Looking For Opinions Gold Bug Pro Vs. Makro Gold Racer

How about considering the FoRes Gold+? I don't have one, but I am impressed with the FoRes CoRe as a relic hunting machine and the "Plus" gets great reviews.

The FORS Gold Plus may be the best all around prospecting machine that Nokta/Makro currently make. You can go a bit crazy splitting hairs on the choices. The FORS Gold Plus at 19 kHz is a bit like a suped up Gold Bug Pro. I ended up selling mine to Keith Southern as he thinks it is also a killer machine for hunting "carpet of nails" scenarios. I lean more towards edgier stuff like the Gold Racer but the FORS Gold+ is better behaved.

Oh yeah, Gold Racer screen. I used mine in bright light and it worked well enough it made no memorable impression. I guess I have to go out today and put it in bright light again and report back.

you were maybe thinking of doing a little coin or relic hunting too, I thought

I would mention

the Gold Bug Pro is a good all around detector.

It's a good nugget hunter but you can also take it to a park

and do some coin hunting.

I think the Gold Racer is going to be a great nugget hunter and

I'm excited to have one, but it really is not a detector you would

want to do a lot of trashy park coin hunting with.

I think the new Racer 2 might end up being a great all around detector that can

do coin, relic, and nugget hunting all very well..

There are a lot of great detectors out right now and you really can't go wrong

with most of them.
