All you would need to do is lower your sensitivity a little in worse ground, there is a reason brands like Nugget Finder and Coiltek largely discontinued bundle would coils, they're left behind when it comes to performance, there is nothing wrong with spirals in bad ground or they wouldn't have discontinued their bundle coils, they just need a little less sensitivity, yet even with lower sensitivity they'll still pick up smaller gold better than a bundle coil would.

A spiral won't be noisy in moderate ground.

Yes, my Detech 15x8" was bundle wound, and really gutless on small gold contrary to their marketing for it.

That's what I always thought too, yet their website says the other 11" Coil is spiral too. So, unless they've done some dodgy copying and pasting then it's likely spiral. I like how they say Spiral Mound 😛 Maybe @PhaseTech could chime in being a dealer of the things.

Thanks for the video, Jeff, that's happening to someone else's detector I know but they just thought it was normal behaviour. I've been trying to tell them it's not likely normal, now I can prove it to them 🙂

Don't know, haven't had that combination, larger one will pick up more EMI, so the 11" will likely be more stable for that reason.

The statement obsolete single frequency machines seems more and more real as time goes by, most now have one, those that don't are barely talked about. They've even creeped into lower end machines.

It's the price of a high-end VLF, yet people keep constantly trying to compare it with detectors 4 or 5 times it's price, and surprisingly it does pretty well by comparison, it's sure not 4 or 5 times behind them in performance. When you see Minelab dealers saying, oh, but you have to include a coil and "optional" headphones to bring the price up a few hundred dollars when you say it's a $2000 AUD detector it makes me smile when the competitors are quadruple the price or more. Small change compared to the price difference. Yes, the GPZ, 6000 and the Axiom are a bit better, they're not many thousands of dollars better, so perhaps a price adjustment is coming, as I pity the high-priced manufactures when and if the Algoforce 2500 comes out, change seems like it is coming.... I sure hope so and it looks promising, already it makes everything else seem extremely overpriced.

I'm more excited about new prospects for PI's in the coin, jewellery, beach and relic hunting domain with the advent of the Algoforce, and what we will see in the future from P's detectors, I'd written off PI's going forward with the 6000 being a bit of a disappointment, I think now I'm wrong and there is much more PI technology can give. Today, I was using my Algoforce in pinpoint mode, detecting coins in a rather junky area, using the Pinpoint mode as if it were normal detecting mode, swinging slowly it felt much like swinging a VLF only with far more accurate ID's, sure I had to "retune" the pinpoint on clean ground every once in a while when it went out, to keep it in check, but, what if this became the normal mode of a PI, this non-motion pinpoint maybe a thing of the past with fast processing power, the Algo can certainly run in pinpoint mode and cover ground and detect targets and ID them well, although I'm in mild soil and swinging a little slower than I would with a VLF, but what if... processing was so fast with modern CPU's that a PI could run a motion Target ID and have it as accurate as the Algoforce in non-motion pinpoint mode, the raw depth of a PI, I think combine the Algoforce Target ID with the GPX iron discrimination using DD coils and you may have a weapon for coin, relic and jewellery hunters, maybe PI technology isn't dead yet. I really have no idea what I'm talking about, but floating a possibility, and it seems to be logical this could be the future.

Champion effort, it seems silvers are far harder to come by in the US and getting one seems a big achievement, so getting four in one go, outstanding.

Outstanding, I don't think the Vanquish gets near enough credit for how good it is, I'm completely happy using mine, killer machine and loves those silvers.

There was a Detech 11" Mono spiral prior to the newer ultra sensing model, what's improved I don't know with the Ultra sensing version over the older one, it's likely the older model spiral you're seeing for the cheaper price.

Detech Ultra Sensing, Coiltek Elite and Nugget Finder EVO's are the range of spirals commonly purchased on the market.

You're very well equipped already I would think for relics, where some of the more modern better coils excel such as the Flat (spiral) wound coils is extra sensitivity to smaller targets, for example a 14x9" Spiral coil is likely going to be as sensitive as your 10x5" if not more so yet obviously deeper being bigger. Also, a mono coil will go deeper, for example a 12" mono is going to be deeper on the GPX than the 15x12" DD. The mono's will be much worse for EMI though.

I watched the video, that's pretty bizarre. Especially for such a large target, hopefully someone with an Axiom can chime in with some help. I didn't even think it would be possible to balance out a 22 shell even if you tried.

Very Good pricing, the 10x5" model is reporting sold out already, only one left of the 11 model, the prices there even with importing into NZ with shipping, duty and taxes is very competitive with the Chinese clones that dominate our local market.

In my ground the Nox runs perfectly fine at 24, 25 is starting to play up a little but not much and indeed Target IDs are best at higher sensitivity, deep targets can identify as iron in lower sensitivity when in 24 they give a near perfect ID. If someone was in a higher EMI environment or worse soils, I can see that situation even reversing as they'd never find that deep target anyway and will mess with targets in their range. The Manticore had me fooled when I got it as something like 20 sensitivity on it seems like the Equinox maxed out which coincidently is the default sensitivity setting for the Manticore, and then 20 to 35 is going into unstable territory, not so much for the detector itself, more for Target ID's. As they say 31 to 35 is extreme sensitivity, which the manual says can be counterproductive as targets may be masked by noise. 31 to 35 is great for tiny gold hunting in remote spots with no EMI though, even just flicking to it to help recover the target when it disappears which happens a lot with tiny gold, disturb the soil and the slight move of the piece can put it out of range. I can run the Manticore with complete stability, no EMI chips and falsing yet it's Target ID's are still worse the higher the sensitivity.

Every new detector or coil that comes along finds stuff in flogged ground, 🙂 I wish people would stop using that term. He found a nice specimen, I'm still yet to find one, rare as hens teeth around here. That's going to be it's strong point over detectors like the earlier GPX series.

I don't know if I'd want a powerful magnet that close to the electronics.

I learnt this the slow and hard way with the Manticore, backed it right down to near half way and found the sweet spot for stability and depth for my needs.
