mn90403
I'm sure this is a false alarm on winter being here. Check back in December and there won't be any snow to speak of and we'll be getting a 'climate change' report that says he didn't need to stop after all. 1 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/20190-a-scientific-methodology/page/2/#findComment-216894 Share on other sites

How many feet did you get? 1 foot to 1.5 feet you need a 25 inch coil to get the nuggets close to the top. 1.5 feet to 2 feet you need the 36 inch coil for anything 2 inches below ground level. 3 inches to 1 foot use 11 inch coil for ground coverage. 1 to 2 inches just tough it out and use the standard equipment you wus. Good luck and stay safe. 3 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/20190-a-scientific-methodology/page/2/#findComment-216917 Share on other sites

Sourdough Scott
If the snow level is at 5000 ft, and we go detecting at 5200 ft elevation. Does that mean we have 200 ft of snow? 4 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/20190-a-scientific-methodology/page/2/#findComment-217011 Share on other sites

Frozen me, now that's a matter of concern. 30 degree weather with no wind, normal jacket. 30 degree weather with high winds, heavy jacket and wind breaker underneath. gloves used almost always, pocket warmers if you are older, electric pants if your rich with the shirt to match. With today's tech out there one can stay warm for a few hours of hunting. Heated boots are nice during the winter also. I know about most of these items because I have to use some of them when I am in the mini-sub working because the water is really cold and cools off the sub fast. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/20190-a-scientific-methodology/page/2/#findComment-217021 Share on other sites
Jim in Idaho
Are those subs insulated at all, Caleb? I'd imagine they are, or it would take a ton of battery power to keep it even moderately warm inside.
