As an engineer, the shape of it will force it down on the bottom instead of floating upward. It would create down force like the wing on an Indy/F1 car. Don't know if that's good in a real rocky area though...

These Are The Droids I Was Looking For
mudwhale replied to CPT_GhostLight's topic in XP Deus II Forum
Yes! Steve's Rods are simply amazing quality and very well thought out. I was in on the first wave and was blown away at the workmanship. I have the antenna wire through the shaft and it works perfect. I did the dual setup right away with mine. Cheers and HH! -
The only thing is the GTAX requires 8 batteries compared to the new detectors and they lasted half as long in the field. The 550 still works great though and was ahead of it's time back in the day.

I have a GTAX 550 that I bring out once in a while.

I have found similar beach sites that were Beer party Heaven Bonfire spots with melted blobs of melted beer cans everywhere.

I am currently using the Grey Ghost XP compatible headphones that accept the WS6 Puck. I am LOVING them especially when it's chilly outside. The sound quality is excellent.

Good Base Programs And Settings For Wet Ground?
mudwhale replied to parkgt's topic in XP Deus II Forum
Great reply! Gary Blackwell stated in one of his videos that the "General" program is best for wetter ground, -
Don't know about the WS6 Master. The antenna is just an insulated wire. It has been demonstrated that using any wire at all accomplishes the same thing. I happen to like the design of the factory clips instead of Duct Tape.
-
Thank you! I will look that up. I already noticed you can pull the end with the slots right off. You should be able to slide it back on to a cut down wire. Thank you again.

I fished the antenna wire through the shaft and it worked out fine. The antenna should come in a 5 foot length instead of the super long one they give you.
-
I received my shaft yesterday and started putting it together tonight. All I can say is the quality, workmanship and attention to detail is Top Shelf and OFF the charts perfect. Beautifully made!! Thanks Steve!!! Enjoy your vacation and may you and your family have a great Holiday Season!!

Garret is the finest in the industry with product support. They supply parts for all of their detectors and most often it's free. Friendly folks there!

What's Your Preference Puck Master Or Remote?
mudwhale replied to basstrackerman's topic in XP Deus II Forum
I use both depending on where I am. In the thick crap it's the WS6. In the open it's the remote all day long. -

Anyone Using Deus 2 Aftermarket Charging Clamp For Coil?
mudwhale replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in XP Deus II Forum
I have zero issues charging this machine. Collapse the shaft and connect everything. 1st grade stuff! No problem. -
Anyone Using Deus 2 Aftermarket Charging Clamp For Coil?
mudwhale replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in XP Deus II Forum
I am absolutely not having any issues with my factory charging setup. Yes, you need to get your coil off the ground a bit to ensure contact. I am having zero issues. -

Check out Nokta Makro's site. They have eclipsed this tech about a decade ago. They have had ground penetrating systems for military use for the last 2 decades. How deep is your wallet??
