  1. 3d printing is incredible. Like something from Star Trek. A replicator.
  2. I use a 1/4" 1/2 round on the coils I take in the water. It is removeable. I tried it on and off and worked a lot better with it on.
  3. Coils with all edges round and coil thinner. Shaft more aerodynamic like this maybe.
  4. Sorry about the leak. I had a 1 new one leak first time in the water. So far the one have now has no leaks. Hopefully the new minelabs will have better waterproofing. Nice silver finds.
  5. Nice hunt. I haven't found a 3 cent, 2 cent, Shield nickel, Standing Liberty quarter or Bust coins. I have found some seated coins. Going to a spot tomorrow and hope I get some IH's.
  6. Nice pulling a Barber out of the ground. I remember the first I found. I was very careful with it and carried it to the car and laid it on the seat like it was a piece of nice glass. I was overwhelmed with it.
  7. Nice to find gold. Is that one find a cross? I was in a freshwater lake this morning and it was windy. A lot different than an ocean I would guess. The waves were pushing and pulling me. One wave hit me in the chest and water went up my nose. I quit after 45 min. Didn't find anything either.
  8. That's an awesome find Kac. The Apex is doing it's job.
  9. I only used a friends 1280x one time on land. It worked very well. The Garrett Sea Hunter is waterproof to 200' and can be hip mounted. There is another detector. Detectorpro Headhunter Underwater has a 1280x in the headphones. Detector w/ 8" coil waterproof to 70'. Detector w/ 12" coil waterproof to 100'. The 1280x is 2.4 khz which isn't the best for gold. It will do good on rings. With only about a $200 difference between the 1280x and Garrett Sea Hunter. I would say the Sea Hunter Mark II is the way to go for salt water. I don't know what other pi's are available for diving.
  10. 1280x is a good detector for gold rings. It's a low frequency and not sensitive to small gold but will do good on rings. It can be hip mounted also. I just did a test with the Gold Kruzer w/ 5x9.5dd coil. The max depth in sand on a gold ring is 9". Equinox goes a lot deeper but when I can get out I'm taking the Gold Kruzer out next. For some reason I've found more gold with the Gold Kruzer. Just luck I would say though.
  11. Have a good trip and hunt. Find a ton of gold.
  12. The Apex does have ground balance which is a big plus. I'm waiting for there new waterproof one.
  13. With most of the iron notched out you have no iron tone then?
  14. Nice report. Look forward to your next report.
  15. In most states you can't detector there. You can get permission. The lakes by me most people don't care if I'm in the water in front of there house detecting so I don't have a problem.
