  1. Yes, you did the right thing. My buddy and I were hunting a spot near a fort that the British, French and Indians were there. He found a hand made copper jewelry he thought was made by an Indian. He put it back in the ground and he showed me where he buried it and I said I'll take it and I did. We went back again detecting and some strange things were happening as we hunted. My buddy thought it was sacred Indian ground. We went back and buried the copper jewelry again and put tobacco and cross with it. My buddy won't detect there anymore. Also heard about another guy that hunted there who took something and strange things were happening to him. He took it back and will never hunt there again. I did find a 1700's British 10th Regiment of the Foot button in excellent condition. I did keep that. Sometimes you have to put it back to make it right.
  2. Same here. I need that 5x9.5 coil. Will be the best all around for me. The 11" is to heavy. I do have the 6" coil and is good for some areas. I've heard it's hard to design SMF coils. The Gold Kruzer with the 5x9.5 coil is so easy to sweep in the water. The Legend will be main water hunter with the 5x9.5.
  3. The 6x8 coil makes it worth looking at for me. Is the separation going to be there?
  4. Tejon is great. I take it out first in a new site.
  5. Mantis is good name. I like that. Lets change the name.
  6. I haven't heard of anyone using this. I hunt fresh water lakes. I don't know if it can handle fresh water or ocean.
  7. I saved up my money when I was i school and my first detector was a Compass 77b Pro. A TR, frequency 100 khz, had no disc but wouldn't hit on nails. It came with an 8" and I bought a 10" coil for it. Just sold it recently to someone that wanted one. It still worked.
  8. Here's a shaft where the lower shaft is 3/8" dia. Would be nice in the water.
  9. I agree 100% with you. I've tried this before. I've send designs to Nokta/Makro. I don't know why waterproof detectors and coils aren't aren't designed for water hunters. Look at Tesoro's 8" round coil, they are very thin. Other coil makers at least round the edges of there coils. I taped a 1/4" 1/2 round pastic on the edge my coils. They work a lot better in the water.
  10. It looks good. I don't like all the supports on the coil either. I wonder if the Equinox coils will work with it. Or at least more coils for it. It looks looks like the Equinox. Hope it's better waterproof.
  11. Sorry about the tendon going out. I've seen the achilles tendon go out on someone one time when I was playing racquetball. He went right down. I pray for a quick recovery. Time flies by.
  12. I would say it's worth about $375.00. Are you selling one?
  13. Nice hunt and big silver ring. That is a really beautiful spot.
  14. Great story and great hunt. Plus a nice haul on jewelry! Can't beat finding a nice gold ring.
  15. Great job! I can't tell if you add a ground balance to the Cibola. It looks really nice.
  16. That would be tough to choose. They both performed well. I would give a slight edge to the Legend. You could also consider the weight difference. I think the 5x9.5 will push it over the edge to keep the Legend. A 5x9.5 is supposed be in the works. That coil is the reason I'm keeping my Legend. Also with Nokta/Makro keeping up on this detector is another reason to keep the Legend. We may also have an update coming that would give the Legend even better separation. That is only a guess lol. No rumors on that.
  17. Now that's a great relic hunt. Good job. That's the kind of stuff I like to find lol.
  18. That's interesting. I haven't tried single tone. Haven't heard anything about single tone.
  19. Nice silver. That's a tough spot. Good hunt. Were you using the Tejon again?
