  1. It's not out yet so we don't know the actual performance yet. Only on the prototypes that are out. Assuming the the coil is waterproof it could be used in the water like the Deus/Orx. For the price it is interesting. I'll be watching to see what it can do.
  2. Great hunt. The Tarsacci did great. Nice finding an Indian Head that the Orx missed.
  3. Make sure you have the cable on the clip is facing to the middle of the coil.
  4. Did the detector work when turned on? Yes, when you connect the charger clip to the coil make sure the light on the coil is on all the time. Then you know it's charging.
  5. I had the same thing happen. I emailed the dealer I got it from. Then I got an email from the distributor. I sent my coil and battery in and they sent me another coil and battery and then everything worked fine.
  6. Another great hunt. Test that ring. You might have something good.
  7. Nice hunt. Great finding a spot like that. Great photos too. You could turn your statement into a metal detecting old rock & roll song like Hot Rod Lincoln. Which detector did you use?
  8. Maybe it's because there is no ground balance on the Vanquish detectors. The Equinox sensitivity doesn't have to be turned down that much.
  9. Kac, I have the Vista Smart Plus and also wouldn't mind a Gold Gain too. I've had a Tejon that really liked. The Tejon has a language I haven't seen with the Vista Smart+. You get that sweet tone on a good target with the Tejon. The Tejon is noisy in iron but doesn't false on iron. The Vista Smart+ runs quiet thru the iron. I would say the depth and separation of the Vista detector is on par with the Tejon. With the Smart+ and disc maxed, it removes most foil. With the Vista when you disc out a nail it is gone. You will not get a sound over the nail. I really like how quiet the Vista is in iron. Having the Smart+ I don't see a need for a Tejon. The Tejon is a little lighter but the weight on the Smart+ isn't bad. I have a 7x11 coil and the Supersix 5.5x8 coil. Both coils the depth is good. I think you would like the Vista Gold Gain. Even with the higher frequency the depth is there. Add some neg. ground balance like you can with the Tejon and it adds more depth.
  10. That's great finding gold there. It's said that all states have gold. It's not worth while in a lot of states to try and find it though.
  11. I know why I dug up my rock. It hits on my detector and is very magnetic.
  12. Great video showing false hits in iron. I don't like detectors that do that in iron. I guess you have to put up with it to get the most finds or increase iron bias and/or lower sensitivity more. Or not use it in iron lol. There are detectors that don't do that. I guess that's why we need more than one detector.
  13. Do a search on the internet for metal detector dealers. Most dealers have Garrett.
