Beach Hunt 2023 Has Started
rvpopeye replied to schoolofhardNox's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
It all looks great as always ! But the SLQ's head looks like a skeleton skull Dang.....that's what I forgot....LABELS ! Curse you Red Baron ! Foiled again ! ? ? Some day..maybe . If I just keep trying , there it will be right in front of me , your beach ! LOL -
I never had that problem . So do any of you guys think I should take "wife" off my bucket list ???

SOHNox 350 just made me look bad like you do .? My story is much easier ! I just clean off the detector and pointer with a baby wipe or two. Those things will take off 90w gear oil and bondo , even partially cured f-glass so a little dirt is p o cake easy. ? The cam bags are $2 ($1.60 on tuesday!) Cleaning off the targets is the hard part for me ! The boots , not so much. While I do rinse them off near shore in a tidal pool after the flats before tossing in the trunk . I just stomp a bit before going inside the rig otherwise ....real easy during winter just kick the step . I DO rinse the T Rex off once in a while. Rubber coated gloves just get rotated out , or replaced when they get religious enough. Ask me what I do with the guitar though and all bets are off ! ?

Not counting the GW 20% senior discount on tuesday....

Missed it by that much Todd. I lived on 3rd a 1/2 block from Speedway in '82 ! Welcome aboard and the 800 is a fine step up. You'll learn all you need about it right here. There is an all equinox forum and don't miss Steve's Guides For now , trust the factory presets the engineers picked out for you. Learn what one control does at a time . It's like eating elephants. Research is the key to good spots.

Hey , wait up ! I wanna play ! I scan Goodwill for pouches camera bags etc. The boots are clean cuz they're new (I went with insulated for long days walking in streams this year , OK anything over an hour...)! Note the ice spikes strap , You only need to fall in once ! The belt $4 ,plastic dig trowel $4 the Canon finds bag (has a zip section for the good 'uns) $2 , all from GW .The tools are in a HD electrician's tool bag.. $12 ? Also carry the spare PP cuz the ML 35 as we all know can get finniky . I lost my old Fiscars hori but the new CORONA one $20 is better even without the brand name ! The tool pouch rides on left hip and the finds bag is on the right just back behind the detector swing space. I drag the shovel and a kneeling pad / + a 2'x2 'plastic sheet for quick and clean return of dug dirt. I have a few more bag/pouches for extra's as needed (foo) but this is the basic everyday rig. I have a small bottle in my back pocket for that beachy sand dry mouth !

Oh yeah ? I HAVE a stinkin' badge ! Me crew made it for me the day I decided I was gonna give 'em out for their confirming stories of "Ain't Rightness". Soon after the stories started getting posted .... great fun arrrrrrrrrrr ! After the first suggestion of them , my first post was "We don't need no stinkin' badges ! " But then relented as we are YARC and everything we do "Ain't Right" , so of course We MUST HAVE THEM ! Skuh kuh kuh kuh kuh Here it is ! TWO YARC STINKIN' BADGE The TWO is my "Official Title" The Weirdo Overlord ! They wanted to call me the Grand Poobah ! but I rejected it as sounding too much like a dirty diaper and created it myself ! .... It was "Ain't Right" enough to be right ! right ? (the holes on the points are "bullet holes", each given out for new "Deeds of Ain't Rightness" ... so I got the maximum dose !) The club prayer...I'"Ain't Right" but I can change . I don't think so , NO WAY ! 'er sumpin' like that....

I really feel sorry for you having to dig junk like that..... CAN I HAVE IT ? ? Seriously though , choice finds ! And you probably won't find any pull tabs either!? Savor every target , many never get a place like that to detect... -
Headphone Adapter - Broke Apart In MXT Pro
rvpopeye replied to glacialgold's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Put a drop of cyano on any of those adapters you use where it pulled apart , those things are held by mostly pressure in the molding process ., plastic doesn't stick very well to chrome (solder doesn't either).? -
Headphone Adapter - Broke Apart In MXT Pro
rvpopeye replied to glacialgold's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Good 1st choice. We used to be able to open up the device to clear that jack. Of course plugs and adapters didn't fall apart so much then either. Now they seal a lot of things for waterproofing , like a cell phone battery . That's progress I guess. Removing any tool should always be considered before using it , it makes you more careful. (an old union master I apprenticed with told me that one.) Acetone (nail polish remover) dissolves cyano acrylate (super glue) Same way it got in there..or a q tip. -

A suitable dia + length screw . Or,if that paper clip doesn't snag it enough to pull it out . Try putting a drop of super glue on it first and wait a minute before pulling on it.. -
Penny Farm Gets Its 2 Cents In
rvpopeye replied to F350Platinum's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
I'd be happy with a 1964 ! Those look so much better though . WTG as always 350 ! I usually bypassed the lowlands by traveling on 81 (95-90-84-81-40 I'll never go through VA on 95 again ! ) towards N-ville (either one) but am very tempted to take a eastern loop next time to visit. Roanoke hill would be nice to miss , I always ended up on the breakdown so the trucks in the slow lane could pass ! In both directions... LOL -
