  1. No wire & battery inside the shaft? Just take one coil off and put another coil on is what the video said. I want to see what the other coils are now.
  2. That's pretty high. Not sure I could do that. Just have to wait to confirm the price.
  3. Yes, Excalibur and Sovereign are the same. Excalibur is waterproof.
  4. The shaft design looks different. It looks thinner like it could be sweep thru water easier. I've been wanting a shaft designed to sweep thru the water easier. This could be good.
  5. I like a detector that comes apart, giving me the options of hip mounting or using another shaft. It sounds like this one can't do that. If it's well balanced it should work just fine.
  6. I would be surprised if the battery is under the arm unless it's the parts problem.
  7. Thanks, that will work. Using the GMX even with nails disc'ed it did hit the 10k white gold earring great. I'll just wait and see if the GMX comes out from Garrett.
  8. How much can be disc out? Just wondering if it can disc out foil and be be used coin & relic hunting. I know it can disc out nails and still hit a 10k white gold earring. So it would be great for micro gold. I hope Garrett makes the waterproof GMX in a light weight package. I wouldn't mind it in an AT Gold housing that can be hip mounted. My hunting is mostly in mild sandy lakes and some relic hunting. I had a GMX. A powerful detector. I wish I hadn't sold it. Now a light weight GMX would be nice.
  9. Lol, no offense. Just saying that's what Xp will probably do. I want it the other way. No politics for me :).
  10. I would rather have the coil cord wrapped around the outside and connected to the controller where you can change coils and be able to use other shafts if you want to.
  11. That would be a nice looking detector. If the coil is wired the coil wire would probably run up inside of the shaft. I would definitely be interested in this detector. Waterproof and still very light.
  12. It could be even better. Don't know though with not being able to get parts. That's a problem everywhere right now. That can delay things even more. I saw that it supposed to be lighter. Looking forward to see what it will be. I hope it will still have the gold mode.
  13. Incredible finds. All the relic hunters are going to move to the ocean now lol.
  14. So sorry you lost your detecting buddy. A lot of good times out detecting.
  15. Kac, with the Apex, how is the feel, weight and balance with Ultimate 9" coil. I'm with Chase on the improved, light weight, waterproof detector in the future with the Ultimate 9" coil. With round edges it would be a great water detector too.
  16. It looks like right now the Detech Ultimate 9" coil is only available for the Apex and MXT. It will probably be available for other detectors soon. I like how the edge of the coil is round. Would sweep thru the water good. https://md-hunter.com/wiki/detech-9-ultimate-dd/
  17. You have a great area. NIce coins and ring is great too.
  18. I buried a 3.7 grams 14k Gold ring at 14" in the sand at a beach on a lake. The ground is mild. I went over the sand with 0 disc to make sure it was clean. Setting were sensitivity 96, recovery 2 and disc at 7. I went over the ring with 3 tone, 4 tone and gold 1. 3 tone & 4 tone hit it very good. I was surprised 3 tone hit good. Gold 1 was a very soft hit. All the frequencies 14 khz to 54 khz hit it. This spring I'll be hunting in the water with it.
  19. Yes put ice pack on it 3 times a day. The first 3 days use the ice more often. It will help heal quicker. Good luck hunting.
  20. Oh man, I can't image the pain when that happened. I would have have laying on the ground in pain. Glad you got out detecting. I was driving thru town one night and a truck in front of me had a TV like that in the back and it fell out and I ran over it. The TV shattered to little pieces and it ruined my radiator. No other damage. So I know how thick that that glass is and how heavy it is.
  21. Cool looking rock but I don't know what it is.
