New Minelab Silversaver Metal Detector
GaryC/Oregon Coast replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Use to hunt a hog farm in Fontana California. Restuarant scraps were sent to this hog farm to feed the beasts! You would be surprised on how much silverware goes into the trash with the scraps! We found lots of silverware. GaryC/Oregon Coast -
Thanks Steve and Phrunt for the info. My old brain has a hard time with some of this stuff. GaryC/Oregon Coast

So Phrunt, are you saying when you buy a new 800 you have to download the updated software you want and it is not already installed. Thanks, GaryC/Oregon Coast
-
I realize I can restore back to a previous update version if I wish on my old 800, assuming I installed all of them (my machine was one of the first ones out). If I go out and buy a new 800 today and it has all the updates in it now, will I be able to pick and choose which update I want to use or is it installed permanently? Thanks, GaryC/Oregon Coast

What Are These?

Yes, they are curtain weights. I have found many of them over the years. GaryC/Oregon Coast -

Does Anyone Know What This Is?
GaryC/Oregon Coast replied to TreasureHunter5's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
"Let me know what you think!" Going by your quote above, it's just a guess. Maybe you'll get other perspectives. Hard to tell when I can't feel the weight in my hand. Good Luck. GaryC/Oregon Coast -
Does Anyone Know What This Is?

Looks like a cap off a electrical socket where it was crimped to another piece. Maybe a thicker coated wire went through it or it had a switch attached. GaryC/Oregon Coast -
Personally for my own situation, as an Old beach walker (over 70) who has been walking the beaches forever, I don't need a battery that lasts for eight-ten hours. I like the 2-1/2 -3 hour battery pack, where you can buy two and change them out when and if you want to continue to do an extended walk. I'm one of those lucky guys who live close to a beach. I don't have to cram everything into a one day eight hour hunt. I will never get that machine in over three feet deep anyway so the depth limit of the AQ limited is of no concern to me. I like the price of the AQ limited, ya, I'm cheap. Who knows how long I have left on this earth anyway, so $1499 sounds better to me than $2,500 $3,000 or whatever Fisher wants. The AQ limited is just the right machine for what I want it to do for me on my beaches and lakes. I hope everybody else does wait for the new and improved version and gets off the list. Just my two cents worth. GaryC/Oregon Coast

First Impressions Of The AQ
GaryC/Oregon Coast replied to cudamark's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
That headphone cable really looks like it's made from some stiff material. Not prone to too much re-directing away from the rear to the front. Plus you already say it's not that long. I like Joe's pigtail headphone cable rework where you can secure the cable better with rubber banding. Thanks for the pictures Mark. GaryC/Oregon Coast -
Got A Nice Relic In Lake Today
GaryC/Oregon Coast replied to Rick N. MI's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
I'll have to watch for those here in Oregon. We are also on a major river (Siuslaw) that was also used for floating logs to port. GaryC/Oregon Coast -
So the last I heard on these past posts there were 8 sold but not all delivered. By now all eight should have been delivered. Am I correct in thinking all eight are not going to be leaving feedback on this forum. I don't follow other forums, just this one. Is someone (who has an AQ in hand) posting finds, likes, dislikes, problems, concerns on the AQ limited on other forums. Seems Joe and Steve are all I have seen feedback on. GaryC/Oregon Coast

GaryC/Oregon Coast replied to mn90403's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
Man Joe, your a regular Library of Congress. They didn't even lock their car door or roll the windows up. Great video. GaryC/Oregon Coast -
Phrunt, you need to get a chest holster for it! GaryC/Oregon Coast
