can get some brush cleared out. Maybe you could rent a walk behind DR Field & Brush mower. Mine has opened up many otherwise impossible sites. That site has real potential.
  5. That is a good static test comparison video. My results with the Legend mirrors it. The Nexus is an impressive machine. I look forward to their testing of the Rutus Versa. I have high hopes for it.
  6. Welcome from East Texas.
  7. It is wise to be mindful now a days. If we detected 100 years ago it would be moonshiners.
  8. Now those are special finds. I think I would spend some time & effort poking around in that area. Bound to be cooler up there too.
  9. Quest is a small entity and defending in a Lawsuit is probably prohibitively expensive for them. Garrett & XP enjoy a different position. Ever notice who a bully picks on? What about a reshipping company's service?
  10. That's a neat modification on the small engine wrench. it looks like you have some good potential in your new hunting grounds. Some nice finds showing.
  11. Is the sand itself mineralized or just iron contaminated?
  12. Your making a good start of it. Welcome from East Texas.
  13. 90 kHz sure must be unique in today’s market. What limitation of depth on coin size targets?
  14. To get a general idea of relative mineralization; Set the detector to a Single frequency with moderate sensitivity. Adjust the Ground Balance to the lowest setting. Make sure any ground tracking is off/disengaged. Hold the coil waist high & engage the Pin point button and hold while lowering the coil to the ground. Note the response. Repeat the Pin point procedure with a mid level GB setting & a max GB setting. Note the relative responses. Little to no difference in the 3 GB point responses means little to no mineralization. The more difference, the more mineralized.
  15. That would be fun but it is hard to get away. I’m about 2 hours West of old Fort Jessup. Who knows?
  16. I just Subscribed to your Channel and watched the first "intro" video. I think it will be very helpful to many and fun too. Even if someone doesn't get a Nexus or use an Analog machine, there is a lot that can be learned from them and your experience will show that. I have been, and still really am in the same position with the Tarsacci MDT 8000. Very powerful unit, but also a very different animal. My Vista X is a hybrid Analog machine and it is pretty amazing in heavy iron and minerals. What these two detectors have that is missing from the more popular detectors is a true All Metal channel. Mixed mode is also almost unheard of today. The Nexus has both plus other refinements. A very interesting machine. Looking forward to the journey with you. Where & what kind of ground conditions do you hunt? I'm digging relics in East Texas red dirt that sticks to a magnet.
