  1. A step up with Tesoro is the 4 pin coil detectors. The Tejon, Vaquaro & Cibola are 2" to 3" deeper depending on your ground. I had a Tesoro Shadow X2 with a 7" concentric. In my mild ground it got approx. 7" on a penny. It was nice. Just listen for those soft whispers.
  2. They are both great detectors. If you have a concentric coil on your Mohave then there no sense in getting the Silver umax. If you want an extra detector for a backup it would be great to have.
  3. Nasa Tom said he will never use the Equinox again. He is also involved with the Manticore project. He can't release any information about it. That is quite a statement for the Manticore.
  4. A great price for a Legend. Were all waiting for that 5x9.5 coil. I can wait till spring now.
  5. Wow, that's amazing how many hours did that take. With all that digging it's surprising you didn't find gold. Nice heavy silver ring is good.
  6. Every winter mice would make nests inside my carburetor on my dirt bike. Not an easy thing. So every spring I had to take it apart and clean it. They never chewed on anything though fortunately. Never had anything chew on my detectors either.
  7. Could be some animal chewed on it? Unfortunate.
  8. Yes, cool finds. I like the bottle. Did you get the bottle out of a hole you were digging for a target?
  9. You've been telling us to use disc 5.5 on the Orx and you proved it why. I enjoyed the video. Good job on the video. It really enhanced the Orx for relic hunting. I love finding square nails. I keep them all. I used to hunt with a T2 in single tone with disc at 16. It makes sense to lower the disc into iron range. I don't mind digging some iron either. I forgot about doing that and I'm glad you posted it again. I've seen your post to use disc 5.5 and it didn't kick in. I kept think nails aren't disc out but it works good that way. Keep posting it and it will sink to our brains. Going to make me keep my Orx too. Good post.
  10. Now I'm planning on getting a Deus 2 w/9" coil in the spring instead of the Manticore. It will be great in my lakes and relic hunting. Perfect coil size for the water. I love the light weight too. Thank you palzynski. I was concerned about if the D2 was falsing in iron. That was great to hear. I needed that :). Thank you Jeff, I needed to hear the D2 compared to D1. Great comparison and how much better the D2 is.
  11. Maybe there are some dd coils that work well. The one I didn't like was the 8x11dd. I didn't care for the Lobo ST 10" elliptical coil either. The Nel coils might work ok. I've stayed with the concentric coils on my Tejon.
  12. I've tried dd coils with my Tejon and didn't like them. Concentric is best on my Tejon. I'm using the 9x8 concentric and I have an 8" round concentric.
  13. Is it the SMF causing the falsing in iron. I never saw so much falsing as when I got the Equinox 800. I can't stand it in iron.
  14. What a great find. I've heard use white glue and thin it with water. Put it on the item and it soaks in stabilizing the item. Might have to do a few times. Not supposed to see it. Try it on something else first. Also the white glue can be removed soaking it in water.
  15. T2. Put it in boost, go to all metal, incredibly powerful.
  16. Great relic hunt. I like the bb gun or toy gun. Nice silver too. Nice display of the finds and nice sharp photos.
  17. Another great hunt. You are persistent to get out there. You got some relics. I pray your feeling better. 41 deg here right now. I'm hoping it warms up enough for me to get out.
  18. I only hunt with headphones too but sometimes when I'm out testing a detector I just use the speaker.
  19. I have Raynaud's Syndrome too. In the winter I use hand warmers in my boots and gloves. My dad had it too. It started when I was 16. My fingers and toes turn white in the cold too. Before it started I never got cold lol. I could go ice fishing and scoop the ice out of the holes with my hands and not get cold. Now just a temperture change going lower can turn my fingers white sometimes. I don't take anything for it.
  20. Oh man, you are getting into the good stuff now. Awesome find. Don't know if I'll ever find one of those. 38 deg a little cold for me.
  21. Some good hunting. Great to see the cw button. I wonder how all that aluminum trash got out there.
