Nice ring.

The Coiltek 5x10 does look well built but I'm a fan of light weight coils. I have Nel 10x11 Superfly coil at 420 grams that is about the same weight as the Equinox 5x10 coil. I have a Mars 13" discovery coming that's 520 grams.

Has Anyone Tried A Gold Racer At The Beach?
Rick N. MI replied to kac's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
The cross was so light and thin I thought it aluminum and almost gave it away on the beach. I was really surprised it was 18k. -

Still a nice find. 2 grams is worth $66.75. I found this cross last year with the Gold Kruzer. It's 18k and is 1.06 grams. -

Nice find! You're lucky you can get out. I'm snowed in deep. The Gold Racer did it's job of finding gold. -
Light Weight Foot Digger In The Works

You can weld it back together. Surprising that it broke. -
Positive gb the detector runs smoother with less depth. Negative gb makes it hotter, more chatty and can add depth. Some detectors won't increase the depth with a negative gb and work best with ground balance right on. You'll have play around with it and see. I don't know if it helps the Multi Kruzer or not. As soon as the snow is gone I'll try it on Gold Kruzer.

Negative ground balance is setting ground balance number lower. You have it backwards. It is positive ground balance when the coil is moved to the ground and you hear a sound. Negative is when you raise the coil and you hear a sound.

The Tejon in my mild ground the depth increased 1"+ with a negative gb. It would hit my 10" test dime w/ 8" concentric coil. The AT Gold also increased depth to about an 1" with a neg. gb. With the 8x5 coil it would hit a 9" test dime but not 10". How you adjust your gb depends on what king of ground your in.

I think they removed the speaker too.

Analog detectors like Tesoro could be set hot and go deeper with a negative ground balance. It was called power balancing. It worked very well with my Tejon and with an internal adjustment on my Lobo ST. New detectors I haven't seen this working so well.

Do you notice how many 1964 nickels you find. I find a lot of that year. -
New Equinox Coils From Coiltek
Rick N. MI replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
I want it for lake hunting but I'll pass on it if it's to heavy. It shouldn't be much heavier than the 11" coil. Unfortunately it probably will be. The 11" coil goes fine in the water without being heavier.
