Hi there, 

 

My name is Rick, i am from Holland and i just bought my first metaaldetector. 

I bought an Equinox 800 and hoping to find lots of tips and tricks here to get me going.

 Ask any questions you have . There are some of the best in the world here to help your progress in the hobby.

Good luck with your 800..  A very capable machine. Use the factory presets programmed into it . They are all you need to get going. . There are almost infinite adjustments that can be made but which ones and how much will become more clear as you get more experience and more questions answered.

Start there and as you learn about how it works . Become one with it's beeps and boops.  Common belief is 100 hours on a detector will get you there or at least close.

Dig it all at first , .

Welcome, Rick!  You've come to the right place, and the Minelab Equinox 800 is top notch.  It took me a long time to "become one with it" but it still was finding lots of good stuff even before that.  Patience, perseverance, and enjoy the ride.

Welcome to a great forum and while there are plenty of tips to be found, there is nothing like "hands on Learning" yourself. Put the time in, dig a bunch of targets and have at it and have fun.
