Dew, I need someone else with me to do some testing ... but...what I'm most interested in are all the "iron" targets with the MDT.....will the D2 call some of them non ferrous, which one is deeper/more accurate with ID at depth.
-
Not all inclusive and just done in air to try to identify the range of gold items. I didn't test all on hand just enough to realize how big of a range gold does fall in on this machine. I used Beach Sensitive for the test....11" coil...your results could vary! Notice how the square tab falls right in the middle of the test pieces range. But you knew that I'm sure..... Cliff

Aaron’s Tarsacci Videos Marked Private
cdv replied to Ridge Runner's topic in Tarsacci Metal Detectors
Aaron's videos are back up on YouTube....as of 3/8/22 https://www.youtube.com/user/BladelockAPL/videos -
I loved my trips to Myrtle Beach....completely understand what you are going through. I'm from Florida (originally from Western Pa.) and a Tarsacci owner too. After enough times driving to the beach (Myrtle and Ocean City), I made my retirement move to Florida. Good vacation finds, good luck on your next adventure. Cliff

Thanks Chase, all good on this end.... trust me I want this machine to work in the saltwater! Cliff

"Folks, please do at least a minimal amount of research before spouting off and pondering problems where there are not problems. " Chase, thanks for your input....personally, I have done some research, first was the search function in this forum plus reading the manual. Although I couldn't find any info on "potential" OR "reported" problems, I figured it was worth mention/questioning due to the lack of seeing Deus machines in the water around my hunting area. I had one friend with two Deus units that would not run them in the water. So I asked.... "While the exposed charging port connections are something that should be looked after and regularly cleaned/rinsed off after submersion, the principle is basically the same as the flat charge port contacts on the back of the Nox that have not been reported to be problematic for Nox water hunters nor those who presently use Deus 1 in the water." As for the Nox not having reported problems on the charging contacts, I have personally had problems with my Nox. Although minor, I have had corrosion on the contacts...and problems with the connector making good contact for charging. I've dealt with those and never really was too concerned since it is my backup machine and mostly loaned out to others. Warranty of 5 years makes me believe XP knows what it has in the new Deus 2! Can't wait to see more about this machine.... lots of good videos so far showing its capabilities. Cliff

I'm really liking what I'm seeing with the Deus 2 however never owning one, I have concerns for / about saltwater durability and the charging connections. I've dealt with minor charging problems with the connections on the Equinox and was just curious if anyone had an idea how the Deus coils hold up to saltwater use on a fairly consistant basis...I mainly water hunt. Looks Like I'm On Board With Deus 2 & The Bone Phones
cdv replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in XP Deus II Forum
I'm really liking what I've seen so far in the videos however, reading in the manual about underwater use I read one thing that has me concerned....you attach the antenna with an elastic band to the coil.....how long is that band going to last while scrubbing the coil on the sand/rock bottom? Since I've never even touched a Deus, I'll let the users of that system chime in. Cliff -
I just have to ask, did you tell yourself while picking up that TV stand that this wasn't going to end well .....and then it didn't? Just about every time something bad happens to me, it is right after saying it in my head.... Can't be to bad IF you managed to walk out on the dry sand to the water....Congrats on the gold. Hope you heel (foot joke) quickly..... Lets get back together for a hunt when you can... Cliff
-
I had a hunch you were hunting the sandbar for those targets.....everything else near shore is cleaned up regularly!

If I had known you were going to be there Sunday, I'd have stocked the beach for you two.🤣 Todd and I didn't do any better than you did although I know you didn't step in any of the holes I dug due to the tide going up for you most of the day. Really nice to see you are back at it. Cliff

Unboxing The Tarsacci With New Battery Mod…
cdv replied to Aaron's topic in Tarsacci Metal Detectors
The new battery compartment/cap assembly is a huge improvement to the machine even though I've never had a leaking problem from many hours of use in the salt water with the original cap. Love the MDT! Good video Aaron. Cliff -
Not sure, may have been one of Harold's prior to getting my Eisenhower phones.... over two years ago and you want me to remember the phones I used...... Ha Ha.... I'm lucky I can remember any minor details anymore. I forgot about the music I had heard until it was posted which jarred my brain cells.... Changing the phones could be the reason since it hasn't happened again.... I just can't be sure. Cliff
-
Huh, music through the headphones.... I had a similar problem when I first got my MDT and even mentioned it to Tom D. sheepishly cause I thought I was hearing things. It happened in one particular spot at one beach where there were a few towers nearby. I've never had it happen again and even tried to "make" it happen again. I kept looking around to figure out where the person was with the loud music until I realized it was in my headphones..... but again, it hasn't happened since and I just love this machine. Cliff

AQ --- Gold Ring And 8 Silvers
cdv replied to Joe Beechnut OBN's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Good hunt, great results and so glad you are back at it Joe! Cliff -
I find my arm and wrist problems after a 5-6 hour hunt are a thing of the past now with Steve's 2 piece shaft on the Tarsacci. Amazing how much of a difference the smaller diameter does make..... Cliff

One Suggestion For The Impulse AQ Going Forward
cdv replied to tvr's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Hmm, about 30 machines out there, 3 or 4 reported broken (lower shaft) and a redesigned replacement is available.... I'm betting Fisher has all of our addresses on file..... Cliff -
One Suggestion For The Impulse AQ Going Forward

Just checked mine and found it functional but sounded/felt a bit gritty inside. After a few times cycling it back and forth, it sounds better and feels better. Cliff -
One Suggestion For The Impulse AQ Going Forward

I haven't tried adjusting my shaft but will say the spring button is rusting. Yes I do rinse off after every hunt. Kind of the norm for spring buttons Cliff -
Fisher Headphones For Impulse AQ
cdv replied to jimpugh's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Joe, as Dew stated, I am now using the TE's on the AQ. The stock phones I needed full volume and had the threshold up around 7, now I can run the volume where ever I want (normally 5-6) and the threshold can be lowered (for my hearing) to 4-5. I'd rather have some adjustment to make rather then run wide open as with the stock phones that came with my AQ.... I didn't however open the cups up to see if I have the dual piezos or not... I agree the TE's have a very clean audio which has helped me determine what I think is under the coil....I'm still digging the targets to verify my hunches. Still learning the machine but it is coming along. Cliff -
