Who Uses The Wm-09

I'm curious about the WM-09. I don't like the ML 105s for summer use. The ML85's are kinda like the old 800 headphones and while I find them okay I'm not sure I want to invest in a pair. I have a set of Grey Ghost and Aiwa headphones I could use already with the WM-09 or maybe get some wired ear buds.

So do I.  I like to use a specific set of phones for detecting so the WM09 allows that.

I don't see the long cord version listed any more. Same seller, maybe contact them to see if they still make the long cord type if you're interested.

Those actually work underwater, i.e. keeping water from entering the ear canal?

I do. On my right shoulder with earbuds. Haven’t tried a real long hunt yet though.

I guess they could if you got the right fitting foam nub, but I believe by "waterproof" they just mean you can get them wet and they will keep working. I have been slapped upside the head by waves with no problems from them, and I leave them plugged into my detector when I spray it down with the hose. I spray the buds down too with no issues.

I do, with a pair of wired earbuds.  I just stick the WM09 in my pocket and run the earbuds under my shirt.  This is my first Minelab and initially thought the WM09 would be bigger, but its quite small.
