Winter Prospecting This Year, Reasonable Choices?
nvchris replied to 1515Art's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Last year around this time.. -
Nenad, Hello and welcome, looking forward to your posts! Any plans to make the SDC headphone adapter into a super heavy duty version? They just don't hold up when dragging the beeper along the ground!

Winter Prospecting This Year, Reasonable Choices?

All the Jelly is going south Paul! The improved roads are fine, for the most part. Do not go in the back country without telling someone where you're going, take several days supplies In the winter, one mistake and you could end up flipped over in a ditch. It happens to folks every year. -
Winter Prospecting This Year, Reasonable Choices?
nvchris replied to 1515Art's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
This is my favorite time in NorNV from fall till the March rain/winds. Cold mornings, cool daytime highs and no crowds like AZ sees in the winter with a beeper behind every cacti. Living close to the gold is a big plus though, I can be on most patches in an hour. Lovelock is in the Nevada pineapple belt! That said we are planning/packing the RV up for the WSPA Greaterville outing that runs with the Tucson Gem and Mineral show. -
Steve, Think they will send you a demo to review? http://ldgolddetector.com/product/omnitron-anderson-rods

Looks like coil size rules on deeper/smaller targets That was the 9" coil on the Deus. -
Detectorist Finds $1 Gold Coin With XP Deus

This detectors ability to find small high conductors in iron litterd sites is why its taking market share in England/Euro where the cut hammered coins and tiny gold and silvers are highly sought after. -
Efficiency is paramount! Zero loss is the holy grail in electrical/electronics.

Could Have Found It With A Radio Shack
nvchris replied to vanursepaul's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Had I not seen one in action, I doubt I would have bought one. But thats the reaction the Minelab VLF were getting also when they came out @ twice the price of the competition. If it wasn't for a certain Lady, I think ML in the USA would have withered on the vine, she bailed out a shipment of 16,000's from customs then took over marketing them and built the brand here. -
Could Have Found It With A Radio Shack

This is why I keep upgrading, and having another go around old patches where I never had luck! Quote, "Both of those patches were found with the GPZ 7000 and were started by sub gram bits in real nasty ground, the tiny pieces started the patch thanks to the GPZs ability to make a "Dig Me" signal out of them which then lead to the easy gold. Its that reason alone I update to new technology because in the right ground it increases my chances of getting onto the sun-bakers which are real fun." JP -

Thanks! I thought I was posting in a "reminiscing VLF depth " topic. In essence I agree with Steve's opinion Nothing new in raw depth of the IB detectors. But they sure have gotten easier to use and ID. I mean just look at all those knobs on the 202A, each adjustment had to be preformed in a strict sequence! -

Gold Racer - Pricing and Availability
nvchris replied to Nokta Detectors's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
Dilek Wow, this catches your dealers and the distributer flatfooted. It was fun taking calls this morning from customers that had more information then your distribution chain. Telling customers "I don't know" is not how I like to do business. From what I understand your distributer was not sent a demo unit. Respectfully, detectoraid.com -
Paul Kirkeminde - Detector Prospector Man Of The Year!
nvchris replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Meet & Greet
Thank you for honoring him Steve. He gives much more then the physical, he gives something much more precious, time and love. He is a truly selfless person, that we could all use as a role model. He is my friend. -
Im really looking forward to this new version 4 and the coil! "What the CTX needs more than anything is a processor upgrade to improve things on the speed side, and a long overdue upgrade in the screen quality." Second that processor upgrade, and add that to the next GPZ also!

Signal Enhancers (Amp) for Minelab GP series
nvchris replied to Swegin's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
If you get a detector powered amp make sure its a 4 pin. Doc's is a great choice for a total system, light weight battery and amp. He also sells a stand alone 9 volt battery powered amp, The Treasure Screamer. The B&Z is my choice it's a stand alone with, IMHO better controls and plug layout. Vkteksolutions has a a few choices for stand alone and detector powered for the SD's and GP's 4 pin layout. They also make the best aftermarket patch leads! A low cost alternative is the Radio Shack Mini Amped powered speaker. Part # 2771008 -

Thanks for all the support from this community! Im pleased with the turnaround time that 20 days included two weekends and one was the 4 day thanksgiving weekend. Less transit time leaves 7 working days. Heres a question for Rick K (or any in AZ) Is the Minelab training center/store still open in Prescott Valley?

I've asked XP to expand the fine GB adjustment, like the GB2 has a coarse and fine GB. Perhaps that's in V4 Imho that would improve its nuggethunting ability.
