  1. Come on! Show us a photo of the cleaned ring. We all want to see a close up of it.
  2. Hey, that's a great haul. Nice getting gold ring. Looks like a fun hunt.
  3. Interesting. The Lobo ST w/8" & 9x8 concentric coils were hot with the internal gb turned negative. I sold mine unfortunately but I have a Tejon now.
  4. If it goes that deep on gold ring it's going to be hard to pass up on.
  5. I was hunting in a public local park and a few time a park maintenance guy would kick me out. The police didn't care that I was in the park detecting. I had to start detecting there on Sunday when the park worker wasn't there. One person walking through asked me if I had permission to do that. I got a lot of coins out of it. IH's, Wheats and one Morgan dollar in the flowers next a walk path. 1 Fish Scale Canadian silver nickel and no more silver coins. Was using a Sovereign XS2 w/8" coil. I never went back with the newer detectors.
  6. Can you imagine digging that deep in the water.
  7. The engineer said you can use Beach Deep mode if you want to get a gold ring to 60cm. That's 23.6". An interesting video.
  8. Great hunting. The V nickel is in great shape. Your going to check out the woods.
  9. The Lobo had a ground balance and the Lobo ST didn't have one unfortunately.
  10. Yes, I'm worried that it could leak like the Equinox. I haven't heard anything about it having better waterproofing. Also concerned about the high tone falsing in iron. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
  11. I agree also. It has to have very good separation, at least as good as the Deus/Orx. My biggest problem is the coils for water hunting. Why isn't there a coil like the Sovereign/Excalibur for water hunters. I'm also interested in what the 2d display can do.
  12. That's incredible. First dig in all that trash. Nice one.
  13. Nice finds. I would still do the acid test on the ring.
  14. Oh wow! That's incredible. I've been running my detector in my yard and haven't dug any of the signals. Just testing them. Now I'm going to have to dig them lol.
  15. I love a hunt like that. Relics and silver. That crotal bell is sweet. It's been awhile since I found one.
  16. It's dirt and grass. I didn't think about that I should get permission. I haven't been hunting there. I will ask for permission. The parking area is open all the time. It's a field. There is a short walk to the fair ground. My hunting is about over for this year. Winter is coming in about a month. It's 41F out right now. Thanks, Rick
  17. A fairground by me has a large dirt parking area. Would that be a good location for jewelry? People get out of there cars and walk to the fairground.
  18. Great getting platinum. I haven't found any. It should have had real diamonds. Oh well.
  19. Good getting out there and getting a gold ring. There's going to be a lot of stuff there.
  20. Cut a piece of wood or something and put it inside the shaft at the break. Glue it in with epoxy. Then glue the shaft together.
  21. I'm expect the Manticore will have better waterproofing but I don't like the design of the coils for water hunting. Even the 6x8 coil doesn't look designed to sweep through the water easy. I plan on hunting in lakes a lot next year. I'm excited about this detector but the coils will keep me away from this detector unfortunately. When a detect is made waterproof, it should have coils that go through the water easy.
  22. Hunting in mild ground and sandy lakes, those area I would say don't need SMF. I have 2 and probably will get a 3rd SMF detector. I just picked up an AT Gold and got a Nel Superfly coil. I'm very impressed with the performance, separation and how quiet it running. Makes me smile going thru iron with no noise and no falsing. I am enjoying using it and I have say right now I'm using it more than my SMF detectors.
